I think it’s Busta Rhymes, cause the last album kept getting pushed back and when it finally was release it did big the first week, but fell off plus look at all the tension that has happen around him……..either it’s Busta Rhymes or Rich boy, Rick Ross, The Game…..it’s not Diddy, I’m hoping he got the money to pay off jewelers and creditors, unless them child support payments are too much~

Just because Busta has past successful albums doesn’t mean he’s a millionaire. Toni Braxton was extremely successful but owed millions to her label and got broke. TLC same thing. I say BUSTA RHYMES . He came to mind as soon as I read the blind item. I dont care what anyone saw On MTV cribs, because as several other people mentioned , that is often an illusion. Many of these entertainers are d*amn near broke.You have to realize that when someone signs to a label, the label often gives that person an advance , which can be in the form of cash , cars, houses,etc . That is NOT a gift contrary to belief lol .It is given to the srtist on the basis or rather assumption that they will be able to recoup that money when the artist starts to sell records. When the artist finally releases their album the record company takes back what they advnaced to the artist off the top. Therefore if you are not selling many records than when the label takes back what they ,along with other people who worked with the artist are owed, there will be very little left for the artist! If the album really does poorly than the label may not even be able to recoup all that they are owed. Sometimes jewelry companies and car dealerships will give you things on the basis that they will get paid . If you are an artist that they are familiar with ,than this may make them feel more comfortable leasing. They think taht tehy will get paid back, because of who you are and what you do:)

BUSTA has been known to have more than a few altercations with fans. He has also been said on numerous occassions to have a nasty attitude. He has not done really well with his last album, atleast not as well as anticipated considering all the hype that lead up to its release.

They spend money like crazy ,half the time on stupid shyt ( like big ugly gaudy jewelry), and grills(gold ,diamond,platinum teeth, designer gear.That shyt is cool in moderation if its your personal lol,but those are things that depreciate( have less value over time) and they dont appreciate and work to your advantage like good investment(stock portfolio, businesses,etc)SO YES I THINK ITS BUSTA! He has kids and child support to pay.If hes even paying that could put a nice dent in his cash flow(the price ya pay for sleeping around with groupies ) They may get their money off the top right after the record label,producers,song writers, security team, etc etc.It doesnt matter how much ya makef you dont save, budget,invest wisely,and spend wisely you still wont have shyt!

Busta Rhymes Sued By Fan Over Alleged Assault

Busta Rhymes has been sued for assault in Manhattan Supreme Court by a man who claims the rapper and his bodyguard assaulted him for no reason.

Melvin Smith, 37, claims Busta Rhymes and co-defendant Troy Green assaulted him without reason.

Smith’s lawyer Bruce Regenstreich said his client sought an autograph from rhymes in a sandwich shop near City Hall in Manhattan.

“Melvin went in to get an autograph and got a knuckle sandwich instead,” Regenstreich said.

Smith, who is a handyman, said he required four stitches to close a cut over his eye.

He also said he has not been able to work because of back and neck injuries he sustained as a result of the alleged assault.

Smith is seeking an unspecified amount in damages from Busta Rhymes.

In May of 2003, Busta Rhymes was charged with misdemeanor assault and battery charges, after an altercation with a fan in Dec. 2002 at Jake’s Twin Saloons in Fall River, Massachusetts.

In that incident, a woman claimed Rhymes shoved her against the table, grabbed her by her hair and threatened to kill her, after she touched his face.

The woman was also charged with misdemeanor assault and battery charges after she admitted to touching Rhymes during the incident as well.

Busta Rhymes denied the allegations and stated he simply grabbed the woman by the hand and told her “please make sure you don’t touch me again.”

Rhymes was eventually cleared of the assault and battery charges.

The lawsuit comes as New York Police Department detectives seek to questions Rhymes about the Feb. 5 murder of his bodyguard, Israel Ramirez.

Police believe an argument between G-Unit rapper Tony Yayo and Ruff Ryders producer Swizz Beatz sparked the deadly shooting.

Police have threatened to subpoena Rhymes in order to question him about his knowledge of the shooting, which took place on a celebrity filled video set in Brooklyn.

Did you people not listen to Left Eye on Behind the Music? TLC got paid $.03 for every record sold and had to pay for studio time, videos, security, producers, etc., etc. Unless you are a song writer, you do not get paid that much. If Busta did sell 2.2 millon, he might have gotten paid $250,000 for the album. And I’m sure he has legal expenses up the butthole. With that said - BUSTA!

Chante you are so right. MOST rappers and artists are in serious debt. It’s the way the game is played - only those fortunate to parlay their rap skills into real independent business deals are living comfortable.

People get confused because they SEE bling, and big cars and houses, but rarely do those artists OWN any of that -

On the Forbes list only Jay-Z, Diddy and 50 Cent have been listed in the past few years and their wealth is from their clothing lines, other busines ventures and endorsements and their OWNERSHIP in the music industry.

Even before the illegal downloading, artists were only making ‘pennies” per CD sale in most cases. And every video and promo $$$ is paid out of the artist take, so even when they are successful, they are only making $$$ for the label. Now with downloading eating their sales, some of these artist will have to take a second job to pay the labels back.

According to Interscope records.. busta did promo shows at a discounted price.. and Did 0ver 25 shows in The U.S. @ over 50k a show.. can we add that up please? Radio spins for Touch It and other Busta songs netted him over 700k.. I havent checked overseas revenue.. but lets just say unless you are a complete and udderly fuck up.. When you make approx 2 million not incl record sales.. and other promotional items.. You’re not really starving.. This is the one blind item where we’ve reached a consensus and the second one I knew to be true. (The first was Faith Evans.) I too, work in the business and anyone who has worked with him, or been around him will tell you it’s BUSTA, BUSTA, BUSTA. He’s been cool to me but I’ve seen it with my own two eyes. A platinum record does not mean you’re rich, unless you write songs that can be rerecorded by others (which hip-hop doesn’t have as much.) Karma is a motherfucker and his came around.
