Radio has seemed to have taking a liking to Ciara’s new single, “Like A Boy,” produced and written by The Clutch. The video edit is a little different than the album version and the version played on the radio. I’d gotten a couple of e-mails about the video version of the song after the video was posted here, so I decided I’d posted up for those who were eager to get their hands on it.

Several weeks ago, I posted a version of “Beautiful Liar” with just Beyonce, but she’s added Shakira to the song, and yesterday, premiered a video for the song. I wasn’t fond of it then, and although I like the video, I’m still not particularly keen on the song. I don’t think it fits the overall tone of “B’Day,” and I really don’t see why it’s being put on the re-release, which is due out April 3rd. But nonetheless, it is Beyonce, and there is a video, which has Shakira in it, so the general public will probably be in love with it.

Chilli is making an emergence into the solo scene with a new album. Sources have said that she’s working Akon’s Konvict Music label, who has brought you T-Pain. I remember reading somewhere that Akon was producing a large portion of the album, however this new song, which I am definitely not fond of, seems like it was produced by Missy Elliott (considering her guest feature), and has Sean Garrett on the writing credits. I think Chilli either needs to hit the studio again or just throw in the towel. She’s not even really singing on this song.
Johnta Austin & Mary J. Blige – Hood Love (full) – download
Johnta Austin’s single “Turn It Up” got a little radio play, there was a vide for it, but for some reason, that wasn’t enough to jump it off into any sort of success, which seems to be the trap that a lot of writers-turned-artists of our time. They can get success for everyone but themselves. Either way, I am a fan of Johnta’s music just because he is such a talented guy. This is a classic Bryan-Michael Cox track, I’m definitely loving the production. I believe I read somewhere that this song would be left off of Johnta’s debut album.

Missy really needs to let Tim do all the producing from now on. She has wrecked Tweet and Monica imo. Straight Jack is not even half as good as Gameproof (which says alot). I agree Chilli needs to come harder or go away. Beautiful Liar? Two words: HOT Garbage! Bouncy still has failed to channel her fierce alter-ego, Sasha. I really thought she was going to use the re-release to redeem herself, but instead she decides to go further downhill. And might I add, the video only reinforces her image as one of the leading swagger jackers in the industry. Enough about her though. Other than Get Up and Promise, Goodies Pt 2 is also garbage. There is not another hit on that album which explains why Cici was trying to milk Promise with an R.Kelly remix (ugh!) In conclusion (lol), all the songs pretty much suck these week, thanks tho

My view of beautiful liar still stands I liked it w/o shakira. her voice kinda throughs it off for me. I know her voice sounds”ok” on her music but she didn’t pull it off on this one. However, these two equal pop sensation which means sells, period.
And I don’t understand why people are so into Like a Boy to me it is the wackest on the album. But who cares. I wish she could be like a singer, LOL!!

It’s produced by Calvo Da Gr8 trust me and I don’t even like Ciara like that, and I really don’t even like the song because she’s not singing. But you have to give credit where credit is due.

I actually liked Beautiful Liar. I was kinda of skeptical about Beyonce and Sharika doing a song together but when I heard the song it wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be. I like Sharika and she was doing her thing in this video. As for Chilli’s song, it was boring and about put me to sleep. I was disappointed when I heard the song. She really could of done a lot better than this. It was dull boring and it didn’t really catch my attention. Hopefully, she will come out with some better songs than this. Mary J and Johnta’s song I really wasn’t feeling it too much. Overall this music review reeks.

OK, so I’m gonna admit that ever since Ciara came out I Been hatin hard cause she has the vocal talent of a wet cardboard box, but I will admit that this chick knows how to get good producers, cause “Like A Boy” does make me tap my toe (even tho sometimes it seems like she isnt singing on any beat, shes just throwing words together) but unfortunately when I’m done tapping my toe I am still plagues with the fact that she can’t sing and the song sounds reminiscent of a Zales Diamond commercial……Unfortunately the music industry needs a jumpstart with singers that CAN ACTUALLY SING….cause if Ciara would have come out at any other time she would’ve been a filler artist who faded to black……..(By the way the track was jointly produced by The Clutch and Calvo Da Gr8)
Now Beautiful Liar has good vocals from both parties, but I can’t get over how the production sounds like it was made in Mathew Knowles basement with a Casio keyboard, and some samples of a spanish horn….The Beat is too throback sounding like circa 1999….But never the less Beyonce and Shakira have proven themselves as true artists so I don’t think that they needed to come out with anything super Hott…But I think either come hard or don’t come at all…..
