i wonder when ya’ll were going 2 post something. but on this subject it’s so, so, sad. i mean words really can’t describe it. u send ur kids to college to get an education and for someone to murder them. its a damn shame. but god be with the victims and their families in this time of tragedy.
This is too sad. It’s unbelievable.
It’s all one sad incident.
Prayers go out to the families.
I can understand why you took the time, Angel.
I’m living on campus, and this whole tradgedy has me watching my back.
My prayers are with all the students and families involved. This is not a easy situation. GOD BLESS everyone affected by this tragic situation.
How utterly saddened, and disheartened I am by this tragedy. My heart goes out to all the students, loved ones, faculty, and all others involved in this senseless act of violence……Let’s all keep them in our prayers!!!
This is really a shame. My heart and prayers go out to all those affected nation wide. I believe that everything happens for a reason, but I do wonder what this reason is.
Keep the faith. God Bless.
I CRIED MYSELF SICK OVER THIS TRAGIC INCIDENT; ALMOST AFFECTED MY PREGNANCY; MAY GOD HELP US ALL THRU THIS….
RIP 2 ALL DA 1′S GOT KILLED I FEEL SO SORRYBECAUSE MY SISTER LIVES UP THERE N I FEEL REAL BAD THAT SOMEONE WOULD DO SOMETHING STUPID LIKE THAT!
I know this won’t bring back the people that lost thier lives but how did the guy get guns into a dorm? Why wasn’t the campus shut down after the 1st people were shot? After this tragedy I hope alot of colleges & universities reevaluate their disater procedures.
try and show some meaningful respect for all our sakes
i dont think you should bring up this tragedy on your site…it seems really inappropriate…especially when yor next post will probably be on an item so superficial in comparison…i got 5 on it
I figured I would get a response like #10, that’s one of the reasons why I didn’t want to make a post. But that’s your opinion, I just thought I should post something for those whose wanted to speak on the incident.
This is an entertainment blog, but if you’ve been visiting here for awhile, you know we talk about more than that.
My prayers go out to people affected by this tragedy.
Have they found out why the killer did that?
*SMH* In disbelief. The whole ordeal just leaves you speechless.
My prayers go out to all those who are grieving and mourning during this most unfortunate tragedy. I can not imagine what those family, friends, and acquaintances are going through…I pray their strength and all else others deeply affected by this.
Rest in Peace to all who have Passed on before their time.
“There’s no hurt on Earth that God cannot Heal”
appreciate life and don’t take things for granted.
the scary thing is, school is the safest place a teenager or a student could be. i cant even imagine the pain that the family and friends of these victims could be suffering.
this was just shocking to me.i dont even know what else to say about it.
My prayers go out to the victims and their family.
This is so sad and to think ,I live an hour away from Va Tech. I pray for the families of all of hthe victims.. Such a tragedy.
@9- I don’t know the dorm policies on all campuses and how students come in and out. But in all the dorms on my campus all you have to do is walk in and show your ID to the clerk at the front desk and walk on to your room. Plus each dorm has different colored stickers that they put on the residents ID at the beginning of the year representing they live in that dorm. It really wouldn’t be that hard for someone to get a gun into a dorm on this campus because security isn’t heavily enforced. You don’t have officers patting you down as you enter dorms and buildings. College gives so much freedom for people to come and go as they please because you wouldn’t think something would happen like this but there’s crazy people out there. I mean what can you do? Have security at dorms now checking before you come in and security in classrooms. It’s crazy but RIP to the victims and condolences to the victim’s families.
This is truly a great tragedy. My heart goes out to all the victims.
There’s so much to think about today – Right now I’m watching Russ Simmons, Common, etc. on Oprah and getting all riled up.
I needed this to bring me back down to earth – Thanks, Angel.
God lord please bless the families and friends who were affected by this tragedy.
I thank God for living to see another day.
Hello All,
I am junior here @ Virginia Tech. Monday defnitely shook our entire community and I am honestly at a lost for words. I just am writing this to thank ConcreteLoop for showing compassion and allowing others to get their messages out there. I am an avid reader of this blog and I honestly enjoy the daily entertainment. To everyone out there, KNOW that we hear you and that we appreciate you joining our family. Virgnia Tech is a beautiful and peaceful place and the last thing I would want is for this to tarnish my institution. This will not break us down it will only help to educate and inspire more leaders of tomorrow. I LOVE MY HOKIES!
