International superstar Akon lived up to his name as he conned seven ladies into dancing onstage during his performance on Thursday night at the Zen nightclub in Port of Spain.
The star from Senegal managed to convince the ladies, who made their way onstage, that they were taking part in a global contest and that they could earn a fabulous grand prize trip to Africa if they won.
The competition was then filmed by Akon’s crew and later revealed to be a mere sham for the entertainment of the audience present, and an even greater potential global audience, as he promised to upload the footage onto the popular Internet video website http://www.youtube.com.
After performing his string of hit singles, including “Ghetto”, “Locked Up”, “Soul Survivor” and “I Wanna Love You”, Akon requested and secured seven volunteers “to represent Trinidad” in the contest. He claimed that he had done this “everywhere he went”, and that “Africa was currently ranked number one”, with “Atlanta” and “London” coming in second and third, respectively.
He said: “We’ve never done this in the Caribbean before, but my DJ assures me that Trinidad has the best winers. Is that true? Well, y’all gotta represent here. Come on up now. Don’t be scared.”

The singer performed last night at Zen club in the Port of Spain and, when his 40 minutes were almost up, he told the ladies in the audience that he was holding a competition and whoever won it would get an all-expenses paid trip to Africa. To convince the girls to join him on stage, Akon told them that this sort of contest was something that he did on a regular basis and, so far, ‘Africa was ranked number one’ in terms of booty-shakers.

Eventually, seven ladies got on stage and they all did their best to outshine each other. When the competition was narrowed down to one girl, Akon hesitated before naming her the winner, telling the cheering crowd that she still had to defeat the best of Africa yet before getting the trip: the rapper himself. So, the girl, really eager to win the fake contest, complied. The sequence of events was as follows: Akon used his petite fan as some sort of rag/sex doll, dragging her all over the floor and simulating sex with her in three different ‘positions’.

Why should he have assumed that minors were at an adult club? When I go to a club for adults I’m assuming everyone in there is an adult, period.

Second, have you listened to Akon’s music. Titles like “I Wanna Fuck You” and “Smack That Ass” sure as hell tell me that his music is for adults and that’s it’s ummm…very sexual in nature. I mean when you go to a Luke and 2 Live Crew concert do you expect Donnie McClurkin to be there?! Luke’s music is raunchy and that’s what you can expect at his show.
