I’m over America’s Next Top Model, but I would be interested in watching this show. If anyone has any info on it, hit me up and I will update this post. In the meanwhile, check out the pics.
Go ‘head Tyra, I know I hate but you ain’t playing around when if comes to your business.

I would love to see this show… Black is beautiful!
very interesting. i wonder what kind of issues they will have since everyone is from the same culture???
My bad, yall, it ain’t that serious, I know!
Can’t knock your hustle, Tyra.
Why Nigeria? why not just Africa? whats wrong with all the other African countries? I’ll still watch though.
Finally! Tyra is doing something that doesn’t annoy me. I can’t wait for this!
What’s also great is that these chicks probably won’t be as dramatic/crazy acting as black American females on television (ie ‘I Love NY’, ‘Flavor of Love’, and other ghetto shows) are. We know we can act a fool on tv sometimes.
I don’t know. I can hardly get into ANTM. I don’t even attempt to watch The Austrailian one or the British one. Those are some beautiful sistas though. But I highly doubt I’d tune into this one either.
Nice concept but most of the girls look alike. For instance having the same head shape and lips. Am I the only one that sees that?
How wonderfull! Top Model really is world-wide! It is going to be nice to show the beautiful women of Nigeria. The world needs to see young women in Africa in a positive light representing the beauty of their people. I hope that they will broadcast it here also. Hell, if they can air Top Model British Explosion and VH1 can show Australia’s Next Top Model, then there is no reason not to broadcast this show as well!
They have too many African modelling competitions so why not make Africa’s giant have their own show. Big up to my Nigerian sisters. We have to show people that we all do not look like what they show on Tv.
I am very sure some of you do not know where Nigeria is? lol
@8 I was thinking the same thing that they all look alike.
*wonderful
I would like to see this. I bet the differences are what we “Blacks” face everyday amongst ourselves — shades of color, size, backgroud, family status. Very interesting idea for a show. Should be picked up by BET or TV One.
I am so happy for Nigeria. Don’t they look well- fed?
My bad, Top Model British Invasion
OHHH remember School Daze!!!!!
Ok now this looks like a competition. I love it. When does this come on or how can I see it? I tried to go to the site but it’s blocked or something.
they all look the same and i never say that about black folks lol
they don’t look like africans i don’t know what they look like.
i bet the show is better than tyra’s
aww…they’re all so beautiful
oh and #5… u’re a BASTARD for that comment…and i mean it
Aint nothing more beautiful than your own-
Beautiful black women in all different shades-fierce!
Hell I would like for them to do a top model here in america with just black women, but someobody would think that the show was discriminating-sometimes I just want to see a show that specifically deals with African-American Women.
Hey they have a new gay channel offered on cable (not a homophobic-to each their own) but I would love to watch a channel that focused on african-american women or women of color. Something similar to Essence magazine-that addresses everyday issues that woman of color encounter.
Nice I guess. All of them look like sisters. Can’t tell them apart.
Lovely girls.
GOOOOOOOO NIGERIAAAAAAA!!!!!! thats my country and yes its goin to be VERY dramatic and crazy because their african.
AT LEAST WE KNOW A BLACK GIRL, WELL AFRICAN WOMAN WILL WIN THIS ONE FOR SHO!
#8!! Yep, they sure do..but I don’t think any of them are pretty.. sorry..
As an african women, alot of the girls do look alike. And im sorry but i know nigeria has alot more prettier girls than that.
-Just sayin!
Well its about time.. Those women are so lovely. Look at all of those facial features( high cheeks, pouty lips) , WOW I want to watch it also. !!!!!
yall are so damn fake! now yall know if they were from tha us yall would be talkin madd shit bout dem, but since they from a different country yall showin love. that shows how fucked up our own people are towards each other . yall would show another culture more love than you would your own. FUCKED UP.
Now this is a Top Model that I might actually tune into…seems like it will be interesting.
Alright Naija’s representing!
oooooooooohhhh i cant wait to see this, hopefully it’ll air here in the US, of course being a nigerian gurl, its kool to c ur own ppl bein represented …..rep naija to tha FULLEST!
woohoo….im tired of watchintg the rakes all over that show….finally some women with nice healthy curves….
Tyra’s is becoming such a mogul. You go Girl!
