Thanx to my girl Patrice from Afrobella.com I was informed that Kiri Davis the 17 year old producer/director of the very moving film “A Girl Like Me” is currently trying to win the CosmoGirl Take Action Hollywood Film Contest.
If you haven’t seen the film, I added to the post above. It sparked a really good debate on the site last year.
Anyway, make sure you support Kiri Davis and give her a vote. The winner gets $10,000 and a feature in the August issue of CosmoGirl.

Hi Cara 2!
@Bill
http://www.locateadoc.com/questions.cfm/1804
Here’s a Q & A link that may answer at least part of your question. There’s a particularly interesting question here regarding Michael Jackson and skin bleaching treatment.
I don’t believe that the chemical used for this treament burns, per se, but then again, I’ve never tried it, of course! So my other guess is it probably wouldn’t affect the nether regions so much, pain wise.
Incidentally, a big trend amongst white women is anal bleaching! Didn’t mean to gross any of you out, but skin bleaching is quite the norm, nowadays.
@ Ms. Notorious a lot of people do use bleaching cream to lighten their skin. When I went to the islands (bahamas) to visit my family and I saw my sister she had bleached her beautiful brown skin to a much lighter tone. She is sooo good at it that she managed to turn her hands and feet light too ( which are the hardest parts to do) you can tell that she has issues with being a beautiful dark woman but once you start that process you have to go through with it for your entire life and you can’t go out in the sun. A lot of islanders participate in this self hating ritual even famous people bleaches their skin lighter to be more accepted (gabrielle, trina and more) now you don’t use skin bleaching cream to tone your skin you use toner.
Very nice and so fitting in light of recent events.
Well I say if you use bleaching products to get rid of little black spots on your face,I say go for it but if you go on to bleach your whole skin damn whats wrong?White women use tannning beds to get brown! We should take that as someone wants to be browned up you know what I mean? While the white woman wants to get brown the brown wants to get lighter. It doesn’t make sense to me.And the hair issue you know what I can care less, I can wear my natural hair and put a weave in my hair and go about my business and not worry what people think. But things like the doll starts all at home, the parents.

Huh….WHAT ????
That is EXACTLY why I don’t fool around with White Women….
Why the heck are they Bleaching their anal area ????
Ain’t nobody suppose to be looking or doing anything back there…..
That there is an EXIT !!!!!!!
That’s why an Odor comes from that area…That to let’s you know “DO NOT ENTER” !!!!!!!!
Please email this post to all of your white female friends !!!!
Also as much as I want Kiri Davis to win I know that she is not because the contest is run by white people and they see nothing wrong with black people hating themselves. They agree with it. They are basically the master minds behind the idea since slavery and ignorant black people are feuling it.
I think this is a inspirational film and she did a very good job, i would like to vote for this film.
LOL! Bill!
i watched it, i loved it, i voted. hope she wins. reminds me of that time i let my real hair out and my mom was okay with it at first then the day after she was like, your hair is not working, it looks very kenyan, which i am. caz i was sick of rocking weave. those things get to be annoying. any ways, and about those bleaching friends, i guess when white ppl from back in the day made sure they really left a mark on us, not to write a speech but, black is beautiful and not many people know that
I won’t drag this out any longer that I have to, but I believe it’s a question of aesthetics – you, know to match the skin tone with the rest of the butt.
Which serves as a warning to those who want to try this:
First you wanna bleach that l’il spot by your eye, then you have to even er’thing else out and pretty soon you’ll end up bleaching your bookee!!!
bad hair means you look like a slave
@ Kenyanpebbles, yes it is beautiful the more and more some can see that I believe the better we can work out other issues.
Bill,
White porn stars are most notably known for bleaching their anuses. Dr. 90210 taught me that. Now I’m not saying regular people don’t do it but if their crack is in the limelight and I can see why porn chicks would want it to look its best.

You Know, That’s just filthy…
Why would any Man want to stick your penis back their when their a perfectly sweet nectar on the FRONT of a woman ????
While we’re on the subject of white woman, I need to ask you ladies a serious question.
In all honesty, I don’t know the answer, cause I never slept or lived with a white woman,
BUT,
Is it TRUE that if they don’t wash their hair EVERYDAY, Lice and Bugs will come out of their hair ?
This brother that I know from the Nation of Islam told me that, and I just wanted to verify it.

