SAVE OUR KIDS FROM G-UNIT?

Tuesday, April 3, 2007

Following the March 20 assault of a 14-year-old boy in Manhattan, has violence in the Hip-Hop community reached a boiling point?

Smashing CDs and shredding T-shirts. That was the scene Monday in front of Universal Records as Hip-Hop fans gathered to say they’re sick of the violence that has claimed a child as it’s latest victim.

Rapper Marvin Bernard, known as Tony Yayo, allegedly attacked the 14-year-old son of a rival music company boss last week for wearing a T-shirt with the rival’s emblem.

“My son was approached by four men, two brandishing weapons and one slapping him in the face,” said Cynthia Reed, the victim’s mother. “I stand here today disappointed, disgusted and in disbelief that such a cowardly act was done to my child.”

Reed and others are calling for accountability from the artists and record companies — or a boycott.

“There is no civilized society that can stand by while its children are being beaten,” The Rev. Al Sharpton said. “We can not have a community where there are no standards, where there are no boundaries.”

Yayo, who now faces charges of assault and endangering the welfare of a child, is a member of rapper 50 Cent’s “G-Unit.” READ MORE

Yea it’s that serious…

Al Sharpton and Cynthia Reed

Yesterday, Sharpton was joined by city Councilman Charles Barron, Czar executive Bryce Wilson, Cynthia Reed (mother of the victim), and Stephanie Hires - the ex-girlfriend of Busta Rhyme’s stained bodyguard Israel Ramirez - and she also brought their son Stiles Ramirez.

Interestingly enough, Allhiphop reported that the police is seeking to question Yayo in the murder of Ramirez because they believe the gunman who killed Ramirez was with Yayo and that the G-Unit rapper may have fled in the same vehicle. So yea, it ain’t looking too great for the G-Unit crew right now.

I hope this whole act wasn’t another desperate cry for attention. Ain’t 50 about to release another album? Bad move kid…he better stop laying back and do something.

I guess they feel that it’s the responsibility of the whole label, but I do agree that Tony Yayo should be punished severely. I mean, it does sort of reflect poorly on the whole G-Unit squad. Tony Yayo couldn’t have done anything more stupid. I mean, hitting on kids??? Come on….

In response to #1, because that’s how to show your distest to someone or a company. For example, when Krammer made those tirades, wouldn’t it make more sense to boycott buying The Seinfields dvd? Finally, something Al has done something that I agree with it.

The sad thing is yayo and 50 have children! If it was their kids gettin hemmed up not only would somebody be goin down but they would let out a diss album w/ videos. I think this was a classy way of addressing the issue! 50 and yayo dont love the kids!

I know this might sound mean and un-sensitive to the “victim” but COME THE FUNK ON!! The boy was SLAPPED!!! not murdered, not sentenced to 7 yrs in jail for pushing a teacher….but SLAPPED! Does this incedent really require al sharpton and protests? How many kids are murdered by grown ass men in the streets everyday? Hell even when rappers shoot eachother they dont get as much attention as this.

Now I am definetly not a gunit cronie, and I think tony yayo or whatever his name is should be punished for assaulting the kid, but enough is enough. We have waaaay more important issues than a rich man’s son being slapped and they need to be addressed by our community. How long did it take for shaniqua cotton’s story to make headline news? I mean that girl was sent to 7 yrs of imprisonment for shoving a teacher while a white girl gets probation by the same judge for burning down a house! She already had a yr of her life taken from her because we were just getting the news, but this boy being slapped warrants immediate attention smh.

Now if they are using this boy to put a stop to violent music and violent images then by all means march up and down washington dc for the sensorship of gangsta rappers, but if this is only about him being slapped then people need to move on this needs to be settled in the courts.

Shaquanda Cotton was NOT sentenced to 7 years in prison from the start. She was offered probation, just like the white girl was. Shaquanda’s mother refused the probation offer.

The mother knew when she turned down the offer that her daughter was going to get time and she obviously didn’t care.

I don’t agree with the 7 year sentence, but the mother made a choice to decline the probation offer and basically told the judge to fuck off…what did she expect?

