Sorry about the lack of updates, guys! Right out of midterms, was spring break, but now it’s time to get back on track! Looks like the veteran (who is currently working on what will be one of the most anticipated albums of this year) has hooked up with the new school for the remix of his hit song, “Icebox” from his sophomore solo set, “21.” The official remix, although with the same production, has completely different lyrics and really, surprisingly was a good vocal match-up. Usher and Omarion’s voices compliment eachother well, and I’m sure that this remix may give Omarion’s album the push it needs to get to where it needs to be on the charts. Not only that, but it’s a nice way for Usher to make his announcement back into the scene. Looks like he’s who the R&B cats are going to have to compete with this time around, if his album is half as good as “Confessions.” Shout outs to my homie, J. Que from The Clutch!

I don’t really like this collabo… but then again I am not really a big fan of male/male or female/female collabos… Someone always seems out of place…. I always end up liking the way that one of them sings the song better and would much rather hear them singing by themselves… The male/female collabs sound much better IMO…

For Usher to give “yung boi” a little advice on his verse (remember “Confessions”) was a good look for both of the gentlemen. Thanx Brian for making it happen once again!!!!!

I’ve never been a fan of Usher collaborations. He doesn’t know when to shut up and share–always screaming over somebody. I remember a few years back when BET did its Luther Vandross Walk of Fame Special, Usher was joined on stage by Luther himself for a duet. Every time Luther opened his mouth it seemed like Usher had to jump on top of his vocals. The Ab Libbing was like a death duo for airwaves. All I could think of was, “Jesus, Usher! Let the man sing.”

This is actually very funny to me. About a year or so ago, Usher was on 106 And Park and was asked a question which was, “Are there any R&Bs singers out there right now that you are feelin?” He had absolutely no comment he made a remark in regards to having good role models to look up to when your in the music industry and in so many words that every one had a similar sound . If you know how to read through the red tape thats what you will decipher. Through his interview he went on to saying “He’s letting the other R&B singers play with it” music that is, until he gets back, being that he is on Broadway doing the Chicago musical. NOw who’s ridding whos musical skirt tales is the real question. I stil admire Usher and his musical co writting and arrangements partner Robin Thick who yes did write and produce most of the songs on his last album Confessions.