*I actually stopped counting after 37).
When you get a chance, go look at the people who posted on that Beyonce Thread (type in BEYONCE on the search engine)
Those fools just kept arguing back & forth all through the night….
Beyonce is like a god to little black girls & gay black boys
I believe you BILL…I mean I’m a SUPER fan but at the end of the day she is not and will not do anything to better my everyday life. Priorities people…get them in ORDER!

Make sure you guys go to that site and vote for her!
I voted! But she’s still in 3rd place!
Yeah guys, remember to vote EVERY DAY to get Kiri out of 3rd place. Spread the word too.
@Bill, I’m a little surprised at your comments because it seems a little outlandish that you wouldn’t already know the answers to your own questions. I’m not going to sit here and insult you because there is no reason for that but I will tell you that I have been friends with white women and no, they do not expel lice if they don’t wash their hair everyday. Lice is a condition that is not exclusive to one race and I would hope you’d know that. I’m not calling you a racist but this is where it stems from. We all just assume things about eachother and express these misunderstandings without thinking first and end up basically discriminating against each other. Examples, Asians can’t drive, Hispanics are hot blooded and carry switch blades etc… I see a lot of the comments made about other races and I sit here in disbelief because if a comment like that was made about a Black person, there would be outrage. If we would be hurt by those same words then why would we do the same to others? Btw, not just white women participate in anal sex. Whether the act is disgusting is debatable(I don’t do it and don’t want to) but that’s left up to the individual and it’s another topic all together. As for Kiri Davis, she’s brave and daring and should be awarded for it. She said and filmed what others were afraid to. Extremely impressive. I really do hope she has a successful future in cinematography.
I voted for Kiri! We need to keep voting.

Whenever I ask a question, I DON’T KNOW THE ANSWER.
I’ve never been with a Caucasian woman !!!
* I been married for 20 years to a black woman, so I really don’t know what goes on with white girls
I do stand by my statement that anal sex is abomination, and it is a filthy act….
Anyways,I apologize if I offended you…
I don’t know you and I wasn’t speaking to YOU per se…
I really was just asking a general question.
Peace
SO..I just voted because the world needs to see this…however she is in last place so vote people!
@Bill, you didn’t offend me at all and I totally understand that you were speaking in general. And I agree, anal sex is yuck. All I’m saying is, is that it should be pretty obvious on a basic human level that White women/people don’t naturally have lice. But if you are saying that you didn’t know then I would have to take your word for it. No harm, no foul.
Regardless if she wins the contest..she’s definitely inspiring people…
i had to watch this video in my class at a predominately WHITE university….and it sort of turned into a “pity party” for the black people(me and 3 other black people in da class)
believe it or not…some white people do feel bad that their people caused so much pain on black people throughout history…
This doc is very true. This will not be the last time we will hear from this young lady. But, I once had a young man tell me that I was very pretty. However, he went on to state that I was “too dark” for his taste. & this was almost 10 years ago. Everyone is entitled to their perference, but those types of comments stick with you…….
loved it
im soooo tired of being hated on about being “light skinned”…pls, pls, pls GET OVR IT!!! I CANT HELP THAT I LOOK LIKE THIS AND IM NOT GONNA FEEL REGRET ABOUT IT EITHR!! SORRY!!
I have plenty of pretty brown skin friends and we get along just fine. I MEAN DAYUM, I LOOK GOOD AND THEY LOOK GOOD…WATS THE DAYUM PROBLEM…. I HAVE “NICE” HAIR AND SO WAT? MY PARENTS GAVE ME THS LOOK , CANT HELP IT!! and frankly, im tired of hearing ignorant black people complain about it!! once again, GET OVER IT!!
Sweety are you speaking from personal experiance or are you replying to our comments because I cant find ONE comment that says the light skinned folk are the root of our problems. Maybe you should get over it and yourself, this is about self love not bringin folks down.
(WE LOST TRACK) that was a fantastic video i enjoyed very much i need it on dvd
so im thinkin….we should get a nice lil kiddie song to teach our children entitled “black is beautiful” that will go along and get embedded into the childrens brains just like the ol’ abc’s and itsy bitsy spider…
who’s with me?
I saw this on facebook was impressed for the straight Im happy shes getting her shine and bring the truth to us PLEASE KEEP VOTING EVERY SINGLE DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have beautiful non-relaxed hair and I still have bed head everyday. I guess there are several definintions of good hair.. I really liked the Doc may I add she’s a very intelligent young lady and I will be voting several times…
sxxxyyyy chameleon hey ,long time !
I am with you lil maria we do need to have a kiddie song about loving yourself. Also how come the larry birhead post has more comments than this one????
I was going to say Nina Simone had a song about being young, gifted and black. But I’m with you Lilmaria
Loved this when it was posted last yr. Kiri’s definitely got my votes!
This documentary brought me to tears because its so true about todays young black women.
I used bleaching cream to fade some blemishes and that stuff dried out my skin so bad. How can people actually use that stuff on a daily basis!
That’s got to be a health hazard!
It sure did get rid of those blemishes though!
White people go to tanning salons black people bleach their skin….everyone wants to achieve “that look”, it’s kind of sad.
All girls go through this. I have to be tan to be pretty. I use self tanner just like bleaching cream. I have to straighten my hair everyday. How come black girls are ‘missing a piece of them’ just because they don’t know where their ancestors are from? I don’t know where I’m from. All I know is that I’m European. Does that mean I’m missing a piece of me?