After all the protests & Boycotts, can anyone be prepared for this: ” What If…50 Cent Dismantled G-Unit For Good ? ”

Imagine, if 50 actually codemned Yayo for what he did, what would happen to G-Unit 2 or 3 yrs from now:

1. 50 quits rappin & gets a job with the F.B.I.
2. Lloyd Banks signs to Dipset
3. Young Buck stays on Interscope (Becomes extremely sucessful and does an album with Ludacris on the side)
4. Mobb Deep Signs to KOCH (The Return of the old Mobb)
5. M.O.P. signs to Def Jam
6. Even though i heard she left or got dropped, Olivia marries William Shatner and writes a book about her days with G-Unit exposing them (i.e. The real reason that Game got the boot by 50- Because he hated ghostwriting 50’s hooks & 50 crying like a baby because Raven Symone asked him if he was taking steroids)

And Finally……… 7. Yayo becomes a congressman and denounces his days as an “Rap Artist who sold more albums than Jay-Z”

Tony Yayo is an idiot…he is just a dumb fyck who obviously loves to stay in jail. The sad thing is Yayo and more than half of G-Unit are fathers themselves…I say throw Yayo under the fyckin jail for being so damn stupid, if someone hit his babygirl or son he would be ready to body a mutherfycka.

G-Unit is most definitely NOT a respectable rap label or brand anymore…all of 50’s hustlin down the drain, I hope he invested that money b.cuz I don’t see anyone rushing to buy G-Unit albums, books, clothes, or the other crap they sell.

I refuse to give G-Unit anymore of my money…I know those people that 50 has done wrong are laughing their asses off, what goes around most definitely comes back around.

Some of you are saying the world has better things to worry about, well guess what, they aren’t worried about it. This a BLACK COMMUNITY ISSUE! If some bastard on the street smacked up a child, family or not, WOULD YOU JUST LET IT SLIDE? Now had it not been Tony Yayo and some regular guy, if you’d of ran to the child’s defense, there’s no telling what would happen. Someone could’ve gotten beat down, arrested, shot dead, etc. You never know in some of our communities. The reason they are protesting is because he is a public figure, who should be ashamed of his disgusting self. He wouldn’t of done that shit in no WHITE neighborhood! They would’ve strung his ass right up! You a grown ass man doing that to a child! I NEVER was a big fan of G Unit and I don’t listen to rap period! All of the negativity and violent lyrics they spew into their own communities that THEY DON’T RESIDE IN, please, I look forward to the demise of their careers.

you are insensitive to the victim, 4 grown ass men surrond you, scaring you with weapons and one of them slaps you?!!!! if that was my kid it would of probably been another outcome, i’m glad the mother took the high road, these idiots need to be stopped, he has kids, he wouldnt want anybody hurting his… KARMA IS THE TRUTH, i hope for his kids sake it comes back on him and not his kids….

@57…I agree with you all the way. But IMO, gangsta rap is bigger than what we think it is. In the past I have seen fights break out among black guys at parties when certain rap songs come on. I know everyone isn’t influenced by negativity, but in the ‘hood , many blacks, especially males, are. Everybody wants to be tougher than the next one. Back in the day, and I’m in no way agreeing with this, you had the one tough guy on the block (drug dealer) and his crew. Even though what they were doing in their community was ice cold, they still had some kind code of the streets and respect they lived by. Now today, EVERYBODY can be a bad guy and anyone can get a gun. What we have now is a bunch of pussy’s getting guns and acting bad. A couple of months ago, I was hanging with my cousin and he listens to a lot of rap. I guess now that I am older and really analyze things, I COULDN’T BELIEVE THE BULLSHIT I WAS HEARING! “Murder, Murder,..I’ll shoot you” bullshit! These kids hold on to this crap! Please, you don’t see white artist talking about murdering their own, and even if they do, it won’t be a majority. I’ve made it my business not to support any negative portrayal of black people period for 2007 and on.

On the news the other day, Philadelphia’s having a murder rate of 1 person a day to gun violence. As soon as I heard the news I knew it was the black neighborhoods they were talking about.

Sorry to rant you guys, but I can’t stand these modern day sambos. there is no way as a black woman/man you should use your platform as a celeb to show how ignorant you are.

