I’m sure you’ve all heard by now that Fantasia is going to be starring as Celie in “The Color Purple” on Broadway. She starts on April 10th, so you better click here to get them tickets.

I Love Fantasia
Fantasia is one of the greatest voices out there and this play will give her EVEN more exposure and yes # 6 she was about that business!!

You’re right! Clive does hit lots of homeruns, but you have to remember, that damn ghetto-ass Missy Elliott had her stinky paws all over Tasia’s debut and sophmore years! Hopefully, now that she’s spending time with Quincy Jones, things will get better!

I agree with everyone, I think she’ll do well. As far as her acting chomps.. I mean chops. Sorry, but she got some big assed teef. I think this may be her role like J Hud and Effie. Fantasia got the scars that prove she been through some shyt. I can see Mister telling her now as she finds the courage to leave. “Look at ya… Ya Black… Ya ugly… Ya a woman”…. Yup, this one is definitely made for Tasia.

But, Melinda’s got some powerful lungs and she don’t have to scream like Tasia or yodel like Beyonce’ to get the job done! There are a couple of other great women singer on this season, but Ms. Doolittle is the $#!T! Her singing is flawless!

I think people are overrating Ms Melinda a little too much, she sang that last song well but it wasn’t as good as people are making it out to be. We’ll see how she fares in the coming weeks.

27 beeef, last week she sing “My Funny Valentine”! The week before she sing, “Since You’ve Been Gone”! I recorded both performances, went back to listen and I thinks she rocked it both weeks!
This week should be interesting! The big girl, Lakisha Jones, the short hair, Stephanie Edwards and the light-skinned young girl, Jordin Sparks are all tight, but Melinda is the total package! She got the “X” factor! Just my opinion! She sings the best and has stage skills! Her looks aren’t as good as Stephanie’s or Jordin’s, but she can be fixed over-night! Teeth, nose, hair and wardrobe! I am really impressed!
Fantasia had all that church experience, but it only taught her how to scream louder than the rest of the chior! She makes a joyful noise!!! hehe! Beyonce’ does the same yodel runs over and over! Beyonce’ is still my girl, but after Melinds wins this competition, I’m becoming an unrestricted free agent!

As for the Color Purple I think she will be great. Oprah is not going to let her acting mess up this musical, this girl is about to have a acting coach attached to her hip right up until the play opens.

Meatloaf, I think the youngins Stephanie and Jordin are more talented than Lakisha and Melinda. I also think they will soon become front runners over their much older counterparts. Lakisha sang AITY a song that can make you look very good and her second week was less than stellar for me. Melinda sang average at best in her first week and her second week was a tad overhyped. OTOH Stephanie and Jordin both IMO showed more on their first two appearances.

This child cannot act her way outta a toilet bowl, that Fantasia Story was terrible, I will never get that precious hour and a half of my life back. But she can sing though Ciara, Cassie, and Ashanti take notes.

Good for her shell do well I’m sure. There is some acting involved in the play but lets not forget that it is a musical:) and she can sang. I can see her playing that rule) for now anyway! Shes a singer first and foremost and its not uncommon for plays to showcase duiferent singers in lead roles of play until they switch up , or actor actress does goes back to doing something else like working on and promoting their album. Example (Usher in Chicago) (Toni Braxton in Beauty and the Beast) etc etc
