At one point they acknowledged that this show along with the Vibe Awards were the real shows that represented our people. Now that they’re winning grammy’s and other awards does this mean that they are too good for the Soul Train awards? What’s up with that????

I went to the awards it was so ghetto the only good preformences was Omarion, Robin Thicke and Marques Houston.. Half of the people that won awards didnt show up for them they had them accepting them from a damn video screen WTF?!?! They will be quick to show up for the grammys though.. During the outakes some of the stars were messing up on they lines and shit lol just pure ghetto ..

I just wanted to say that I was shocked at the fact that most of the winners did not show up for the awards. Everyone had an excuse for why they could not attend the “Soul Train Music Awards”, but they sure made time for all of the other awards ceremonies, namely the Grammy’s and the Oscars (if you know what I mean). I think that for Soul Train to be one of the catapults for African Americans to be recognized for their acheivements, there should have been a lot more representation. I also think that Jermaine Dupre’s past artist should have came together to give him tribute. There are so many other things that could have taken place during the awards show. Maybe there’s something administrative going on with this thing and for the reason why these artists did not show up. Maybe Omarion and LeToya were the only two they could get to host the show. I’m going to say what no one else would say. I don’t care how nice or bad the people looked, the bottom line is that the Soul Train Music Awards was underrepresented and dry. It would be a shame to cancel it, but if they want more representation, they need to find a better way to get these people to come out.
