  10. Bagmeson

Why are people still sleeping on Teedra?? I’ve never seen her live, but by watching those I can see she does the damn thing!

  11. kawaii

    teedra is soooooo talented!

i dont understand why artists like teedra, amel larrieux, goapele and tamia are not more successful. they have incredible voices, great music, and are all sooo beautiful. i just dont get it

  12. new yorker

    that was hot

  13. justme

this is my first time hearing about her.she sing good to me.

  14. HAUTIA

    Forever love me some Teedra!!!

  15. I loveeeeeeeeeee Complex Simplicity! Teedra is slept on as an artist and writer. “Lifetime” and “No more tears” are two of my favorites. I’d love to see her live.

  16. Teedra…Teedra this woman is bananas!!! Her album stays on rotation in my house…she’s definitely one of my TOP three EXTREMELY underrated artists which also include Musiq & Coko! I wish her much success~

  17. McKenzi

Okay, I must say biggups to DC and Teedra. I was at the show and I am a big fan of Teedra and she killed it Friday night. It was exclusive. She had a great turn out and it had to be fans because most don’t even know her. It’s crazy because she is so underrated. And believe it or not most songs you bop to she probably wrote. Had mad fun, enjoyed the show and can’t wait for the new album. See you in Miami, Teedra. Would send pics but I think the video says enough. She rocked the Black Cat

  18. KI KI

I THOUGHT SHE WAS A GOSPEL ARTIST. ANY HOW SHE HAS A NICE VOICE.

  19. Bubbles

    thanks for posting this

  20. Reality Check

I am mad she was in DC on Friday and I knew nothing about it. I would have loved to help her sing her songs. LOL!!!! Man I’m mad.

  21. THE CL CHAT!!

damn shame that she’s not really known hopefully her and everyone that #’s 12 & 17 mentioned are recognized soon

  22. Jermar

i had the pleasure of attending this concert, and she really did bring the house down. i really enjoyed myself

and it was a packed house, i didnt expect such a huge turn out— she must have a huge fan base– cuz everyone one was singing every lyric and everything

  23. JoEl

Man Teedra rocks fa damn sho. It kills me that so many people especially on this site stay talkin bout how “R&B needs help” and “i’m so tired of Beyonce and Ciara etc”…yet peeps sleep on artist like Teedra, Joi, Jazmine Sullivan and Chrisette Michele.

There is plenty of great R&B/Soul out there but yall really dont want that stuff, yall want all the flash and BS.

  24. brownsugah305

and people wonder what happened to the state of R&B. this chick is the business I lubs me some teedra esp. listening to her in the morning. she is mad talented and pretty and I don’t know why she has yet to come to the front and show todays so called R&B singers what R&B is. Take me is my song and so is be your girl I am loving that juicy remix thanks for the vid.

  25. taji

#12 I second that motion!!! They are supremely talented women and I have all of their CDs. Amel Larrieux is my favorite female artist next to Alicia Keys, Lauryn Hill and Sade. I truly believe that they are not as successful because they do not compromise themselves or their music. Don’t forget to pick up Amel’s CD “Lovely Standards” on May 22 and I will be at her show on May 26th and BB Kings in NYC.

  26. Ebz

I lovvvvvvvee Teedra. My male friend actually put me on her to Cd Complex Simplicity. The first time I played that joint I was hooked. As many have mentioned before me, this woman is so talented and I see great things for her in the future. Can’t wait for her to drop her next cd, Im definately gonna support. Thanks for highlighting this outstanding artist CL. What a breath of fresh air!

  28. Moni in Cali

Teedra is so great but underrated. I love her. I hope she gets her time to shine. Go ‘head Teedra.

  29. Krystin

DAmn i wish i lived in DC i Know shes never coming to NJ they’d never understand that this womans music is FIRE.. I like how she sang “Be Your Girl” the beat is sick… damn it i would of driven down there jst to see it

  30. Pinky

Wow- I guess I am missing something. I have heard of her because of blogs but I never heard a song or seen a video.

