TIMBALAND PRESENTS… SHOCK VALUE

shockvalue.jpg

Timbaland really has been coming with heat since ’06. From the hot productions on Nelly Furtado’s “Loose,” Justin Timberlake’s “FutureSex/LoveSounds,” to the random tracks he’s had floating on previous and upcoming releases, it’s definitely been all about him the past few months. And with that being said, Timbaland hasn’t had a solo album since “Tim’s Bio: Life From da Basement,” which was released in 1998. Of course, he’s done guest features, and had an album out in 2003 with long-time rap partner, Magoo, but nothing completely to himself. Although “Shock Value” is full of cameos and guest appearances from Keri Hilson, younger brother Sebastian, The Hives, Justin Timberlake and Nelly Furtado, to name a few, I think Timbaland wants to show us that he can make hot music for himself, not just other people…

  3. I like Apologize, Time and Throw It On me. Go Timbo

  4. QBEVE

Damn that would be a first…a lot of collabo’s on Tim’s part. I think Kill yourself is that joint for that Ugly azz white dude named Scott Storch that used to work with Tim. But I think Tim is going to main stream pop? Maybe that’s where he figures where the dough is? After Nelly Furtado, and Justin, he just ain’t coming back with the hard R&B Hip-Hop Beats/Hits no more? Where the hell is Magoo?

  5. ldm1192

  7. All of his tracks are definatly different. He only sounds like himself! It’ll be cool album for the summer. Nice beats!

  8. I love the track with Ms. Keri Hilson. That girl has vocals… I wish could put it on my iPod though..

  9. ~SWEETS~

I haven’t heard all the songs yet, but I hope to hear some fiyah from him. I’ve always liked Timbo! GOOD LUCK 2 HIM!!!!!!

  10. Moni in Cali

I love me some Timbaland. Is that pic new? He looks like he lost some weight.

  11. B-zillian Fiyyah

Yeah he lost weight last time i saw him he was drinkin crystal light n stuff but yeah this hot for the club n all but i would pop it on just to hear it

  12. rachel

  13. Why Try?

Sounds good! BUT……….When the heck is Keri’s album coming out???? I have been anticipating that one for months!!!

  14. thats ho shit

i love timbo. Tim’s Bio had some good ass songs on it, i just hope this album measures up.

  15. sharonda

I can’t wait til Keri album come out..

  16. SHAWN

I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN CONVINCED AND FACTS HAVE PROOVEN THAT TIMBO AND JD ARE THE TWO MOST TALENTED AFRICAN AMERICAN PRODUCERS IN THE GAME

    GO TIMBO…………!
    I`M BUYING THE ALBUM

  17. msblacknasty1

he looks good in the pic he seems like a very nice dude

  18. RC

Oh BOOO! THis is Pop Timbaland. I really (REALLY) miss Rap/R&B Timbaland. None of these beats compare to his best work back in the day. I can think of dozens of Aaliyah, Missy and Ginuwine tracks that easily trump everything on this album. You can’t knock someone for changing up their style, but its still disappointing.

  19. Manda

    Timbaland is an amazing producer.
He was in pittsburgh last night for Justin’s concert & mixed live music for a good 30 minutes straight with the craziest visuals.

  20. new yorker

i didn’t know keri could sing like that. i think the raspiness in her voice is cute

  21. Compton_Chick23

    @17

    JD is a horrible producer

  22. Ja

I agree RC, Timbaland is really bubblegum pop now. His beats on the album are good, but it too synthesized. After a while, i’ll be tired at all of that. It’s not enough to just have ‘tight’ beats (cliche’), I think you should have good lyrics also. I miss the days of real musicianship. We all can get fruityloops and make ‘tight’ beats (cliche’).

That’s just my opinion. Timbaland is one of my favorite producers still.

