THE NEW MUSIC REVIEW

Johnta Austin feat. DJ Unk – Video (full) – download
Johnta Austin, at this point (after hearing this song), seems a little desperate for the release and/or success of his solo debut album. Although he might be a talented songwriter, Johnta Austin just can’t seem to knock out a hit for himself that will garner enough success on the charts for a good album release. His album has already been reviewed in Vibe Magazine, so there’s no way that this track could possibly be old. This seems freshly recorded, with influences of recently popular songs, to give him more mass appeal. Maybe it’ll work for him…

Rihanna feat. Jay-Z – Umbrella (full) – download
Rihanna is coming back with a brand new album, “Good Girl Gone Bad.” Which is hilarious title, considering that the track is featuring Jay-Z and people will think that is is completely scandalous. They knew that this would cause controversy, which will probably equal album sales. As far as the song goes, I kind of like it. It is different in the way that “S.O.S.” was different for her. Rihanna is popping out albums like no one’s business. That’s three albums in three years. This girl really is shaping up the be quite the workaholic.

Teedra Moses feat. Jadakiss – Fall In Love (snippet) – download
In my opinion, Teedra Moses is one of the most underrated R&B female vocalists and writers. She has a super mature sound, vocally and lyrically. I feel like she really writes songs that people can relate to. Looks like she’s taking a page from “Complex Simplicity” and decided to delivery us with another Jadakiss feature. I’m not sure how old or new this is, or whether or not it’s going on Teedra’s new album, “Young Lioness,” which is supposedly due out this year. Let’s keep our fingers crossed. I need to hear the rest of this song for a full analysis.

Amerie – R&B Girl (full) – download
Why would Amerie do this? Although this is a great sample, it’s overused. Most popularly for Keyshia Cole’s, “Thought You Had My Back.” This song is just wack, in my opinion. I don’t know what Amerie is thinking about for this material on her new album, “Because I Love It.” I don’t really have anything to say about this except for Amerie needs work. “Take Control” was mediocre at best, the video was the worst, and nothing else that I’ve heard has really peaked my interest about the album. I’m surprised that Amerie hasn’t gotten the Christina Milian bomb and been dropped long ago. Although she’s had good material in the past, none of her albums have really been succesful and have been deemed as flops. That new album cover is “fye,” though.

Rihanna sucks, I really cannot stand that voice of hers. Anyone would be a fool to make that bit*h richer for having no talent at all.
