He was only offered a scholly by them because his teammate DeMar DeRozan is the top player on the team and #46 in the country for class of 2007-2008 and USC wanted HIM! Romeo went on a visit to USC with him and they offered them both since they are good friends. Romeo is a Division III player at best, not even in the top 100 for point guards. I agree with Jessica. College is not for everyone. Also, a college degree doesn’t necessarily get you as far as you think. Welcome to the real world. These days, it’s not what you know. It’s who you know. Take me for instance: I have a degree. IOn fact, I’m the only one in my department with a degree. Yet, my superior only has a GED. How’d he get his job? His father happens to be good friends with the CEO. Maybe it’s an isolated case…somehow I doubt it. I know of several people like myself who either have a degree and it doesn’t get them as far as they would have thought or just have that high school diploma/GED and are making twice what I make. I don’t know how anyone else feels. Quite frankly, I don’t care. A degree from college is just a piece of paper. Success oyut there in the real world is really what you make of it….and who you know.