No words can really describe how I feel. I attend a large university and see how this could definitely have happened there, also. I think that the support offered to the victims and the rest of the VT community by you all, their peers, is admirable. God bless you all and I pray that the survivors continue to get better.
This is such a tragedy that is beyond belief. My prayers go out to all of those affected by this horrific act. God’s love will be with the families and friends of those who lost their lives on yesterday.
Angel there was nothing wrong with taking your time in posting this story. Too often people write or speak out before collecting their thoughts. Your site does post entertainment stories, but there is nothing wrong with stories that create more serious dialog about the world around us.
GOD Bless… those families and ones who passed
THIS WORLD IS SOO FULL OF DEVILS SMH MY PRAYERS GO OUT TO ALL THE FAMILES…
Very sad situation. I hope that God can heal all those affected by thier losses.
Love is all we need.
what happened to my comment?
No words to speak on this cause all of the words have been spoken and typed. No inquiry on this cause all of the questions have been asked and typed. To the those who lost that breath of Life may your souls rest in peace. S&#@ like this just rips my heart. I thank God every night and day for giving me another breath of Life and for those closes to me.
@ TVGIRL
You’re so right. It’s been my experience here at the LOOP that even when the subject is entertainment, a lot of times there’s a kernel of seriousness and our fellow posters just run with it! That’s the beauty of this blog – One minute you’re laughing, the next you could be getting all passionate or even feeling a l’il sad.
Pardon the cliche, but this whole tragedy truly reminds me not to take too much for granted and to count my blessings. It could have happened to any of us; in our workplaces, on the street – anywhere.
Actually, I don’t really care what age it happened to. It’s just very tragic to see both teachers and students, who lost their lives doing day to day activities that we take for granted. It’s really easy to say what we would and would have not done in that situation, but we were NOT in it and it must have been horrifically chaotic, as well as terrifying for all those involved.
You had everyone from people who were holocaust survivors to Seniors who were graduating next month. It’s just a painful experience all around. One of the professors just married earlier this year.
It is heartbreaking.
Hi Caramel 2.
God Bless.
When I first heard about this tragedy, I was deeply saddened, but continued with my day-to-day… It wasn’t until today when the faces and life stories where given to some of the victims and when I saw the grief stricken faces of their friends and family members that it truly hit me!
Those poor students and faculty members did not deserve what happened to them! I don’t know why this has happended and I don’t believe that there was any way that it could have been prevented. Sometimes the Lord allows certain things to happen that we can’t understand. This could have happened on any campus at any given time and still can! What I do know is that we must now try to move forward and find a way to learn from this.
My thoughts and prayers go out to all the victim’s friends and family members… They will be sorely missed but they will never be forgotten!
I meant to say, I don’t know why this happened
I don’t even know what to say. I live in the UK, but I can honestly say I found news of this event so heartwrenching. It’s just so completely tragic, young people who were getting an education so they could strive to make something of themselves have had their lives needlessly and brutally cut short. I can’t even begin to imagine how the family and friends of the deceased must feel. My condolences to them all. It is really is profoundly upsetting and horrifying. R.I.P to all that lost their lives, we can only hope you have gone on to a better place.
Thank you for bringing this up, Angel. I for one am glad you did.
This whole incident gets me thinking about the brevity of life. Life is so fleeting. Some people may get offended when I say this and I’m sorry if you do. I know people don’t want to bring up religion but I know this makes me think about how we need to get our lives right with the Lord Jesus Christ. This is an extremely unfortunately event that took place and my prayers go out to the families, friends and acquaintences of the victims.

I pray that all who have been affected by this tragedy find some comfort and peace during this very difficult and unimaginable time.
There has to be some purpose for this pain… GOD will see you all through this, in the meantime, Stay Up, and provide comfort and support one another.
they thought that the first shooting waz a domestic between the boyfirend and the girlfirend….thatz y itz waznt shut down…but itz sad that that many ppl had to lose their lives and for whut???? my prayers go out to all of their families….I THINK JUDGEMENT DAY IZ ON IZ WAY…….
My thoughts and prayers are with everyone who has been affected by this tragedy. Remember that God is with you.
R.I.P teachers and students a Virginia Tech. This is so unfortunate.
Thanks so much Angel for putting this up, much appreciated.
Honestly to say this is a tragedy is an understatement. When I found out my eyes started tearing up immediately. Over 30 people killed??? It’s unthinkable, I am truly disgusted that so many people lost their lives. I am currently in college (graduating next year) and I cannot imagine how the victims’ families must feel.
I was watching the news and I saw one of the students he killed. He was a TRIPLE major, and he was a senior. He was going to do great things in life and now he will never get the chance. Terrible.
