She’s considered a flop yet her label keeps her? Trust, she’s not starving. She has total control of her music and style, is a songwriter and producer, sells and performs considerably overseas, so she gets paid. Don’t you wonder why labels keep the Kelis’ and Ameries despite not being top sellers in the USA? They still generate money here and a lot abroad, and because they are creative, have a clear vision of who they are as artists and stick to it, labels keep them and let them free as far as music is concerned. She doesn’t have a great voice, but she definitely has the soul of an artist and is ahead of her time.
She’s today’s equivalent of Nona Hendryx.

LUV KElis..C this is what I was talking about in the “Bey Bangs” post…Kelis keeps it fresh and new…her style is never boring…and never predictable…I admit sometimes she does go overboard..but hey that’s fashion..so. Luv the look she’s always had it going on fashion wise…now if she could just translate this energy into her music…she’d really have it goin’ on!

What talent does Beyonce have other than singing like a robot and dancing like one too. The chick cannot write her own music and none of her albums can even compare to Kelis’, not even Beyonce’s best album could compare to Kelis’ worst. The woman is innovative and different. The game is all fucked up because we got Beyonce and Ciara being the only two r&b females selling records and that to me is messed up. There are songs that I like from Ciara and Beyonce but their music is not all that great, their lyrics are never thought provoking and they always are relying on the hottest producers to get their sound out. And it’s a shame that simple minded people will pass up on great music just because it’s not Beyonce.

Ain’t it the truth…Beyonce is a good singer (with absolutely no soul in her voice) but other than that what is the point of listening to her music if there’s nothing there other than a good voice. For an artist to get my attention they have to be original and a good lyricist. All R&B singers don’t have to sound like Beyonce or Whitney or Mariah in order for me to buy their albums cause the artists that have their own sound are the ones that are making much better albums than those three.

Style Wise: Mrs. Jones is a true fashionista! She looks great w/long & curly or short & sassy hair-do’s. She isnt afraid to experiment. I dig that about her. As for these pix…..She “killed it” indeed! I am sooo glad she got rid of that hideous blonde, it wasnt flattering at all. The pix are fierce (except for the last one….WTF@ those pants? Eww!)