@108, It’s actually sad on both sides of the spectrum. I’m sure that skin bleaching cream is hazardous for ones health and tanning salons are no better, the UV rays cause skin cancer and death. People are literally dying to be “beautiful”. My mother is a fair skinned Puerto Rican and my father is a brown skinned Black man and I literally came out “marshmallowy” pale. As a child I wanted to be darker because my siblings are fairer skinned but much darker than me. I would cry because I was so light skinned but I eventually got over it and learned to love my skin tone. For Black people, it’s more than just not knowing ones origin. My ancestors had their cultures ripped from them and told their ways of life were evil and sinful. Forced to worship a God they knew nothing of. Just this passed summer I learned my family history and that we are descendants of Ghana. It was eye opening and one of the most special moments in my life, literally fulfilling as if I was made a whole person. African Americans don’t have this light skinned/dark skinned complex for nothing. It was forced upon us to systematically break us and throw us into a vicious cycle of self hatred and social destruction. They, White supremacists, past and present want us to fail and implode on ourselves so badly that they devised this diabolical plan to pit Black people, dark, light and in between against each other and have us destroy ourselves for them. As a human being you will feel insecurity at least once in your life time, it’s an inescapable human emotion but what African Americans go through on a daily basis is something different. Most White people will never understand this because they refuse to accept that their ancestors are responsible for being the prime cause of another races downfall. It’s much easier and comforting to place the blame soley on us even though Black people have had a major but smaller role in perpetrating and becoming complacent with our disposition.
Kiri Davis has moved to second place. Let’s keep it moving up!