We need to stop talking about black people unique features. This bull about people looking like gorillas just help bring the race down.

Tony did this and he needs to face the music (pun intended).

50 Cent was not present and need not be lumped into this madness. I bet he is angry that Tony chose to do this while he is trying to release Young Buck album. 50 is a business man and he needs not have issue with his label when he is trying to make money. Read 50’s book and understand that the man is about money and this issue is not helping.

Plus — I LOVE 50 CENT. He is sexy fine and making moves. GO 50! GO 50!

50 Cent had did a interview with BET.com a couple of months ago about his career coming to an end or someone or siutaion being his career to an end….and with this situation this could be the demise of his career…the truth of the matter is he should be the blame cause it was his idea for someone to taunt the child….How can he as a grown ass man and a CEO of a company and clothing line etc..can conduct himself in such a manner….I have no idea why a child would be such a threat to him and his camp….like everyone else said these are a bunch of grown men acting like a bunch of clowns….harassing a 14 yr old child who happened to be wearing a t-shirt with his father’s company logo on it….that makes no sense to me…everyone invovled needs to be held accountable for their actions….Yayo just showed how stupid and immature as a supposed to be grown can be!!

I’m glad the parents of the boy who got slapped took the high road as well, 5 to 10 yrs ago Yayo would have been dealt some “street justice” and nobody would have retaliated because it would be accepted in the hood that he was dead wrong for his actions.

nowadays these niccas aint got no respect for women, children, and definitely not another man-I’ve heard knuckle heads put the word on the street for a dude they have beef with if he doesn’t surface, they will go to his mama’s house and beat his mom and anyone else whose in the house (most likely kids & grandma)

And trust in some cases it went down, the mama on tv crying talking about somebody ran up in the house in the middle of the night and assaulted her and everybody else in the house.

These young cats are the ones who are rutheless and they are imitating the stuff they hear in the songs and see in the videos & movies. Where do you think they get the ideas of kidnapping, torchering, & murdering from?

And God forbid if you try to say something to them, if you are driving down the street and they are in the middle of the road with their car stopped and talking to somebody, you better wait or these niccas will definitely cuss you out and might start shooting.

On my g-ma street back in the day, the local drug dealers would conduct their business in private-we knew what they were doing to an extent but at least they never sold in front of my grandparents or near their house, I would say about 5 years ago that all changed they started selling drugs right out in the open-and my grandmother had to tell one of the ole heads (twenty something) to tell the new ones not to sell around her.

Cops are called anonymously, they even drive buy often, but that doesn’t stop them from selling-hell it’s because of these young dudes out her emulating rap artist like 50-not solely his fault but damn sure a contributing factor.

These young niccas is out of f*cking control, yayo is a ole head trying to prove he still gangsta-I hope they lock his ass up and throw away the key!

@ Seabreeze, I have to say that yes rap has alot of negativity in it these days and yes they are kids who pick up on these lyrics and just run with it. But who is there to blame? The artist? I don’t think so. I think parents should instill in their children the difference between entertainment and reality. If your child is easily influenced by rap lyrics don’t blame the artist, as a parent, blame yourself. No matter what songs are played on the radio, I censor what my children listens too. Not only that, I also talk with them about moral and values. You bought up the fact that songs are being played in clubs and fights break up. Yes I have seen it happen plenty of times before. But why blame the artist? Why not blame the dumb a$$ who is easily influenced just by a damn song? Young people need to be taught that these artist are in it for one thing and one thing only….$(money). Half of the bull$hit these rap artists are talking about, they never did that $hit. My post has gotten way too long so I’m out. I don’t usually do long posts. I like to keep it short and sweet most of the time.

I forgot to comment on Al. I think Yayo should be sentenced for assault but I don’t think this requires Al Sharpton presence. Where was the protest when Kramer disgraced our race? What about the senseless killings in the hood? What about the violence that still exists in New Orleans? People, mostly children, are getting killed every single dayum day down here. Where is the protest? What about the people who are supposed to be protecting the people and enforcing the law (police) but instead are killing young black men? For example, they had a black male who was killed by a police officer down here just because he cut in front of a funeral procession? Where was the mofo protest then!!!

