Don’t ask me why, but I was randomly going through the Tyra Show website and came across a link to “Tyra’s Journals.” I clicked on “My Close Friend Kimora” and this pic popped up. Anyway here is what Tyra Banks had to say about her pal, Kimora:
Simmons was a good friend of mine. Friends ask me how the “Queen of Cheap” (me) can be friends with the “Queen of Fabulousity” (Kimora)! Let me tell you, Miss Fabulousity wasn’t always so fabulous. I met Kimora while modeling in Europe when I was 18 years old. I can honestly say I heard her before I saw her. She was a rail-thin, bushy haired, gawky 17 year-old and, oh yeah, she was LOUD.
While she may have been loud and outspoken, I saw a sweet innocence underneath that bigger-than-life exterior. I saw a girl who was loyal, supportative, and comforting to the people she loves. I saw girl who was a fashion icon, yet still a vulnerable baby, in a 6-Foot frame..
Is she complimenting her or dissing her? I’m confused.

yea they shouda left their noses. I feel like when Tyra was a model she felt she had to have this commercial exterior to get ahead in her career (the blone weave, the nose job, the perfect body).
Now that she is outside of that, she feels guilty for putting that false image out and on magazine covers. She knows that those Barbie images are damaging to the average girl’s self esteem and wants to do something about it.
My question is “Isn’t it to late?” I dont think that doing all this “so what” mess has any substace since she already made her fame and fortune off of being a black barbie.
The things black women do to keep an anglo look about themselves…..they were cute as hell, they both did not need no damned nose jobs when white folks are trying hard as hell to get our attributes and features. Anyhoo, I can’t stand Kimora-I’m so hood-Simmons. She really tries to make being “ghetto” fashionable. Whateva. I’ve been noticed both of their nose jobs for the longest time. A few years to be exact. People need to understand that when they get these nose jobs, they are very defined. So instead of a tell tale nose job a la Janet Jackson, sometimes we don’t notice the difference. But I am a black celebrity nose conneisseur(however you spell that). I can see a nose job a mile away. they usually get the tip, or the bridge more defined without making it look to dramatic. i’m not knocking them however. The environment they are in can break a black woman down. And even though I’m not gonna name my girl (yall know who), she has had a nose job whether you believe it or not. Matter-of-fact so did the entire group, including the old members, excluding the new one. It’s very slight since she never had a yowza on her face to begin with. But I won’t name her since I don’t want to be slaughtered via web.

What’s so f#$cked about Black people getting all the surgery, is that they made some level of success with their Black features. Then they fall right into the trap.