  23. James Derry'l

Ok.. You guys all have good opinions, but Omg. I saw timbaland at Justin’s show last friday and Omg he was AMAZING. he did the intermission, and it was hott. When we left the show there were shock Value posters in the road && i wanted it, but my friend wanted 2 get home so i left it.. and it’s been bothering me. Timbaland is amazingly talented && I hope to take over for him in the future! That Miscommunication joint is Sick! I’ve had it for some time now and it’s been on my iTunes rotation for a while! I can’t wait for this cd to drop && Leak so i can get that mess! Timbaland is tha’ S*** && Yhea, he’s pretty mainstream pop, but the man has versatility.

  24. @ #19 RC… I respect your opinion but I think that is part of what makes Timbo so good… He is not limited by genre… He can produce great music for Jay-Z one day, hits for Nelly and Justin another and then turn around and do the dang thing for groups like The Hives and Fall Out Boy… He is so dang versitile and I give him much respect for that!!!

  25. *versatile… Sorry Meatloaf, just couldn’t help myself, lol!

  26. lilmaria1212

top of the list producers like him can do multiple genres. his unique style is appreciated by all so why not get tha money from all sides of tha buisness? and its not like he’s a god or anything but i’d say hes way better than JD…

  27. RC

I respect that his work now is crossing all types of genres, and once again, I can’t knock his hustle. Its done him very well, but most of his current work doesn’t remind me why he’s my favorite producer, that’s all. And JD isn’t shit in comparison to Pharrell, let alone Timbo.

  28. Save That Cheerleader

I wish Aaliyah was still alive. She was Timbaland’s muse. He was most creative and free with her.

  29. Shaft

bla bla bla bla..sellout.and i dont use thatterm loosely either..but..yeah…

  30. I only like the joint with Keri Hilson, it’s mad hot, minus Sebastian’s part (Tim’s brother). Sebastian ruined the shit, damn! His flow and lyrics suck!! I don’t like any of the other joints, it’s nice to be versatile but I’m really not feeling the end result, the songs bore me!

  31. Yes!!!!!!!!

Number 22, I agree with you. But Danja should get most of Tim’s credit!

  32. boo

has his album leaked as yet cant seem to find it online

  33. saction

they sound kinda wack, sorry timbo

  34. Ms. G

I can’t stand that new tune of his with Nelly Furtado and JT (‘Give It To Me’?) but I really like Miscommunication and Kill Yourself is so-so.

  35. Dave

Stick to producing because even though the songs sound pretty good Timbaland sounds like the feature artist on many of them. Hes not even rapping/half singing on many of the tracks posted above.

  36. sharonda

as i was sitting here listening to one in a million i say his beats were much better back than than what he putting out now,but I do like miscommunication.but he good at what he do.

  37. hood_shit

I hate Timbaland. Creative- YES! Donkey- YES SQUARED!

  38. I DONT NEED TO HEAR IT I WILL BUY IT IVE BEEN A TIMBALAND FAN FROM BACK IN THE 90′S…

  39. lala.

what are yall smokin all i hear is sexyback part 2 and promiscuous part 2

    re-hashing

    damn

  40. yours_truly

timberland is the shit…his beas are good…and yea i do agree dat his beats have changed but he is doing his thing. i love that song with him and keri

  41. DiggahDiggah

Don’t get me wrong, I like timbaland and Im all for a producer/artist tryna re-invent their sound, but the new 2006-2007 pop Timbaland isn’t as hot as the 95-2000 R&B/Hip hop Timbaland. I know he is trying to make his money going the pop route, but these new tracks he is making recently don’t compare to the post 2001 Timbaland bangers from back in the day. The old Aaliyah, Ginuwine, and Missy beats smash these new Timbaland/ Danjahandz beatz (eventhough Justin Timbalake’s album was hot). But stay on your hustle Timbo

  42. Judy

hey… that song “apologize” ft one republic….is retarded. that song was created by one republic several years ago…. this song is just a remix and he absolutely ruined this song. i love timbaland but he needs to be more original.

  43. DAWHOA

Just heared shock value. my opppion it’s way overrated … seriously iz’s noz worth a penny – but make up your own mind. anyway shock value leaked on 03/22 …

btw: timbo still makes nice beatz
