Missy Elliott loves to work with Monica (remember “So Gone,” “Knock Knock,” as well as new joints from “The Makings of Me?”). And she loves to work with Fantasia (how could you not remember the masterful ballad that was “Free Yourself?”). But it looks like she couldn’t decide who she wanted to freak this track. And maybe that’s why this song appeared on neither one of these artist’s latest album.
I hear Missy is kind of a tyrrant in the studio, anyway, so maybe none of them did it to her liking. So that could mean that she’s keeping it in the box for someone else. So, you know we’ve got to ask the question… who sang it better? There’s no telling who recorded it first… but who’s version is hotter? I like both Monica and Fantasia as artists but that song was nothing special.
I think Monica did a better job of singing the song, while Fantasia’s runs and other additions make the song more personal. This song fits the feel good music category, so it will never hit radio… At best it’s a filler or a soundtrack song.

Monica’s voice fit with the beat more than Fantasia. Can Fantasia ever sound soft? Why is she always yelling?! Maybe I am biased but I felt that Monica fits better, this is her type of song.

I use to love me some Monica but it’s like lately she ain’t been coming with it like she use to. I will always love her though for the songs she use to light a fire to. were any of you in the studio, when either singers recorded the song. yeah its hot, but i like monicas husky deep rich southern vocals. no one sings better than southern women. and saying which one sings better, monicas voice is more defined, if i want to hear gospel music i can hear fanny sing in church, monica just holds herself back alot of times dumbing her vocals for the rest of these singers, but unless she go back to miss thang era, beyonce will still rule. yeah i give it to fanny, but a better singer i dont think so.it always have to be a competition, but admit it monica use to be the shitz and she needs to go way back and search herself.
