ON THE SET: T.I FT. WYCLEF - “YOU KNOW WHAT IT IS”
Wednesday, May 16, 2007

Through T.I just shot the video for his current single “Big Things Poppin”, he’s already at work at his next video shoot for the song “You Know What It Is” featuring Wyclef. The video was shot by director and friend Chris Robinson. I see Tiny wasn’t at this set which explains why that badonkadonk is laying over her man…
You can view more photos from the set over at Ozone

Isnt’t that what parents are for? To teach their kids about what’s wrong with materialism and censor things for them? The problem is our community has too many half assed parents. Too many broken homes from people having kids without any commitments. It starts with community. The entertainment industry is full of sex. Sex sells, don’t try and blame it all on the hip hop industry.

I heard the song and it’s not going to be as big as everyone involved with putting the record out thinks. It’s kinda lame….much like the first single. I personally think T.I. should have taken a break. He was on a roll. But I think every artist who releases multiple albums in short amounts of time needs to know when to TAKE A BREAK. It happened to Ludacris. It’s going to happen to Rihanna. And I think T.I.
And the girls are not “hoes”.

Yes I mentioned Wrecks N Effects, but there was a balance, there was not JUST wrecks N effects. I tried to illustrate that by showing the different genres. Research who were in the top 100 or even 10 Billboard at that time and it was not as sexually charged as it is now, SEX has got too out of control in how accesible it is to our children.
@74
I ABSOULTELY HATE HATE HATE when people use this as an arguement. have you never heard it takes a village to raise a child. Society has fucking great impact on children. Even if you raise a child to the best of your ability, if he goes to school and his peers have “not so attentive” parents that can be a serious influence. Do you honestly fucking believe that these artists kids can sit down infront of television and consume all the bullshit on tv. These motherfuckers have nannies go to private schools and are shielded from alot of the mess on tv.
Times are alot more worse ecomomically now. Alot of parents are working two jobs to make ends meet. they might always be able to supervise their teenage kids. Yes parents have a MAJOR role in the development of their kids, but if corporations spend MILLIONS to influence the way we buy products you thing a 4 minute song has no fucking influence.
Come on and top being so naive

Let the women in the video do what they do.You can’t tell them to stop. They have a choice. You not their mom.Stop trying. It’s not going to work much.If you don’t like it look away. Why not anybody said anything about playboy when them chicks go wayyy nude? You think they going to fix that? Its up to the “parent” to be what…a Parent and monitor what their kids see.
Not sexually charged now?Where have youuuu been?Jodeci doing their act on stage, and like before you said Wreck N Effect, Dr. Dre..you have to be kidding me right?
Yes, I am a woman, but some women seem to be insecure. They say oh he soooo cute but why is that hoe on him?Are you serious?A woman wouldn’t worry about what another woman doing on another man.Its a video. You have a choice to look or not look at it.

I fully understand where you are coming from. Like everything else in our society you are entitled to your opinion. BUT…………….
If you believe that the current state of hiphop is a good influence on our kids, that it is making better citizens of our youth, that the women in the videos are great ambassadors for our women and it will encourage men of ALL races to treat our women like queens and respect them, like their caucasian, asian, oriental and other ethnic counterparts then you are a misguided human!

Ummm thats why you be a parent and limit what they listen and what they see.Kids can grab anything these days.Parents have to be a role model to their kids NOT HIP HOP ARTIST OR THE WOMEN THAT ARE IN THE VIDEO!You have to be serious to think that Hip Hop artist and the women in the video “have” to be role models for kids.

I am not saying that they have to be “role” models.
Are you a spiritual person? Are you aware of ones self? Or reason you are here? Or life in general? What you put out there comes back. Jesus said if you “live by the sword you die by the sword.” Did Tupac or Biggie not show us anything? Why is it we as a people try to erase and re write history?
By putting out “filth” cnsuming “filth” and not just knowing it is there or at worst in moderation. What on earth do you think will happen to the next generation?
it is not like there are groups like Public Enemy, Rakim, Afrika Bambaataa, Zulu Nation, Mos Def etc out there right nw giving a balanced account of our history. Most kids now know Nelly, 50, TI etc., if music and the arts reflect our culture and our society where it is today do you not thnk there is going to be an impact?
Do you really believe that the blame/responsiblity rests solely on the shoulders of the parents?
You obviously do not have kids, or just ignore how hard it is to raise kids right now. Even the most innocent song like “buy you a drank” by T PAIN has kids singing “lets get drunk forget about what we did” and advocating excesive patron drinking, yet binge drinking is a very big problem in america especially underage drinking.
Many companies se increased profits, like adults buying Cristal because of Jazy Z, Couvarsier because of Busta, Tug Passion because of tupac, kids and adults buy Jordans because of their favourite NBA stars. White Tees, Air Force ones etc etc the list is endless, and you say the music has no bearing on it!!!! That the parents whould shut of the radio, the tv EVERYTIME these things come on. The radio stations play the same thing over and over again…. and you advocate that, you condone it you embrace it?
What kind of ignorance am I up against, what kind of person am I discussing this with who says that ME as one parent should have the powerand know how in raising my child rigt to go against pop culture and the media!?!?! Is that even a realistic point you have made??

