THE NEW MUSIC REVIEW

Beyonce – Welcome to Hollywood (full) – download
This is basically the same as “Hollywood” from Jay-Z’s “Kingdom Come,” with some added vocals and adlibs and less Hov. It’s interesting to see what Beyonce did with his parts. Apparently, for some odd reason, this is going to be on the re-release of “B’Day” (due out April 3) as if it’s something that we’ve never heard before. I’m not hating, I just don’t really see how it fits into the rest of the album. But I’ll admit it, Beyonce’s re-recorded vocals and adlibs are pretty fun.

Sterling Simms – Nasty Girl (full) – download
So much better than that “Jump Off” mess that Sterling is trying to put out right now. Although I can see why this isn’t a single, “Nasty Girl” is giving me what I need. It has a very retro feel and I’m also digging Sterling’s delivery on this song. Those who know me, and have been reading the site for a while, know that I’m absolutely in love with Prince’s music and it definitely gives me that kind of vibe. If there is more material on his album like this, and less like “Jump Off,” I’m definitely in support of it. Because this is dope.

Drake feat. Andreena Mills – Closer (full) – download
Drake is coming out with a second mixtape as a sequel to “Room For Improvement” and here’s a track from the new mixtape. I really loved the song “Closer” from Goapele, so this is really nice to me. Drake’s flow is sick, and I like the vocalist, she has a really nice voice. If you’re looking forward to hearing more about Drake’s new mixtape, check out thisisdrake.com or peep his MySpace page.

Timbaland feat. Keri Hilson & Attitude – Hello (full) – download
This is bonus track from “Shock Value,” Timbaland’s new album, due out Tuesday, April 3rd. I can see why the track was left off the album, because “Shock Value” has a more progressive sound, however, “Hello” sounds, to me, like some old school Timbaland. Keri Hilson kills it though, it’s good to hear more of her voice. I really enjoy her rapping. She never oversings… it’s like her voice just floats over the track. It’s good to hear Attitude back at it too.

  1. Heard “Welcome To Hollywood”, strange to see why she tuned up the name. Tim and Keri sound cool. I wonder when Keri’s album is coming out? Sterling, something about him sounds like a knock off Omarion.

  2. Attitude’s flow is sick.

  3. Okay, about Sterling… I’m sensing a 80s/kind of MJ vibe from that song… sounds nice, but still, something about him is just not there, maybe…

  4. Candie

Go Bee, keep making that paper. I’m not mad at that. Attitude i’m feelin’ too.

  5. addictive

i like the beyonce joint…it has its perks being Jay-z’s girl…not the best song though buts it good

  6. I am really feeling Drake right about now, he is really doing his thing and Adreena Mills’ voice is sick!!! Attitude has a nice chill tone sounds more like old school Timbo IMO… me likes!

  7. Belle 07 White

  8. Belle 07 White

I WAS REFERRING 2 “WELCOME TO HOLLYWOOD”

  9. Moi

I could have done without the Welcome to Hollywood song, but the Timbaland and Sterling Simms cuts are hot. Sterling sounds like MJ to me…hmm

  10. thats ho shit

i forgot to comment on the other songs.

hollywood is blah. So far im not feeling any of the newly released songs from b’day. “flaws and all” and “if” were absolutely horrendous. then again those were snippets that i heard, so maybe i should give them a chance. But no one should get a chance to suck.

and drake…well… he sucks too. but i havent liked rap since ’02, so thats just me.

  11. Attitde sound like Big Boi…but yeah good think they left it off the album, its aight

    what up belle 07 white!

  12. crunkpoet

dont really like that sterling…that beyonce shit sucks..she is going down in flames….downloading the other 2 songs now..im sure they are hot though..cause drake is nice and so is KERI!!

  13. TaTa

I haven’t heard any of it. I’ve been living under a rock for almost a year. But Sterling is kinda cute. He could get it. How old is he anywayz? I can’t lust after no jail-bait…

  19. datone

DON’T LIKE the new Hollywood, the original is so much better.

  20. yes

Welcome to Hollywood was kinda boring. Didn’t like Nasty Girl. I liked Closer, Goapele sounds better though doin that part though. I didn’t listen to Hello too long, but it wasn’t bad. I could see Ludacris rappin that.

  21. Oops… I meant Hello, not Attitude, lol

  22. Why Try?

Bey…gotta love her. Not my favorite, but I didn’t really give it a chance. Maybe it will grow on me.

Sterling is circa MJ. Definitely sounds old school.

    Drake is HOTT!!!

The world is truly NOT ready for Keri!! Great song. Micommunication, The Way I Are, & Scream are my favorite tracks from Shock Value. Good to hear from Attitude reppin’ the “A,” Alabama, that is. LOL

    Great Job Brian!

  23. Miss Godiva D'or

I like “Nasty Girl” It makes me feel like listening to Micheal or Prince. I like the Drake song too. It had dept…”Hollywood” did not….the whole song should have started from the end when she’s singing about Hollywood and drugs. I can’t expect that much dept from her though. I like Keri’s voice she’s what we need in music. Girl is like Nate Dogg singing hooks. She should not release an album until she has a couple of number 1 songs that she’s featured in. In my opinion!

  24. sharonda

i guess an 80s jump off beat get you some airplay.