Kids are easily influenced that’s the point! We as a society should be more responsible with the types of images we bombard them with in media outlets, maybe if these images weren’t so easy to access or view it would help to eliminate some of the violence.

Children or young people learn from adults if we make a big issue out of the violence perpetuated in the media and ban or limit their access to it, maybe they would take us as adults more seriously.

Hell some of us adults beat our children to the tv or radio to listen to the nonsense, instead of having a discussion about what our children are listening to and why they shouldn’t take the messages in songs and videos seriously-when we do nothing it’s almost as if we condone the violence ourselves.

Somebody has to do something, especially, since it seems like so many parents aren’t doing it at home.

DAMN!! They should call this site the GUNOT Hater site. It seems as though everyone who had something to say really hates G-unit. It’s almost like they personally did something to each and every one of you. Mase said it the best and it’s true to the fullest. “Mo money mo problems”. He also should have said mo hate as well. Now, Tony Yayo should be punished to the fullest if he is guilty but what no one on here seems to realize or is completely clueless to is that Jimmy Henchman and Tony Yayo are the biggest enemies. So yeah his son probably did get slapped, which was wrong, but the story that he’s telling is probably made up of a bunch of lies as well. I mean come on, 4 men 2 with guns approach him because he’s wearing a CZAR shirt??? And then on top of that the boys mother involves Al Sharpton and does a press conference to attack G-unit not just Marvin B? The woman has also reached out to 50’s endorsement deals to try and have them stop his money. Now if that isn’t personal and you guys can’t see that then this really is a hater nation site. I really really don’t approve of what happened to the kid but I think CZAR Ent. is trying to use this ordeal to attack their competition which is wrong, Very wrong. But, we’ll see what happens on April 25th when this all goes to court. I’m sure everyone will be shocked at press time.

Foxxy380… Preach girl! I agree 100%. More parents need to take a little more responsibility in what their children watch, listen to, as well as what they do! It is so easy to blame others for what we should be handling ourselves at home. I know you can’t be with your kids all the time, but your influence and the things that you have taught them can!

I do feel that many of these artists are partly to blame for some things, but at the end of the day we as people make our own choices and decisions. No song can make you break the law, you make the choice to do that by yourself. It’s called taking responsibility for your own actions!

As for this post… 50 and his entire camp are a bunch of lames. Yayo is a fool and deserves to go to jail! What the hell is the matter with these fools?

I agree with 18, this shit really isnt that important to the black community. Niggas get into fights EVERYDAY for the stupedist shit, the only reason why this situation is gettin so much attention is because of the people envolved. Now Im not sayin that it should be ignored, Tony definetly needs to have his day in court and things need to be figured out from their, but it makes me laugh thinkin that al sharpton is protectin the kids from bein slapped by gunot lol!

Come on kids cant get a decent education, AIDS numbers are ever increasin in our community, but no we must stop and think about a boy who was slapped for wearin a t-shirt. Leave this shit to the courts and lets all move the fuck on, like sme said dude hasnt even been proven guilty yet smh! Universal Records didn’t tell Tony Yayo to slap the kid.

Blacks need to be holding protest & boycott’s about issue’s like THIS:

http://freeshaquandacotton.blogspot.com/

ABOUT ME
SHAQUANDA COTTON
PARIS, TEXAS, US

I am a 14-year-old black freshman who shoved a hall monitor at Paris High School in a dispute over entering the building before the school day had officially begun and was sentenced to 7 years in prison. I have no prior arrest record, and the hall monitor–a 58-year-old teacher’s aide–was not seriously injured. I was tried in March 2006 in the town’s juvenile court, convicted of “assault on a public servant” and sentenced by Lamar County Judge Chuck Superville to prison for up to 7 years, until I turn 21. Just three months earlier, Superville sentenced a 14-year-old white girl, convicted of arson for burning down her family’s house, to probation.

Shaquanda Cotton Needs You…

by Paula Neal Mooney

The YBP Guide led me to this Chicago Tribune article by Howard Witt titled “To some in Paris, [Texas] sinister past is back,” about the plight of Shaquanda Cotton.