it appears to me that BLACKS have one major problem. That only when something effects them directly do they come together. This is not like the Civil RIghts era (and I see why they call it an era). Songs and videos that portray women as sexual objects and solely as “eye candy” ave a negative effect when viewed over and over again, whether you believe it or accept it. Now your point is well then, limit the amount of time that you view it. I agree with you there also. So lets do an experiment. You turn of the television radio or close a paper and skate over everytime you are confronted with a Paris Hilton story, try it with Beyonce, and definitely with the next “sex tape” or scandal you come across. Imagine trying to monitor it for yourself AND a child. And ten you will grasp wat I am talking about and how hard it truly is. Because whilst people were dying in Darfur, whilst a war was going on, I bet you knew two things for sure, that a) anna Nicole Smith died and that b) who the father turned out to be…
and the sad thing is, you may not even of cared, but it found you……….

It’s true though, women are already being degraded in society yet they still chose to show they asses.
Music videos used to be throw back in the old days where there was actually dancing involved.
Now all you need is some 25lb lookin’ bling accompanied by some exspensive ride and big asses and you set. There ain’t no creativity anymore.

What is all this talk about kids?? It’s not all about the kids, its about all of US. Dont you know its effects the general population? Unlike white people, we are only portrayed one way in mass media. black women are either a mammie, or a video hoe. whereas white women are given a variety from hugh hefners playboy bunnies to the respected actress, journalists, politicians, directors, executives, and comedians, wherein blacks are the butt of the jokes she tells, etc.
Never underestimate the power of image, mass media and racial/gender stereotypiing. It effects how you and I are perceived when we are walking in around in public, getting respect, looking for a possible marriage mate, or more importantly vying for gainful employment.
So is there a double standard? yes. But that doesn’t mean that we have to fall into the traps that are already set for us, by agreeing to do videos like this.

don’t blame the rappers cuz nobody’s forcing these hoes to do what they don’t want
i mean do y’all want rappers to have a bunch of half naked dudes in their videos?that’s that faggot shit, dudes like bitches with big titties and a fat assjust like the bitch sitting on TI, so that’s what are shown in the videos. for anybody talking about self esteem for girls, young boys don’t get low self esteem, just cuz girls like bow wow, chris brown or b2k so that’s not an argument.
and peace to wyclef, representin all y haitians.

….and comments like @ PHILLIDON, almost proves my point. I think it is sae to say that RAP is like the “enabler” in drug addiction, who is jut as bad, has empowered him to call women “bitches” generally, okay so maybe he ddn’t call them hoes, but tey are all bitches to me, so hopefully JUST AN OBSERVATION you can now se my point.
as for TWINTRON4 I completely agree sister, it is not just kids it affects/effects ALL of us.
peace

TO ALL THE COMMENTS SAYING ONLY BLACK WOMEN ARE BEING DEGRADED, I DISAGREE. THOUGH IT IS POPULAR IN HIP HOP WOMEN IN GENRAL ARE DEGRADED. I DON’T SEE PLAYBOY AS A GREAT RESPECTABLE PUBLICATION NO MATTER HOW MUCH SOCIETY EMBRACES IT,SO I SEE THAT AS DEGREGATION ALSO. ANY FORM OF PUTTING WOMEN ON DISPLAY WITH OVERT SEXUALITY WHETHER RESPECTED MY SOCIETY OR NOT IS WRONG PERIOD.
PEOPLE ARE SO QUICK TO SAY “BLACK WOMEN DO THIS” BUT HEY SO DO OTHER WOMEN (NOT JUSTIFYING JUST CLARIFYING).
AND TO RESPOND TO #89, JUST PICK UP A BLACK ENTERPRISE AND ESSENCE, EBONY, EVEN A JET MAG AND YOU WILL SEE ALOT OF WOMEN OF COLOR REPRESENTING WOMEN VERY WELL. SOME PEOPLE CHOOSE TO IGNORE IT BUT HEY THAT’S LIFE.

1. That woman ‘doggy-styled’ over TI’s lap is bangin’ for real!!!
2. But, I would NOT hit it, or any girl in the ‘rap industry’. They are stank and carry diseases from these gutter rappers. Just a thought.
3. Yes, hiphop is ignorant and foolish, with all this phat booty, diamonds, and rolls royce crap. I don’t listen to it.
4. And, yes, I am sure that TI ‘banged that ass out’, strong, and even more than that chick over the next few days.
Whatever. Gutter people. Gutter perspectives. Gutter actions. Gutter offspring. Gutter future.

ALL I KNOW NONE OF THE MONEY IS BEING SEEN BY ME OR ANYONE ELSE THAT IS MAKING COMMENTS SO WHO CARES! GET A LIFE!