  25. Don't Worry About it

Closer was a song on one of Goapele’s earlier albums…i prefer her version to Drake’s…

  26. Olivia_Fanz

Olivia has been dropped from G-unit as of 3/26/07 .
The Singer reportly has been Sexually Harrassed on numerous occasions by members of the G-unit roster aswell as the boss himself Curtis ” 50 Cent ” Jackson , Her un-willingness to oblige to these sexual invites lead to her departure from the G-unit/ Interscope imprint. Olivia has been in talks with other labels and looking over new deals , so fans should not fret for she will get another chance at music.

P.s. Behind Closed Doors ( Her Album recorded during her stint at G-unit) is going to be leaked very very soon !

*******************This is all from a very close , sincere & reliable source************************

  27. Belle 07 White

hEY j.lWEIS! LOL. STERLING IS KINDA CUTE…SO IS DRAKE.

^^^That is a damn shame. And I don’t believe that ciara is with 25 cents, she is too smart for that conniving loser. I’m glad that olivia did not give in. If I were olivia i would take legal action against G-unot asap.

  29. DC3BKM

Love the B track! Um, where did u hear Ms. Olivia left G-Unit records?

  30. TeTe

that sterling does sound like an mj track.

didnt even bother to listen to beyonce..i love her but i feel like im goin to O’D

i loved goapele’s closer too.i love anything goapele.anyway,im feelin this track.DRAKE has become a favorite to listen to.i played “Replacement Girl” so much that i cant listen to it right now.lol

  31. Why Try?

^^^ This industry is too damn tough with women. There are so many young girl victim of sexual pressure, I’m so glad Olivia give in. Poor girl, I can’t wait to hear her story. I used to love Olivia, and I always thought that signing with G-Unit was a biggest mistake.

  33. corr : I’m so glad Olivia “DIDN’T” give in.

  34. So That Diva

@ #35 Um…..about Olivia. I am with you and I feel for her being dropped for not complying with the sexual advances but I simply would have dropped her for lack of talent. That chile could not sing or dance to begin with. Be honest! LOL
Anyways, I dont think any lady is going to have a home with G-Unit. I think Charlie B-More, Vita or Remy would have more of a fit with that crew. Liv is better off w/o them!

  35. So That Diva

*Sorry that was meant for #28, not 35 (sorry Chante)

  36. lmao

Beyonce sucks majorly, I really like Tim & Kerri’s joint.

  37. lmao

    Drake’s not too bad either.

  38. dre

That Drake guy is trash!! Who is he and why do you keep posting his wack music?

  39. TrueGoodGirl

umm love Beyonce but i’m not a fan of her version and in the end she says Don Belushi instead of Jon Belushi. That was kind of an uh oh.

  40. Im feelin that Timbo track

Didnt listen to Beyonce’s as yet

    Drake’s is ok

    No comment on the other

  41. NAKIA

ARE ANY OF THESE SONGS ON SUPLOAD. CAN SOMEBODY PROVIDE A LINK FOR ME. I’M AT WORK AND MOST OF THE “FILE STORAGE” SITES ARE BLOCKED. BANK PARANOIA YOU KNOW.

  42. DiggahDiggah

I wanna comment about the Timbaland track. I love it! The other day I commented about how Timb is re-inventing his sound now days , but I prefer the old school chill Timbo from back in the day with Aaliyah and Ginuwine and the whole Blackground crew. With that said, I love this new track because it reminds me of the old Timbaland (post Nelly Furtado and Justin Timberlake), yet it still has a modern flavor. It sounds like something Aaliyah would have been on today is she were still here.

  43. That Drake track is tight. Goapele is the shit so you really can’t go wrong rapping over that melody/beat. It’s the hotness!

  44. Angelina718

This Drake song is quite sickening. How do you sample a song that is only 4 years old if that? No one has any kind of creativity anymore. Damn you Diddy! It’s all your fault!

  45. I feeling (Closer) it’s that type of song your man puts on when you and him are just cruising and nothing else seems to matter but the two of you.

  46. redvelvet1

^^^Ummm… because this song is from his mixtape, and that’s what you’re supposed to do on a mixtape, lol!
    Where you been??

  47. I tihnk Drake’s the sickest dude in the game right about now ; perfect.

  48. Angelina718

Look @ Redvelvet trying to school mama on mix tapes. LOL. No lesson necessary boo boo. A mix tape is just what its name implies. A mix tape didn’t start off as steal everyones beats and rhyme over them. That might be what you think it is, but guess again. That’s most definitely not what it is. It was to showcase new songs not only from up and coming artists but people who were already established.

  49. redvelvet1

Well boo boo, that might be what it started off as but that definitely is not what most artists do now a days, like it or not that’s just the way it is!!! No beef here mama!

  50. Asiaticdiva

Hollywood is one of my fav from Kingdown Come, if Bee wanted to put it on her re-release she should have stuck with the original. It sounds WAY better. Its weak without Jay’s verses. He gave it that spunk. Not feeling it.

  51. Angelina718

No shade here either. I guess I’m just showing my age by telling it how it was and how it should be. Murdering one of my favorite songs is just plain ol wack to me.

  52. redvelvet1

It’s cool, Angelina… I actually feel where you’re coming from! Change is not always a good thing ;) and Goapele definitely did it best!

  53. Jazzy Jay

WELL, i for one love the song closer by ms goapele. And they should have not re done it. Much BETTER with her. As for Welcome to Hollywood. As much as i love Beyonce she should have left that shit alone. Jay AND her make the song, it sounds plain without him. She is doing too much!

  54. POBOI

B must be the hardest working woman in the industry.

  55. Samantha

love Drakes track reminds me of the 80′s
