Q. Amey – You Make Me Say (full) – download
My boy Q. Amey has a new song leaked, produced by the Corner Boyz, like a lot of his material. I like other tracks that I’ve heard a little more, but Q.’s voice really is nice to me. I just can remember him singing in highschool and thinking that he was going to be signed to somebody’s label. I just hope that Q. gets the shine that he deserves, and that his project gets a solidified date.

I have been slightly impressed with the couple of songs that I’ve heard from Mario’s new project, “Go!” Although my favorites have been the Neptunes-produced titled track, “Go!” and the Polow Da Don-produced “Crying Out For Me,” I kind of like “What Is It Gonna Be?” The production is tight, and I think that Mario is sounding like a mature adult, because, although “Let Me Love You” was a huge song for him, I felt like the material and content on his sophomore set, “Turning Point” was slightly mediocre. I can say that the few songs I’ve heard from this new project has got me slightly amped.

Bobby Valentino’s “Special Occasion” comes out May 8th, tentatively. It’s about time. “Anonymous,” the new single produced by Timbaland and written by the good people of The Clutch, has been the #1 added song to urban radio. “That Thing,” produced by Tim & Bob, however, sounds like something left off of the sessions from his first album, so I’m not near as impressed with this as I was with “Anonymous.” However, I still wish him the best of luck on his new project. I just hope that the bulk of it doesn’t leak several weeks before it’s release.

Now, this is a little different from what I expected from MIMS (Music Is My Savior), considering the “This Is Why I’m Hot” single that everyone seems to be in love with in the Atlanta area (except for me, of course). The good people at Capitol Records tapped labelmate Letoya Luckett for a feature, and it actually turned out pretty nice. I thought the whole album would be a whole bunch of snapping and what have you.
Listen to the rest later. Love LeToya, but MIMS track sounds like another thug in love song. I’ll listen to it more to get a good feel.

Someone asked if we could hear that Mario’s single sounds screwed, and it does. It’s not the track, or background vocals, it’s his lead vocals. That’s not mature to me, that’s just plain weird. But other than that, I am feeling the song.

LeToya killed it on that MIMS track. That’s really the only reason I listen to that now. MIMS’ verses are growing on me but LeToya owned that song just like Ciara did on that Field Mob song.
