This fool has officially pissed me off and to think it used to love his show, “The Hughley’s.”
That’s some staright up BS..I don’t give a damn if those girls don’t look like Black Barbie’s why would he talk about how they look ….that is pretty low. They’re not even celebrities.YOu don’t do no shit like that.
Damn, that was not a nice thing to say at all. And it was really not necessary. I’m disappointed by what he said too, you can’t say stuff like that about women.

Uh oh….*smh*….That was a very ignorant thing for him to say. From watching him do stand-up comedy I know he usually makes some bold and offensive statements (as alot of comedians do) but he SHOULD not have gone there!

I love me some sistas but damn those girls are ugly.When I saw their picture,I thought there was a mix up and that I was actually looking at the men’s basketball team.
I was actually watching it that night. For some reason it did not surprised me that D.L. would stoop so low to say something like that. He’s just a prime example as to why blacks are look upon in such negative light, not taken seriously, and would not support each other and grow as a race.
He’s sitting there with a white italian man (Jay Leno) and maybe 98% white audience and he didn’t take the opportunity to support those black women, but instead he chose to throw a few jabs at them also. D.L. is just a weak ignorant black man. And Jay is sitting there as if he’s so surprise when he made those comments, when everyone knows that those interviews are rehearsed.
I DON’T AGREE WITH THE COMMENTS ABOUT THE YOUNG LADIES FROM THE RUTGERS BASKETBALL TEAM. I DO AGREE THAT DON IMUS AND D.L. It doesn’t really surprise me. DL has always been that kind of comedian to say borderline inappropriate things. What he said wasn’t necessarily false, just the wrong place and time to say it!!

Excuse me, but why is it unacceptable for Imus to call them nappy headed hoes, but rappers say way more filthy and disgusting things about black women?? Nah, there is no reason to defend D.L. He was wrong; bottom line. It would be one thing if he initiated the joke but to add to it after such a sensitive and heated debate; wasn’t funny. He could have easily defended Imus or agreed w/ him w/o calling them Nappy Headed again.

Bill, I agree with you…D.L. has lost his mind! However, it’s not a new revelation! I saw him at the Improv in West Palm Beach last summer. It was a mixed crowd. He only played to the whites. Meaning, he talked about how blacks weren’t allowed over the bridge in Palm Beach after dark. but he was staying at the Breakers over there. He talked about Sam’s club and carpooling. (Not to say that we don’t go to Sam’s club or carpool but his motives were clear to me.) He smoked a cigar and blew smoke AWAY from the front tables (2) where a party of whites were and blew in TOWARDS the tables over his shoulder where we were sitting. His tickets were about 25% more than Cedrick (the entertainer). hE WAS 90% LESS FUNNY THAN CED! So, I made a decision then that he was not going to ever have the privilage of my company EVER again! lol..His comments are not suprising. I do agree that we have the right to freedom of speech but can I share an experience from just this past weekend in Orlando? I was at a Nike Store off 194 about 3 miles from disney. The store was pretty packed. I heard some yelling and of course peeped to check things out. This white guy was agruing with a sista, who was shopping with three other women. He called her a Nappy headed ho! Black folks were ready to fight. The guys wife was like please don’t hurt him! It was crazy! If Imus had not said it then others would not feel so comfortable to say what they may be thinking!

I was thinking after leaving the Nike store on Saturday how I am so sick of “race”. How hurtful others can be to us and we can be to each other. Black People from all sorts of backgrounds have debated on how to make things better for our people. We have tried education, economic uplifting, some have tried to look like them and sound like them. Some go totally in the oposite direction and embrace our heritage by the way they look and speak. At the end of the day, I wonder HOW FAR HAVE WE REALLY GOTTEN? All the fighting and debating, many have lost their lives and for what? For others to accept us? I think we have given them more credit than they deserve! We want them to accept us heck they should want to be accepted by us! Truth be told they are the minority. We just keep buying into their bs. We must value our self worth.

My daughter is on her way to college on a dual scholarship (academics and athletics). She si a basketball player. And she has long hair that’s not course but when she is in a tournament and gets sweaty, It rolls up and stinks. But that does NOT make her a nappy headed ho! Russell Simmons did it when he publicy forgave Eminem for dissing black women on the record a few years ago, Nelly did it with his video, and now DL Hughley did it on primetime television.
These are examples of black men with no regard for thei cutltre just themselves and their form/brand of entertainment and income, regardless of what they spin. Yes DL had a valid point about some of our leaders’ priorities, but they sure as heck did something positive in sending the message that you cannot talk about BLACKS the way you want to and get awy with it, DL basically gave whites and all other non blacks a chance to say
