I don’t think that black women are necessarily “closed-minded” when it comes to dating outside of their race. I think if anything other races are more closed minded when it comes to dating and marrying black women. I also don’t care if a blk man dates outside of his race. I personally wouldn’t do it. But it doesn’t bother me one bit.

I am a single female, but its by choice. No matter what I’ve been through with blk men (and its been some shit), it still doesn’t deter me from loving them. I think the whole inter racial dating thing - black men dating white women- comes from years…no, no, centuries of being told that you’re not good enough to have a white woman. Wow, so much ignorance in one post it’s amazing. To the sistahs who are hating on the black male celebrities dating outside their race, why in the HELL do you care? He is not going to date YOU so live and let live! If you only want to date within your race and do that then go ahead but don’t hate on somebody else because they are equal opportunity daters.

To Divalish Foxx: How is a black man choosing to date outside of his race for his own reasons (which I don’t think you can speak for every black man who dates outside his race so you don’t know the reasons) mean that he is disrespecting black women?? Someone having a relationship with someone else outside their race does not mean they don’t have love for people within their race, it doesn’t mean they’d never date their race again so I don’t know where you are getting that from. You are making so many assumptions “once they get money they can’t trust a black woman” all from a stupid picture, you don’t even know the man! You need to stop. And a real strong black woman doesn’t get her self-esteem from looking at who other people, especially not celebrities, date. If you do, then you have some real issues.

I disagree with those that say that black men don’t complain about black women being with another race. I’ve seen it time and time again. Maybe not on here but it does happen. I would never limit myself to just black men. If i did, i would be lonely. I do think that black women just need to drop it.

I’ve dated outside of my race and pls believe me when i say that when i was out with my man, there were just as many black men that had something negative to say as black women. So i say to those guys, until you walk a day in a black woman’s shoes that has dated a white man, i don’t wanna hear it. Those same guys have probably seen a fine black woman on t.v and are like “what is she doing with him”?

Brian looks very stylish and classy. I’m enjoying his album TEN. Comfortable is my jam. I would love to see him perform live.

I don’t need to step my game up… am a classy 20 year old Black woman and I get stares every day from Black, White, Arabic, Asian, Indian and whatever other kind of man I may happen to cross paths with. I am not jealous of any White woman, and some of them have stared me down when they see me coming because their an is looking too hard. I am proud of being Black and I represent it to the fullest. Also if most Black women have an independent attitude, its because we HAVE TO. We have historically ALWAYS HAD TO PLAY THE ROLE OF A MAN AND A WOMAN.
Slaving out on the field with the Black man was always followed by having his children as well, still taking care of his home and children as well as breast feeding the Slave masters children and cleaning his White wife’s house! This is not a brand new ideology in the mind of the Black Woman.
Its not the same for White women, atleast not most of them.

Also, the womens independence/suffrage movement was pushed by a vast majority of WHITE women. just get it straight thats all.
