THE NEW MUSIC REVIEW

Monday, March 5, 2007

Kelly Rowland feat. Lil’ Wayne - All On U (full) - REMOVED
From Sly Doggie Productions (the writers of “All On U.”): “All On U” features Lil Wayne, however, the singer on the track is not Kelly Rowland. The song was originally written for submission to Ms. Kelly Rowland, but there is no word on whether she will rerecord for her upcoming album or any future projects. Lauren Evans, a talented singer, is the female vocalist on the track. Check out Sly Doggie Productions on MySpace.

Nicole Scherzinger & Rihanna - Winning Women (full) - download
Not feeling this song at all. I dig the message, female empowerment is great and all of that, but I don’t know what they were going for as far as the sound. Nicole Scherzinger’s voice is so much more than this, I don’t understand why she’d down-play it to be on a track with Rihanna. I guess that this would make a good dance record, but I just don’t see this getting radio spins. More on this later, when I find out what project this is from.

Tori Alamaze - Freaky Boys (full) - download
Don’t know who she is? Well, you’ve heard her song before. Tori was the original young lady to record the Pussycat Dolls’ first single, “Don’tcha” and also sang and danced back-up for OutKast during Love Below/Speakerboxxx days. Tori is back in the studio, working on some new material. I thought I’d post this song up, considering that the only time you guys have heard Tori’s music is during the “Who Sang It Better?” category here on CL. Shoot Tori a holler on her MySpace page!

Lloyd - Get It, Shawty! (full) - download
Okay, so I lied, but this is really the last time I’m posting this song. As soon as the video was released, I was surprised to see that Lloyd had added his own rap, unlike previous versions which featured just him singing, a Yung Joc guest appearance as well as a remix done by my homeboy Drake. This is the 4th and final version that I’ve heard, although there is rumoredly a remix with Missy Elliott floating around. It’d be pretty funny if she started to pop on everything again.

wow I LOVE THE RIHANNA TRACK. I can’t wait for the new album.

The production is dope although it seems disjointed, like 2 songs in one.

I like that Rihanna is trying out new things.

Its nice the Rihanna is helping Nicole out. Rihanna is bigger star.

The Rihanna song is for a deordorant.

Exerpt

“Two beautiful women Rihanna and Nicole Scherzinger have come together in Boston to record a new single for Secret deodorant entitled ‘Willing Women’. You can hear the single now, it’s not so bad for a deodorant song which was produced by Sean Garrett.”

She sounds more like Christina Milian in that song. Lil Wayne needs to sit his ass down and start working on that next album.

No way that Nicole/Rihanna song can even be considered a collabo. You hardly hear Rihanna on it! Ms. Scherzinger is all over it.

I don’t see the point.

I’M STRAIGHT UP DIGGIN “TORI ALAMAZE’S” JOINT…THAT SHIT IS STRAIGHT FIYAH…it is something new…and it’s different..it’s nothing in what I’m hearing on the radio..this is something you wouldn’t catch Beyonce coming out with or any other artist……it’s different and it’s fiyah…i’m diggin the beat

Monday, March 5, 2007 /

Rhianna and Nicole are on to something—you know the women are looking for a new anthem to replace “Irreplaceable”_–Bey is sooooo overexposed. All they need to do with this is cut a slappin set of 20 bars into this (maybe Andre 3000 or Big Boi) and this would be a certified stunna for the summer dance parties…Just a thought!:-)

#24 NIcole is a bigger star than Rihanna.

and The “Winning Women” song is not a valid single. It is only for promotion for the Secret Deodorant Line.

Monday, March 5, 2007 /

Sorry but that rihanna/nicole song sound like a disney channel star made it (and im not talkin bout the successful ones like hilary or lindsay). The beat is straight up wack and thats retarded cause both rihanna and nicole have had some raw ass beats. I dont see this becoming a girl anthem, i’d rather gve “Like a boy” the title for the next anthem than this bullshit!

26.

Xtina

Monday, March 5, 2007 /

Is this Tori lady serious?! She seems a little too old to be “singing” about freaky boys. This song has no substance and is so not a club-banger. Damn, the music industry as a whole needs to step up its game. Call me a hater, but I call it as I see it.

Number 45 there is no reason to go personally insulting Brian. He’s exposing you to new music for FREE. If you don’t like it, go create your own blog and try to do HALF as well as the folks here in the LOOP and put up with lame complainers like yourself.

Good Gawd, that Nicole/Rihanna joint is ATROCIOUS!!!

If you’re going to bite a concept (i.e., “Independent Women” / “World Wide Woman”) — come better, for goodness sakes!

That was laughable.

Please get over it. How are they copying off of Beyonce or biting off of her? I hear no comparisons. There is no similarities. Please shut yo dumb ass up.

Since the overwhelming majority said the songs are wack, I wont waste my time DL-ing them. Speaking of Kelly Ro, how is Beyonce releasing 8 videos and she cant even get a single out? Yes, I brought beyawnce Knowles into this. What are you going to do about it?

What do I base that statement on? Nicole is much bigger than Rihanna. She is the reason why PCD has sold 5 mill worldwide. When she goes solo she will do better than Rihanna. I like Rihanna too, but she won’t be as big as Nicole. So obviously you’re an Rihanna fan. And by you saying Rihanna is helping Nicole out first off, That is not Nicole’s song from her solo. It’s a promotional song for Secret Deodorant. And Rihanna was asked “who she wanted to be on the song with her?” she said “Nicole”….so who’s helping who?

“All on U”- Like the Earth, Wind, and Fire sample. But that’s it….The vocal arrangement does not complement the music at all.

“Freaky Boyz”- It’s obvious that Vanity 6 influenced the artist’s musical style. Lyrics are indeed freaky- but the beat is tight.

“All on U”- Like the Earth Wind and Fire sample. But the vocal arrangement does not complement the music at all.

“Freaky Boyz”- It’s obvious that the artist’s musical style is heavily influenced by the club music of the 1980s- more specifically Vanity 6 (”Nasty Girls”). Lyrics are indeed freaky- but the beat is tight!

Miss Missy, you’re right. It has a 80s feel and the beat is banging. Tori (don’t know who she is still) did right with this song. I want to get the single. Is that possible?
