Because frankly, I can’t take no more.
I first heard about this movie via Fresh and shook my head. A couple of people emailed me about this film so, I guess I’ll just go ahead and spit out my opinion - no more ‘Beauty Shop’ remakes. Please, we already had ‘The Hair Show‘ and ‘Nora’s Hair Salon’. I think the world has fully grasp the concept of African American women in the beauty salon across the United States, so…what? Challenge yourselves Hollywood and come up with a better premise.
Here’s a quick movie lesson for you all - Did you know Vivica Fox’s ‘The Salon’ was suppose to be called BEAUTY SHOP? As a matter of fact, Hair Show and The Salon battled for the title but, Oscar nominated Queen Latifah got those rights.

Although some of you may not know, I’m a pretty big fan of T.I.’s. I guess it’s the Atlanta in me, but I really go hard for T.I. From his music and image, to his stage presence and theatrical concert performances, T.I. is one of the few rappers that really just does it for me. Although there are a lot of nay-sayers out there, that claim that all southern MC’s can rap about is dancing and cooning, I can safely say that T.I.’s offered up some food for thought on his past efforts. But it’s time for the release a new album, “T.I. vs. TIP,” which was also a title of a track on his past album, which pitted him against himself, in a sort of call-and-response rap duo. I, for one, can’t wait to hear what’s on this new album. But then again, that could just be the A-Town in me…
C’mon, Hottie Mess! I think that this is hilarious. Former Flavorette of Flavor of Love (who will also be appearing on Monique’s Charm School, which premieres this weekend on VH1) is in the proccess of releasing a single, titled “My Man, My Mansion, My Money.” With it’s lack-luster production, terribly written lyrics, and hilarious vocals, it’s weak, at best. I really think that is just laughable that these ladies from Flavor of Love really achieve some sort of celebrity after cooning out on this show. Obviously, Hottie cannot sing, and someone’s working with her of the strength of her 15 minutes of fame. But hey, get it how you live… ’cause it looks like she’s doing pretty good for herself.

Ciara feat. Will.I.Am - Do It (full) - download
I’m assuming that this is an outtake from “The Evolution.” Again, like it’s other bonus tracks, I can definitely see why this was left off the album. Ciara is so good for the sing-talk, but I guess it works for her. “Do It” is produced by Will.I.Am and it sounds pretty much like all the other materials he produced on her album, Black Eyed Peas’ album and the tracks on Kelis’s album. From all the unreleased material I’ve heard from “Evolution,” I think Ciara did a pretty good job making track cuts.
Rico Love - Boy, Stop! (full) - download
If you haven’t heard of Rico Love, he’s one of Usher’s artists, on Usher’s Atlanta-based Us Records. If you’ve been visiting CL for a while, you’ve probably heard some track he’s been featured on. As much of his other material, “Boy, Stop” is produced by the Corner Boyz, whose production are all starting to run together for me. If it doesn’t sound like something else they’ve done, it sounds like someone else’s production.
If you’ve been a CL Junkie for awhile, you probably know all about Drake and his song “Replacement Girl.” Drake, who “was birthed at top and raised at the bottom of the map” is also a star of a little show called “Degrassi: The Next Generation.”
Anyway, Drake (& the homie Trey Songz) are back with the brand new video - directed by the talented STIRLING™. I don’t know what took them so long to do this video, but it’s all good. I still jam to this song.