I’d totally watch …. but # 28 is right.
man put this one on the air and take Tyras OFF!!. This one look soooo much better and all of them are pretty. BLACK IS BOOOTIFUL!!
@#28 Why are you saying that we’re fake? If anything we are EMBRACING our culture. And what are you talking about “showin another culture love rather than our own”. Ummm…. last time I checked we’re African American. Please correct me if I’m wrong?
@#25 I think some of them are cute but in the fashion world. They look for models with unique faces and sometimes it may not be cute to everyone.
@#11 I never thought I would say that a black people but they do !!!lol
I have to see this because I love Nigeria and the people there too.

because people think Africa is a country when *shock-horror* it’s a damn continent.
having said that, i would have liked to have seen a bit of variety looks-wise, cos it wuld be more challenging for them
I wonder if they’ll also have a judge with a crooked lace front and a wonky eye?
That’s nice that they’ve taken the show to another country where the represented majority aren’t pigment-challenged. However, I have to be honest and say that not all of those girls are stuuners. It looks to me like they put the most attractive ones (in white) up front, which was a smart move. But beauty is subjective so it’s anyone’s game.
Some of you sound so stupid. Africa is acontinet and nigeria is a country, like The U.S. is a country. I agree that they look alike but perhaps it is because they are all from the same tribe(i.e IBo, Youruba etc)
It is a good look though
There should be a Liberia’s Next Top Model cuz we go so hard. Haha but this is a good idea it would be better if she had included other African nationalities.
#8 I noticed that too…they all look alike…and least we know a black girl already won
I’d rather see this than Jael getting pushed into the pool by Fiddy.
Black is beautiful! Don’t yall forget it.
#5 africa’s a continent. i realize most black americans have no idea but it’ll be unfair to have a competition for all women in africa. perhaps tyra will move on to other COUNTRIES within africa. Nigeria is one of the largest and most developed countries in africa so it makes $ since to start there.
go on tyra
i agree i wish there was more diversity in the looks cause all nigerian women certainly don’t look like that. but i guess that’s the ‘model’ look.
at least this is a good idea, i’d watch it. but, they need to look different…its like 20 different poses of the same chick! what are they going to base the eliminations on?
ANTM is getting played out….she is gonna burn out this franchise of shows really quick….they already got Australia and Nigeria….what’s next….Italy, Egypt, Timbuktu?
There is more to becoming a model than looks. It would be interesting to see who has some of the other qualities they look for in a model.
These chicks are FIERCE!
hollllaaaa…BLACK IS BACK….DO YO THING GIRLZ….WORK IT !!!!!!
LOL, who said that these women won’t be crazy and ghetto like our sistas here in America? Everyone knows that Africans are crazy as hell! I had so many African friends and they told me in their country, African females be fighting with sticks and knifes in front of a big crowd to settle their differences! LOL, i don’t know if that’s all of Africa but it does happpen. I’m so glad that Tyra decided to do this. She is one who likes to embrace our black culture and I believe that’s something we’ve lost with accepting and supporting white and puerto rican people to cop our style. This show should be interesting.
Wow,
I love this! Great concept..Great idea!! This will defiantely get me watching ANTM again after a 2-3 season sabbatical from it
This is great. This should be interesting and it’s nice that Tyra is doing something different.
wow, i love you, Tyra!!! this is the best thing you’ve ever done!
& yes, us Nigerian girls DO LOOK very good…:)
um yeah but i have seen better looking Nigerian girls…..step it up one more time Tyra.
obviously they don’t have the tchnology or the dvd cams to send in submissions so they literally went into a village and plucked a family.
its the jacksons of ANTM.
they are all the SAME.
why couldn’t it jus b AFRICAS NEXT TOP MODEL???…
@ #10 Tola:
Who the hell said Nigeria is Africa’s giant? Bitch, please!
finally! something with more black girls!
Maybe from this, some ignorant Americans are FINALLY going to realize that Africa is a CONTINENT made up of many, unique countries.
@ #56 – Africa is a damn continent! If Tyra is going to Nigeria, she is probably looking to take the franchise to as many African countries as possible. I would rather have seen girls from Ivory Coast, Egypt or Ethiopia. But Nigerian girls are crazy, so we can count on major screen drama.