As a 14-year-old, Shaquanda Cotton was sent to youth prison with violent offenders for a minor crime — shoving a hall monitor.

“In Texas, a white teenager burns down her family’s home and receives probation,” writes Witt.
“A black one shoves a hall monitor and gets 7 years in prison. The state NAACP calls it `a signal to black folks.’ ”

Read more about Shaquanda Cotton, and let’s all act as the YBP Guide suggests.

Let’s swamp Texas Governor Rick Perry with emails and phone calls until justice is served!

And let’s peacefully inform Lamar County Judge Chuck Superville — the judge who sentenced Shaquanda Cotton — who had no prior record — to seven years in prison, of our dissent:

@ 102 Bill….exactly! I wish there was this much outrage for Shaquanda Cotton a year ago when she was sentenced to 7 years in prison. Luckly she is free now (http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/nationworld/chi-070331shaquanda,1,7488591.story?coll=chi-news-hed&ctrack=1&cset=true) but this poor girl lost a year of her youth – that’s an outrage worth taking to the streets for!

This Yayo situation, while f*cked, IMO is not as important as some of the other issues happening in our community. I’m sorry, the problem isn’t with w/ G-Unit, it’s with Sony, Universal, BMG, Arista etc…. and all these other companies that get PAID off of this gangsta *ish were so adamant about selling. I certainly believe in freedom of speech and I believe theirs a time a place for every type of music and it is of course a parents responsibility to monitor what their children listen to. However there’s something wrong with an industry where people who are NOT promoting violence and misogyny can’t get record deals and have #1 hits. Were setting out standards waaaaaaaaaaaay to low!

In the business world if a bad move was made by an employee, then the company is looked at, that’s why people get fired. So, looking at Tony Yayo, he represents G-Unit, so obviously 50 being the head of the company will be questioned. You have to know the people who are around you and know that the people who works for you, are a reflection of you. So people, think of it as business sense. If it was your company, who do you think they would address.

I agree with all who stated that individuals must except responsibility for their own actions. You cant blame it all on music. At the end of the day choices are yours to make. You either make the right choice or you make the wrong one. Parents stop looking to celebritys that you dont know , who dont know or even care about you* & your family to act as a role model for your children. That is your role. When you set the right example for your children and spend an adequate amount of quality time with them it wont matter what 50 cent or SNOOP DOG , says in their songs. If your children reside in your house you can decide what is or isnt appropraite for them to watch .
Now in regards to Tony Yayo(member of Gunit) slapping the 14 year old boy ,I say that he should be held accountable. I could care less who instructed him to do it, he chose to do it, and that to me makes him very responsible for what happened. It was a bad choice , and cowardly, becauseif ya really must pick on someone let it be someone your own age and size who has done something to you personally, and not an innocent child.
As for Al Sharpton, he hops on any hot story headline ,like a fly to shyt!

I agree with #18, however I don’t know whether I believe the whole situation. I just don’t see two grown a$$ men smaking around a 14yr old kid because of the shirt he is wearing. Personally, speaking I would put it past Jimmy “Henchmen” to make something like this up. this is the same man who smacked up a DJ in DC because he didn’t agree with his opinion or some crap like that, and the same man who help launch the g-unot campaigne.

Sorry I’m not buying it.

In addition to that we all know Mr. Al ” I love to attach my name to things so that I can get on Tv” Sharpton is a publicity whore. The man will back anything to be in the public eye. There once was a time when his name meant something, however we are no longer in those times. With all the things going on in the black community and in THE WORLD no less, a 14yr “being smacked by a 28yr old man” is what he has taken on as his calling.

PUH-LEASE!!!!

I wouldn’t be surprised if it comes out that all of this was just the henchmens way of attaching bad publicity to g-unit.

I think the reason it’s a big deal is because they are role models. Sure, they talk about doing worse things on records but you all know the old saying “actions speak louder then words.” So, yes, some spoiled rich kid getting smacked isn’t necessarily breaking news, but it is when the people doing it are A) celebrities and should know better B) rap about doing worse, and now by shamelessly smacking some rival kid around they prove that they are capable of what they rap about and that’s the scary stuff. Who knows what they would’ve done had they met the boys father on the street alone like that? Besides, you all are talking about ‘innocent until proven guilty’ well, aren’t they blaming the son for the father’s actions? Instead of going after the father, they attacked his son, and that’s a low blow.