  31. jscene

Is she coming out with a new cd? I love Complex Simplicity. I still play it in my car. But i’m ready for something new.

  32. yeah, The Young Lioness is due to drop this summer…finally!

  33. Oh and she’ll be putting out a second mixtape before then.

  34. RedBalloon

Teedra is the best. Anybody know when the Young Lioness is being released?

  35. I ain't got no name

Teedra Moses is so damn fly. I have Complex Simplicity and I’m waiting on Young Lioness that’s a powerful title for an album she must of put a lot of thought into it. I hope she does well this time around. Just like word of mouth got Ribin Thick, Corrine Bailey Rae and now Amy Winehouse to blow up, we need to be talking about Teedra Moses and all of the other artist mentioned above.

  36. I totally agree that Teedra is soooo underated! But I think that makes her even more dope because she seems so un-phased by it. She is so humble about her career. She just does her thing regardless.

Let me tell you that the very first time I heard ‘Be Your Girl’ in 2004 I was at work listening to satelite radio and all I could think of is “where can I find this song?” I was still living in NY and there was no buzz about Teedra and her song NEVER made the radio.
So when I came across her video on Yahoo Music….I pumped that video all day while I was at work until her CD came out!

I am mad as heck that I live close enough to DC (in VA) that I could have drove up to see her perform! Damn!

Anyways…..thanx Angel for the post! Awesome!

  37. I love that Nas sample in “Be Your Girl”

  38. E$E$

wow…she sounds great, even if the video does suck!

  39. LOL

FYI: The Teedra Moses video has been replaced with some other high pitched male singer.

  40. LOL

Oh there we go. All better :)

  41. future

This makes me very angry because I live in DC and didn’t even hear about Teedra coming to town. “For a Lifetime” and “You better tell her” are my songs.

  42. new yorker

did she ever release the juicy remix b/c i really want a copy

  43. I really hope that Teedra will get more shine with her new album, she’s the truth! Luvs her!!!

  44. everyone sux on here

33 secs left got soooooo funky…..teedra been in the game of rnb…..georgia anne muldrow is who kills everyone…get yall music up…real music

  45. FlyGemini

It’s a shame she doesn’t get any buzz. Complex Simplicity is most definitely in my top 10 favorite albums.

  46. She sounds good, but she something about her doesn’t really pop out to me. It’s not the voice, look, or soul, because I sense she’s got it all, but it’s that personal wow factor.

  47. BADABING!!!

She’s reppin’ Louisiana fo sho! California by way of(New Orleans)

  53. devilicious

True dat # 52 we need some more posts of Reggie Bush or Sidney Crosby or some sexy ass dudes, man im tired of all this Beyonce and Rihana posts, we need some dudes! we need some dudes!WE NEED SOME DUDES! WE NEED SOME DUDES! Anyway, who’s Teedra Moses?

  54. Salty

#52 notice all the rnb and pop females have it so much worse than the males; In the industry and on gossip blogs. females are more under pressure and are under more scrutiny too.

  55. Gadgetgirl

Teedra is fire, I saw her perform in September 2005 in the UK, and she was better than she sounded on the CD. She was real sweet & friendly and had time for her fans which was nice. She just taking her time with this new album though, but I guess patience is a virtue.

  56. HATERADE

    #55. If they aren’t Be-Yawn-Ce then they’re nobody

  57. alex

we drove 3 hours to see her at the black cat &it was well worth it. she was AMAZING.

  58. Player (I'm just ghetto, I'm just me )

I haven’t liked Teedra from day one for some reason or other, (I have nothing against her though and I have respect for her, I really do) but you know what I’m tired of? I’m tired of people saying that Beyonce or Ciara is the reason why some artists are slept on because if they really want to shine then why can’t they? Who’s stopping them? Seriously, who’s stopping Teedra Moses from getting her shine on? Somebody please answer me!

  59. Apple

OMG!!! i was there and she was amazing!! she killd it and i was just too proud of my teedra :) people need to stop sleeping on her for real!!
