LLOYD BRINGS YOU “STREET LOVE”

streetlove.jpg

Lloyd is finally back to bring you “Street Love,” his much anticipate sophomore solo album. Although “Street Love” is scheduled to hit stores March 13th, the leak has come out. We’ve been teased over the past months with his first single, “You,” (featuring Lil’ Wayne, and its remix, featuring Andre 3000 & Nas), and the radio in recent weeks has been buzzing with the James Lackey-produced “Get It Shawty” (which Lloyd has just released a video for) and the vintage Michael Jackson-inspired “Valentine,” but Lloyd really came with some solid, good material on this Shonuff/Inc. collaboration. Although much different from his first album, “Southside,” Lloyd shows a bit more vocal ability as well as maturity in this new material. Looks like musically, he was determined to not suffer the sophomore slump.

We were asked to remove the Lloyd links, but please feel free to listen to the tracks streaming…

I really like this kid and have been a fan since
“Southside” which was a sick song minus Ashanti of course. He could have held that song on his own seriously. I haven’t listed to any tracks except Valentine but I have a feeling “Street Love” is worth copping. We’ll see..Good luck Lloyd.

  3. khinje

  5. dee

I’m loving the song certified and not too much of the others. The title track Sreet Love sounds like a Prince inspired joint.

  7. Soff

  8. Felisa

So…the cat’s growin’ on me. I’ve only checked “Incredible” but it’s such a nice, sweet feel-good track. It’s like being on cloud nine after finding out someone you’re interested in likes you back. Fine…it’s high school, but it’s nice to have somethin’ lighthearted.

ok i am loving every song i have heard from him. will be getting the cd.

  14. At least it sounds better than Chris Brown’s bad album.

  15. Stan

I liked this guy’s style–he’s grown on me, especially the song “You”. Can’t wait to hear the entire CD.

  16. sharonda

    ummmmmm ok lloyd aight now..

  17. Brooklyn

Im surprised. I knew Lloyd could sing, but I expected everything else to be less than “You”. I wasn’t going to listen, but I said . why not. Now I’m sitting here in shock. Very well made album. The songs are great quality, the harmonies, the vocal arrangement is fantastic. U can tell he’s inspired by MJ, and he pulls it off great.

I’m in shock. I’m gonna get the album and tell everyone about it. I’m happy, finally someones making QUALITY and its still catchy and fresh.

    Love

  32. Dave

For those of you who didnt know Lloyd was in a corny kid group back in the day. Sammie’s in the video too.

    http://youtube.com/watch?v=xg-ZJq4mZ_s

  33. Dave

Ok that song Hazel is clearly about Purple Haze. Niggas think they slick. Lol. I could see myself smokin to this joint tho.

  34. dree

  39. Tam

    Dang CL…

Ya’ll got the boys whole album up here lol. Well, I’m glad to see that he’s keeping the hitz coming instead of making ONE and then dissapearing as he’s done in the past.

@ COMPTON CHICK…what kind of hair is that, if you don’t mind me asking ;)

  40. Soff

hazel is bangin…”lemme check out the purple highlights in your hair” hahaha

  41. HARSH CRETIC

#35 & #40 yall are pretty smart folks. Hazel is about Purple haze…he definitely disguised it well enough that you can play it and no one would know. It’s up there with D’Angelo’s BROWN SUGAR.This kid has suprised me & i’. critical of everyone. LISTEN!!! He hasthis song titled PLAYER’s PRAYER and its BEYOND SICK!!! Every woman in THW WORLD will lose it after hearing it. I’l bet my house on it! He has my $10

  42. Baby doll

I cant believe I like every one of these song and he reminds me so much of MJ
    Michael Jackson
    For some strange reason
Im getting this album and no not the boot lEgg the real deal.

  43. I love him. I’m never a fan of anyone really really.

  46. Kingof Klubz

I have the bootleg and I definitely going to cop the real thing. Guess what, there ain’t no snap/R&B track on the album! Other ATL R&B artists please take notes from Lloyd.

  47. T

    homegirl’s HAIR is HOT!!!!

  48. big r

lol @ 48 damn i totally feel you..im from the north so i really dont feel like hearing all the snapping crap….

  49. Im Lovin Lloyd right now! That Certified track is FIRE! I really hope this CD does well…

  50. He drops the album what a year or more after the singles.?

  51. speedracer

I just checked out the whole album and its not bad, not bad at all. I already been diggin “You”. My only problems with this kat is his voice and attitude. I normally hate dudes this voices like his (main reason i can’t stand Chris B.). Second i’m not sure i buy this dudes “Street” edge. Seems a lil forced to me where it comes off as if hes trying to prove how smooth and how hood he is. If he really had it in him he wouldn’t have to state it so much. But i do think imma cop this on the 13th.

  52. ms_mac

Good lawd CL. Please post something new already before I tazer my own cornea. Looking at Bert — I mean Lloyd — is so painful to me.

  53. ijeoma aka jai

lloyd’s steppin’ it up, though. :) me likes…

i love how Jazze Pha pulled a B. Cox on us and acted like that there song Incredible didn’t sound JUST LIKE One More Chance by Chris Brown. Just because it was unreleased, Pha, doesn’t mean no one heard it yet….dumbass. :|

  54. Atl_1987

I’m feeling it. If you guys never copped the first album, I recommend his song “Feels So Right” from Southside…that track made me a fan!

  55. Damn, Llyod killin it this time around. I’m gonna get the album, me being an R&b fan/artist myself..

  56. I finally took the time to sit and listen to the entire cd and I must say that it is pretty chill! He certainly included plenty of baby makin tracks and I’m not mad at that, lol… He did his thang so, I gotta give him props for this one…
