NOTE: What’s up ya’ll. I know it’s been a while, but I have been having some internet/computer problems, but everything’s all cleared up now. Also, as you know, the semester is ending and I’m trying to bang out these papers, finals and art projects. But I love CL, I love Angel & Tianna and I’m glad to be back. We’ve got some special stuff coming for you this summer. Thanks for your patience! I appreciate all the e-mails asking where I’ve been. You guys are the best.
Rihanna feat. Lil’ Mama - Umbrella (Remix) (full) - download
So, everyone knows that Rihanna is nobody’s singer, however, it seems as though people are loving Rihanna’s new single, “Umbrella,” which originally features Jay-Z. I can’t say that this remix, which features Lil Mama, who is best known for her annoyingly addictive single, “Lip Gloss” improves upon the song or doesn’t do it any justice at all. In any event, Rihanna is trying to let the game now that she’s a main-stay. The girl has put out 3 albums in three years.

I think what I like about Fabolous is his consistancy. He always gives you a single with a female vocalist, and usually it’s a female vocalist who’s about to go really hard for that season. Remember his songs with Lil’ Mo? And then with Ashanti, then he replaced her with Tamia? Well, now he’s trying the same formula with Rihanna, and luckily, people are loving her right now. If I can say anything about Fabolous, he definitely knows how to make a good move as far as putting out the right single.
Mya feat. Lil’ Wayne - Lock U Down (Video Version) (full) - download
I posted the Scott Storch-produced “Lock U Down” months ago, and hated it then. To me, it sounds like Mya’s sound has not progressed at all. It was a good move to put Lil’ Wayne on the track, but it just sounds like something from any of her other albums. The video does do something for the song, though. I just wish that Mya would take her music somewhere else and continue to get her dance on. She’s a fabulous dancer. I feel like she’s been doing the same thing since “Movin’ On.”

Remember little Tiffany Evans from Tyler Perry’s “Diary of A Mad Black Woman?” Well, she’s sung songs for Disney, so I guess she’s trying to make a transition into a real artist. If you know me, you know I love this kind of old school dance music. Not only that, but I love when kids make age-appropriate music. Tiffany is 15 years old, and has a pretty nice voice. I can definitely see kids liking this. And what’s strange is, I could definitely see myself dancing to this… in somebody’s club. But I guess that’s not the song’s purpose. Shout out to The Clutch, again!

And I’m so sick of people talk sh@t about Ciara. I went to school with her and we were in the same marketing club. anyway we were out in the hallway and ciara was blowin dem vocals. I’ll agree that she hasnt shown that on her songs, but she can mos def sing! Ya’ll the girl can sing 4 real. I know everyone has their own opinions, but damn stop bring her down and calling hera man and sh@t. I had to say that, sorry.

Who in the hell gave Lil’ Mama a record deal? Haven’t we had enough “Lil’” in the game? Lil’ Kim, Lil’ Wayne, Lil’ Bow Wow, Lil’ Jon, Lil’ Boosie, Lil’ Flip, Lil’ Scrappy. Don’t they have good enough A&R and marketing to let these damn fools know that there are enough Lil’s and Young’s in the business. Speaking of Young’s this heffa sounds like a more annoying version of that Young B heffa. Are our children really so deprived that they are excited to sing and listen to songs about Chicken Noodle Soup, Soda, and for God’s sake Lip Gloss?!?!? I think not!