In my niece elementary school a little boy told his teacher to suck his dick and he is only 8 yrs. Old. These kids need they ass whipped.

And why is everyone hating on 50? There is worst music out now than what he was doing. 50 is changing his style up to less violently. I don’t think 50’s image is making kids behave badly. I have been watching 50’s videos and only the Wanska video to me was a little violent. But I will admit that Rap now is very violent and direspects women. What happened to lyricist? @ Marie. Entertainers should not have to be role models. Parents are supposed to be the role models but they are not these days. A good parent = the possibility of a good child. Why aren’t there nice family sitcoms like the Cosby’s on BET, but I watch Nickelodeon and the Disney channel and their showing the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and the Cosby show and That’s So Raven. Those are good family oriented sitcoms. It seems like Nickelodeon got more respect for us than ourselves. Can we just put all ignorant acting black people in there own racial/ethnic subset? Shit, middle class and certainly upper class white people feel no accountability or allegiance for white trash.

#134 QAT: How the fuck do you know if 50 wasn’t there ? The kid said he was so I believe this young dude.

#135 CLARKTHINK; What do you mean ‘for a change’ ?

This generation of young Blacks ain’t shit. Hip-Hop should not be our savior. Yes, it is our culture but there has to be a line drawn between what’s acceptable and what’s not.

How many rappers walked or even spoke up about the Sean Bell murder ? How many rappers offered condolences to his fiance’ ? How many rappers called for a nation-wide conference between young black men/Hip-Hop community and the police departments. That could have been held in NY, ATL, anywhere.
These so-called real niggas and rappers don’t give damn about Hip-Hop fans. Enough is enough.

Well I for one am glad this isn’t being swept under the rug.

As much as I try to be fair to hip-hop, I’m starting to regret the day it was born. The artform has morphed from being a voice to the poor to telling stories of glorified violence, sex, drugs, envy, greed and jealousy. It to me has become the most significant catalyst for the demise of black men from the ground up. The story of this grown ass man assaulting a child is no exception.

G-UNIT is SHIT

Wednesday, April 4, 2007 /

I think a lot of yall are missin the point. I think, and i HOPE that Al Sharpton (as lame as he is sometimes) is using this as a vehicle to attack the gansta rappers b/c its ridiculous. The music they put out affects the youth. Do you know how fucked up our generation is and is gonna be if this doesnt stop? Especially those born in the 1990s? G-Unit has always been bullshit. I was never a fan of 50 and I could never understand why everyone else was.

I saw on tv somewhere, that someone called 50 out on his lyrics and how disrespectful they were, and that they only infected the young mind. 50 aka *loose change* had the auDACITY, to say that it wasnt his fault if the kids listened to his music. It was the parents fault. They controlled what they’re kids listened to.

Now stop and think for a min. What kind of dumbass actually thinks that Parents can control the music they’re kids listen to 100%? Eventually these kids are gonna hear it, no matter what parents do. 50 is to blame. U dont put out music like that unless u expect someone to listen to it, and u have to understand that it can fall into Anyones hands.

Like Nas said, Hip Hop is Dead. No one has respect nowadays. I think i might move overseas if this shit continues…

It’s true that it wasn’t 50 that woos the kid, but as a G-unit leader he shouldn’t have allowed that to happen. if not for the violence he had in him against the entertainment industry.
So i will love the low to take place to stop violence against kids and the entertainment industries. Course all we need is one love.

50 did say he was not even in the state of NY when it happened. Eyewitness testimony is not always one hundred percent true. The boy could have been mistaken and thought he saw 50 there, but didn’t. If 50 says he was not even in the state, there’s a problem with part of the story. Tony should be held accountable though for his actions.

I need more people.

If 50 was not physically there, how was he supposed to stop yayo. It is impossible to reach your hands across state lines to stop somebody from harming somebody else. Now he should deal with yayo after the investigation is done by the police department and case is closed after trial or what have you. I have a feeling yayo will be dealt with by 50.