We just had a memorial service on campus, and to any students, staff, or alumni of VTech, the hearts of us A&T Aggies go out to all of you.
one of my childhood friends was killed. He was the sweetest, nicest and genuine guy ever. and before this turn into A racial issue. The killer was Korean and my friend is also Korean.thank you concreteloop for this post.scary be nice to loners.
can WE fucking tighten the law for selling guns damn wtf its everywhere. here in Philly theres a dead person every week.
#10… shut up
#44>>>Kelly@Yahoo.com, my sympathies go out to you. I lost a friend some years ago so I understand the pain. You will recover, but I know it takes time. Be encouraged.
I currently live in central Virginia and I drove all the way up to Blacksburg to attend the Convocation at VTech earlier this afternoon. Why? Because I felt it necessary…certain things are unexplainable and God just leads you to do…..the Bible says to “mourn w/those who mourn” So I felt as though I needed to be there and mourn w/those who are mourning.
I am a firm believer that things happen for a reason and although this event was equally tragic and heart breaking, God has a better plan for those angels he called home on Monday. Please pardon me if I seem to come off as sounding all “preachy” and whatnot.
Be Blessed~
TRAGEDY!!
SAD, SAD, SAD!
May GOD rest each of the unknowing individuals, souls (victims) involved in this tragedy.
This is so sad. I will keep all the students and their families in my prayers.
Dear Students, Faculty and persons related to the victims:
I send my deep condolences. Please trust in the power of GOD and prayer. Healing will come through prayer and GOD. The world mourns with you. And whilst evryone wants to know why this was not done why that was not done, the time between the first two shootings and the third. How guns culture in Amerikkka is to blame, and point a finger. There are those of us that realise it could happen anywhere and that thre are good people who do bad things and bad people who do bad things.
GOD BLESS TAKE CARE
PS Angela – thank you for showing how we as a community care and we are not one dimensional and I say that only as a response to #10.
this is really really sad. my condolences go out to the families, victims and friends of the dead and injured.
Tts time that the american government changed its policies on allowing people to possess guns within their homes. Im glad the same policy does not apply here in the UK because I am soo against it.
As well as reporting celeb gossip, i do think CL needs to also adress important socio-political issues as well.
#10 shut up this post is about showing that we love and care for those who have been hit by this terrible tragedy.
There was a vigil held at my school today. A girl who transferred from VT read an email she recieved from one of her friends who was involved. It was so sad to hear a first hand account of what went on. The guy who wrote the email spoke about seeing the sadness in the shooters eyes and had sympathy for him. Also that we should view it as 33 people dead and not 32 and the shooter. IDK how I feel about that but may God bless all who were touched by this tragedy.
I would just like to offer my condolences to all those affected directly and indirectly by the incidents that happen at VT. I would also like to offer my condolences to the family of the student that did the killing. It has to be hard on his family knowing that you sent your child to school, in another country nonetheless, to get an education, and you hear on the news that he has done this. I just pray for everyone in this situation. I pray that God strengthens the families of the victims and that somehow he has mercy on that poor man’s soul who pulled the trigger.
This is extremely sad. Rest in peace to all of the victims of this senseless killing.
everytime i think about dat i jus get mad
#10 YES IT’S A SAD SAD TRAGEDY THAT’S HAPPENING MORE OFTEN THAN WE WOULD LIKE. I SEE NOTHING WRONG WITH ANGEL POSTING THIS ON THE SITE, HAVEN’T THE MEDIA DONE THE SAME THING AND WORSE? MY HEART GOES OUT TO ALL WHO HAVE LOST A LOVE ONE AND TO ALL WHO HAVE BEEN HURT AND R HURTING.
such a devastating tragedy and my prayers go out to those who lost their lives and their families, the students of the University AND the depressed young man who spanned lout of control to do such harm. Honestly, he just lost it and didnt know what he was doing. SO SAD
I cried. This just goes to show that people with major deppresion issues really cant just go unoticed. I mean, i read about it, and, they said he was always writing about brutal death. From Yahoo:
“When we read Cho’s plays, it was like something out of a nightmare. The plays had really twisted, macabre violence that used weapons I wouldn’t have even thought of,” former classmate Ian McFarlane, now an AOL employee, wrote in a blog posted on an AOL Web site. He said he and other students “were talking to each other with serious worry about whether he could be a school shooter.”
The faculty members should have done something about that. Seriously. Things like that shouldnt have been ignored.
