Kelis was arrested early Friday morning in Miami Beach after screaming racial obscenities at two female police officers who were posing as prostitutes.
The officers were working an undercover operation in South Beach, when cops say Kelis started screaming racial slurs at the women. She continued screaming and rushed toward them, and had to be restrained by friends, a police report said. According to the report, Kelis’ “actions caused people walking by to stop and form a crowd. The sidewalk was blocked by the disturbance, causing people to walk in the street and causing traffic to stop.”
Kelis, the wife of rapper Nas, was charged with two misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and for resisting arrest.
A rep for Kelis had no comment.

Kelis was probably a little drunk, saw who I would presume to be white prostitudes and said something like “get your nasty white ass out the way” or something to do with their skin color. And they got made cause she probably fucked up a possible bust for them. So many possibilities…

Likely scenario (no joke): They probably thought Kelis was a prostitute, especially if Kelis was walking with a man. They said something off color or provocative to Kelis (as competing prostitutes often do — not realizing she was ‘Kelis the star’). Kelis got offended and embarrassed … and clowned out.
Charges will be dropped.

on the news, a spectator who captured some of the arrest on their camera phone claimed that the police over-reacted and kelis really didn’t deserve to be arrested. then they showed a clip of nas and kelis at a game, stating that they were both unaffected by the arrest. she did look a little tired though.

i think this is what happened: the undercover cops saw the pink hair probably thought Kelis was also a prostitute (yall know how Kelis dresses sometimes with the mini skirts etc)..so they probably said something to her to blend with the crowd. They probably asked Kelis: “Where can I get a quick John around here?” Then Kelis got mad..

99.9 percent of the police on South Beach are white and the few that are black are as over-zealous as the white officers. Just like this past summer when Gilbert Arenas got arrested because he was asking a officer what did his teammate do to get cuffs on him (turns out he threw a napkin on the ground and the boys wanted to punk him). Its always something with those cops.. They love high profile arrest. They also know when any rapper is in town.