WE KNOW THAT 50 WASN’T THERE. I’M NOT BLAMING 50 BUT HE IS THE LEADER OF GUNIT AND IT JUST MAKES THEM LOOK BAD AS A WHOLE.NOT TOO MENTION THE THING WITH OLIVIA DOSEN’T HELP THEM EITHER.

POINT IS YAYO IS DEAD WRONG.

ONE MORE THING EVEN THOUGH 50 HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS HE IS THE LEADER OVER GUNIT. FOLLOW ME PEOPLE, IT’A LIKE ME BEING A CEO AND MY EMPLOYEE BEATS UP SOMEONE OR MAKES A RACIST REMARK. THE POSITION THAT I’M IN I WOULD TO CHECK HIM (PUT HIM IN HIS PLACE OR FIRE THAT PERSON). WE CAN’T SAY THAT 50 HAVEN’T CHECK HIM BUT HE HAVEN’T EVEN ADDRESS IT TO THE PUBLIC SO EITHER HE CONDOMES IT OR HE DON’T GIVE A SHIT. SO THAT’S WHY PEOPLE ARE BRINGING UP 50.

Yayo needs to be handcuffed to a chair while children stand in lie to slap his stupid behind. What is wrong with this dude and his clique? I know he would be looking at a beat down if he put his hands on my child. Cyn Reed has a reason to be mugged up, looking like she ready to fight.

There is merit in them picketing against Universal Records. Contrary to what these artists portray, they really have very little creative control. The music executives tell them what’s “hot” and what’s “going to sell” because they know what they’re willing to promote. They’re not going to promote honest expression. To me, that picket mentality is like trying to appease someone that has violated you but what do you expect from the post Martin Luther King generation of blacks that want to kill each other but be diplomatic with the caucasians.

Black people need to analyze that mantra of, “we need to check ourselves.” We do, that’s obvious, but do black people say that because they really plan on making community wide changes or just so that they don’t have to confront this society and mainstream (white) America. So which one is it, do we have to change or is Obama Hillary Kerry Gore gonna “save” the black community?

Has anyone even asked why the kid got smacked. I have smacked kids for various reasons. Like when you catch them stealing from you or hitting another kid younger than them. Nobody is asking that but every body seems to be talking about 50 cent and his music whic has nothing to do with another man who is responsible for his own actions. That pretty much makes most of you haters. Then as soon as his song is played in the club you dancing and bombing ya necks. 50 is talented and busy oriented. He came from the streets and now hes doing movies and hes good at it. STOP the HATIN. Tony YAYO I am not your judge maybe the kid deserved a good smack up maybe he didnt i guess you will pay for that.

shamash, there is no reason for a grown man to hit a 24 year old that is not his relative. also, the reason was that yayo saw the boy walking down the street with a rival music groups label on it. so he hit him. sounds stupid, but stupid is she unit.

after watching ANTM last night and seeing Curtis Jackson push a woman into the pool because he was “annoyed” by her. I don’t doubt that he is behind the slapping. He seems to have no sense of respect for others or their families. Luckily, Karma is a biacth and she’s looking at him right about now.

All of these so-called ‘rappers” are just sell outs anyway. They have sold out black people in the name of the dollar bill from white A&R folks who decide what degrading rap-crap we’ll listen to next. Rappers no longer sing about anything but their bitches and their money. No wonder everyone here in the U.S. and abroad think they’re better thank black people. we’re depicted as fools in these rap videos. Get an education Ye-yo and “Fidee”!!!

i think that 50 should make an apology for what his camp did. 50 is suppose to be the head hancho. so he should be very embarassed by what his man did. when your close friends and family members do things which are f###ed up we sometimes apologize for that person’s behavior. but birds of a feather flock together. 50 isn’t any different from tony yayo. so why apologize when your just like that person. an apology would mean or be taken as 50 going against tony yayo. so 50 rather stay silent and act as if he was not there on the spot. or that that he knew nothing about the incident. g unit should at least man up and say this kind of behavior is not acceptable.
