Even though Jennifer Hudson is now a superstar, Kelly Clarkson had a big hit a year ago, and Carrie Underwood won the grammy for best new artist, the show still has no credibility to me. There are alot of finalist from last season doing better than the winner. That’s very telling of the disparity between the people who vote (rednecks and soccers mom’s with nothing better to do) and actual consumers. Jennifer Hudson’s rocket to fame should show that American Idol has been pretty much bullshit from the get go. And for the exception of a few, most of the successful people from the show have had to find their own success apart from the Idol Bandwagon. The most talented singer never wins American Idol, so why should we care now?
