Now, I know these two are not exactly the same song, but they are definitely very similiar. The first to come out was Nicole Scherzinger’s “Steam.” It’s produced by my homeboy Bryan-Michael Cox. I’m not exactly sure whether or not this is going to make the cut for her album, but I love the track all of the same. I think it’s a great dance record. However, when 7 & Ashanti dropped “My Number, Babe,” I was pleasantly surprised because it reminds me of a Prince record (mainly because of 7′s vocals), and because it’s a duet. But the production is pretty much identical. Which one do you prefer? Who rides the beat better? Nicole of Pussycat Dolls fame or Ashanti?

Not only is Nicole the prettier, but she has the better voice, which is quite sad. You would think after all the years Shani has been in the industry, she would have banked on some vocal lessons from a certified coach. Its so funny how much effect a difference a change in arrangement, singer, and melody has on a track’s playability factor, and HIT factor! WORK NICOLE! Punch Ashanti!

People ALWAYS run to skin color when one talks about facial appeal. At the end of the day, the reason as to why Nicole looks better than Ashanti is SIMPLE. Nicole’s features are way more appealing then Ashanti’s, everything from her lips to her bright eyes trump Ashanti. Ashanti is a beautiful woman also, but it just is what it is.

Ashanti fans need to stop Acting like “B” stans and really think about what they are saying. Shanti aint really trying hard on the song. Nicole is out singing her, and Steam is less repetitive than My Number Babe.
Not only that, but Ashanti is a horrid dancer, I hope she went to Boom Kat Pow classes with Laurie Ann Gibson during her break because if Nicole comes out with Steam, you know she is going to dance her ass off. I actually like Nicole’s song too, they are totally different songs. Nicole uses less of the sample than Ashanti.
BUT if/when it comes to spending money then Ashanti got that all day. She has a proven track record with me…I haven’t been disappointed with any of her cds.
