King, who pursued her father’s dream of racial harmony through drama and motivational speaking, died late Tuesday in Santa Monica, Calif., said a spokesman for the King Center.

The family did not know the cause of death, but relatives think it might have been a heart problem, the spokesman, Steve Klein, said.

“She was an actress, author, producer, advocate for peace and non-violence, who was known and loved for her motivational and inspirational contributions to society,” the King family said in a statement.

Born Nov. 17, 1955, in Montgomery, Ala., Yolanda Denise King was just an infant when her home was bombed amid the turbulent civil rights era.

She became an actress, ran a production company and appeared in numerous films, including “Ghosts of Mississippi,” and as Rosa Parks in the 1978 miniseries “King.”

Sigh sadly, I think it’s Ginuwine was well. His last CD Back II Basics sold less than 300,000 copies here in the US. The plays don’t pay that well most artist just use them for exposure for their upcoming releases or to keep their names fresh in the minds of their fans so they are not completely surreal life material. And at one time there were quite a few celeb women & models (even before Sole’ came in the picture) that were seen or wanted to be seen on Ginuwine’s arm (& by that I really mean in his bed lol). He was definitely a sex symbol back in the late 90’s & early 2000’s & he has not had a hit since in those jeans. So sad, but so true. Jaheim was big but never that big, Tyrese is still getting paid like a mutha frome his movies & they still show his old Coca-cola commercials overseas so he gets check from those & Black Ty did respectable (it was actually a very good album, but these days people don’t BUY music anymore), Tank has penned more hits for other folks than a little bit & song writing pays more than you own album most of the time anyway.