My disertation on why white women bleach their butt cracks~
On the camera, during the filming, a white woman’s butt crack has a natural dodo brown color! It looks like she just took a long $#!T, and didn’t wipe all the $#!T off! So, in order to make it look clean and tiddy, she bleaches all the dodo brown color out, thus leaving her with a nice pink or jaundace bottom!
The butt cracks on Women of color and especially sisters are also dodo brown or jet black, but it usually blends in nicely with their body color! Its an acquired taste, but there is something very sexy about a woman with a jet black crack! It’s like you’re traveling into the deepest darkest part of Africa!
Once inside, you’ll find a bright pink rose garden filled with sweet nectar, or it could be carmel colored for women over 38! Age 21 to 38 is the prime with age 33 being the peak! You won’t find nectar any sweeter than a 33 year old women’s!
Hitting any of these from the back is an experience that you’ll never forget! Savor the moment and enjoy the scenery! If she has a tatoo of a water scene or semetric lines on her lower back, be sure and bring popcorn, because you bout to be mesmerized!
^^^mr. spielberg, i’m ready for my close up!
@ummm
no offenmse but you will never understand what black people go through because you are a part of the majority and for the most part, have not had to face any time of prejudice
btw, i don’t know if you know this but people around the world are more related genetically to people in African tribes than those tribes are to each other. isn’t that amazing? you would be more related to some girl in Africa than another African girl from another tribe would be to her (learned this in class when we talked about evolution), we can’t just say “we’re from Africa” as if that’s enough. i want to know where from, what they did, what values they upheld. it’s a very different situation than Europe
WOW it sadens me that little black children think that way. And we all thought things were changing. I would be devastated if my daughter would view her color in that way.
Nice little documentary.
I voted!
I seen this a couple months ago.I’m still a little choked up about the doll situation.I’m a beautiful brown skin and I’m proud to be my color.Any person of color should be proud. What those little girls remind me of is Anchal of ANTM when she was insecure about herself.I’ll be voting no doubt!Very innovative young lady.
This should been at least over 800 comments per se to the one on SWSBN
OMG!!! THEY CANCELLED THE ONLINE CONTEST. Vote tampering…too many votes for the African American Girl is more like it. We tried. A committee will now decide the winner, Good Luck and God Bless Kiri.
i didnt vote for this jus b/c yall said to vote fo it i reall ylik this and i will love fo this to b on tv so alot of people can see it
Hi everyone:
I was moved by the video. Although I’m a white woman and cannot relate to certain issues that black females have in society, I want to say this…I see black women as beautiful, worthy, and wonderful. There is beauty in every woman but society has conditioned all of us (including those of my race) to believe that we aren’t worthwhile or beautiful.
I’ve seen firsthand what colorism can do to children’s self-esteem. My husband of 11 years is black. We have 4 children. He has a daughter from a previous relationship with a black woman. This is a very pretty girl. She is very dark, with the most beautiful chocolate skin and the prettiest brown eyes. She is gorgeous, cute, sweet, and brilliant. She’s in her teens and is a bit plump but carries it well. Lately she’s been feeling down about her looks. She compares herself to my daughters, her biracial half-sisters. She wishes she had the pale skin and bright blue eyes of my youngest daughter and the straight fine brown hair of the other one.
Her own hair is kinky, relaxed, and shoulder-length. She has very pronounced African features. My daughters have very sharp European features and fair skin, along with slim body shapes. People have made some very cruel comments to her about her looks. She would sometimes come home from school or the mall in tears because somebody said something about her hair or features or complexion. Most of the time it was other black kids who would pick on her. I love her very much although I’m not her biological mother. All I can do to undo the damage is to shower her with lots of love and positive reinforcements…which is something all children need no matter their race or color. People have said to her, “you’re pretty for a black girl”, which upset me. People have told her that my children with her father are better than she is. Those comments kill me. It was black folks saying these things to a little girl! Would they say that stuff to their own kids? I wonder.
With white people, it is only different in the sense that hair color and overall appearance are judged. I have dark brown hair and bright blue eyes. Both my older sisters are natural blondes with blue eyes. They were considered more beautiful than me because of that. I show her images of beautiful, confident black women to show her that she too is beautiful in her own way. She looks up to Laila Ali at the moment. We all have our insecurities when society presents an “ideal” of beauty. There is no ideal because we’re all different and have different notions of beauty. I see the beauty in all my female friends. Black women with their full lips, luscious hair, and shades of caramel/mocha/chocolate/cinnamon/ebony. White women with all our diverse hair colors and eye colors. Asian women with their gorgeous skin and hair. Latinas with their curvy shapes.
Whew…I’m sorry my post was so long, lol! It’s just that I relate to this stuff by way of my stepdaughter. Since her mother is absent from her life, I try to help her deal with issues like this. Oh, and Bill…I don’t know you but you come off as racist. If you’ve never been with a white woman or lived with one, you have no business making broad statements. My husband will tell you that I’m very clean, in shape, fit, and carry myself well. Most middle-class white women are like this. Not all white females wash their hair daily. Most do because our hair is not dry like black people’s. It tends to be oily and can look limp if it isn’t washed. I’ve never had lice or insects in my hair. What bullshit! Our hair care is different from that of black people because we have different hair types. And I’m sure that anal bleaching is something that a very small minority of women do. Check your facts before you generalize.
