I am not claiming that R&B/Soul music is of the devil. But if you take it that gospel music fully celebrates Christ, and R&B/Soul basically covers a lot more of the worldly pleasures…it’s safe to say that R&B/Soul (no matter how good) isn’t gospel.
Now I love music from all genres. I own thousands of songs and albums. I can appreciate all the levels music can take you.
I personally love my Joe, Beyonce, Chante Moore, Brian McKnight, Musiq, Kelly Rowland, Meshell Ndgeocello, Joss Stone, Dwele, Angie Stone, Amy WineHouse, Lauryn Hill, etc etc cd’s, but I don’t think I’d feel to cool playing any of them in a church. 152. MusicMan, at my church, we sing some Luther, Freddie, Natalie Cole and the list goes on and on! If you understand music theory, you know that there are inspiration songs that work very well at weddings (some during Sunday service) and anniversaries!
