If you are going to determine how popular a single is based on radio airplay, I wouldn’t use Houston’s two urban radio stations as an example —- because they suck. They only play regional music. No stratch that they only play Houston rap artists music. The same four or five songs by Paul Wall, Lil Keke, Hawk (may he rest in peace), and Mike Jones, in addition to that screwed and chopped stuff is the only thing I hear on the radio here. Not knockin their hustle but dam it’s only so much chunking up the duece a person can take. Anyway Rihanna is not professing to be the next Whitney Houston, but she does serve her purpose. She makes catchy songs with nice beats. And while we’re all clowning Rihanna what popular R&B artist does have remarkable pipes. I can’t think of five off the top of my head. Music now is get rich quick. Even the most popular artist today won’t be remembered for the exceptional quality of their music ten years from now.

What else can really be said about rihanna? She is a better singer than Cassie but that is not saying much. Def Jam will pimp her out until the next hottest thing comes along. First I would like to say that Rihanna is a very talented and beautiful young woman. She has certain uniqueness about her voice, which makes her stand out from other artists that stay on their grind everyday. Just because her voice has that certain carribean sound to it, doesn;t make her bad singer. Although people may not like her song choice, or the lyrics that she uses in her song, she is overall a young,talented rising star, who will eventually appeal rise to the top.

Good Girl Gone bad, isn’t this a similar beat to Beyonce’s Irreplaceable??? The song’s iight, for a pop joint. But again, her voice just doesn’t impress me. I agree that she’s just in it for looks and I disagree with how pretty some may think she is and I do agree with some of you about her not having that great of a shape and her not being that sexy or sexy at all. This is just how I feel and there will be no surprise when she’s forgotten later this year and all of the years after.

I Like the Majority of the Cd and “Say it” Is a nice summer drive song. I know Rihanna loves what she’s doing right now and thats why i wish her sucess because this is her dream and she’s living it to the fullest and i’m not gonna try to play her. I Like her voice along with alot of the “Non- Singers”. It’s Just more fun singing along with their songs than singing along to the songs of “Real Singers” Mary and others aren’t making songs that i can dance and have fun to, but Rihanna and Ciara are doing that and the queen of that whole catergory Jsnet also does it well. All of the songs from this album are potential singles, even though a couple songs are reminiscent of other songs. But at least the album doesn’t sound rushed. I think Rihanna will be here to stay after this album.

I just got done listening to the full album at work and i must say i’m really impressed with it, Rihanna made a nice fum album influenced with a lot of different sounds and styles, will the album end the ills of the worlds no but its a feel good album you can dance and do whatever to.

Aaliyah for such a young age had vocal control and she had a good ear, although her voice was not large or huge, she truly understood music and was marred and admired by greats such as Quincy Jones, and others.
