I am a Bee fan and I like them both the same. As for BTW, I like the lyrics. She wanted to make it her own and she did it. But I heard about this site and how some posters feel about Bee so I don’t even want to argue with anyone in here about the validity of my 2nd fav. artist.

@74 you have it wrong. true vocalists can take a song that has the SAME EXACT LYRICS and make it their own. bey had to change the lyrics to make it her own.

case in point, whitney made “i will always love you” HER song with the same exact lyrics that dolly parton used. the song was already big when dolly sang it but whitney brought it to another level. bey avoided this by making her own lyrics which don’t enhance the song at all

To NYer: it is all subjective. I usually think the original is always better than the cover, actually it is not a cover but a sample. Still, I think Bee did a good job. I don’t expect it to sound like the original, she took it made it her own which is what a vocalist is suppose to do.

#91: Don’t forget about Speechless, and Be with you. DIL was mostly ballads and midtempo songs. That’s what people don’t realize. They think of her in the CIL booty hoppin’ artist but don’t realize that DIL was a traditional typical R&B album.

And another thing, a person does not need ballads to show how great their voice is. Janet is not a powerhouse vocalist(she is better than people she is) but her ballads to me are better than her uptempo songs. Just because Bee did an album of Uptempos does not mean she can sing. Her voice comes out better because her voice comes out better.

I love M.I.A., so therefore I like te Tim track. I like Beyonce’s rendition of Kissing you better than the Romeo & Juliet version. The orginal artist’s (Des’Ree’) voice is mad deep.

The Beyonce song is alright. What I don’t like about her version is, she is forever trying to hit a run. I mean, on every sentence of that song there is a run at the end. That gets on my nerve. But she do that with every song.

(It’s the same damn title……) Regardless of the spin she put on it…. There are some songs that I believe that shold not even be allowed to be remade, and this is one of them…… I like almost all of B’s stuff, but with this she went too far! Let it go and do some old Xscape songs, but not this….. This is a sacred song!
