Chrisette Michele is a talented young woman. We’ve heard what she had to offer when the big dogs of hip hop, Jay-Z and Nas, both put her on their singles from their latest albums. Her voice was a breath of fresh air and everyone was wondering what was going to come next for the New York native. Well now, fans have her new album, “I Am” to look forward to from Def Jam on June 19th. For all of you guys that have just fallen in love with her voice, and really got into the interview that she did with the lovely Angel, I wanted to post up some songs. Also, Chrisette’s “Your Joy” has been added to iTune’s “Single of the Week” this week, and she’s currently on tour with Musiq Soulchild.
NOTE: A good version of her single “Your Joy” hasn’t been leaked yet, but I will post it as soon as I get one. In the mean time, you can listen to it on her MySpace page, which I provided a link for below.

Keri Hilson - High Heels (snippet) - REMOVED
I really laughed when I first heard this song. Upon reading the title, I was wondering what could possibly be talked about in this song, what the lyrics could have possibly been. This Cornerboyz produced this song, which is a surprise to me, because I thought Timbaland, Danja and Polow Da Don were producing her album in its entirety. However, it’s too far before her release to even say that this will even appear on the album. But either way, check Keri Hilson on MySpace.
Justin Timberlake - Summer Love (full) - download
Justin Timberlake’s “Summer Love” is lighting up iTunes these days, I didn’t even realize that he was releasing it as a single. But I guess it would make sense to release right at the beginning of, you guessed it, summer! “Summer Love” was always one of my favorite songs from JT’s “FutureSex/LoveSounds,” and I’ll sure say one thing. He did a good job of making this album stretch.
Kanye had to do a little redeeming of himself because these past couple of remixes he’s gotten on (which not so randomly have also been songs that he wishes he’d made) have been really wack to me. Although, automatically, I’m not drawn into this song, I can see the appeal it could have to his fans. However, I don’t think that this is single material at all. It just doesn’t take me to a place that Kanye West’s other singles have - it honestly, dones’t even sound like one of his productions. The song really doesn’t do anything for me. Lyrically, it doesn’t really do anything for me, and as far as the production, it doesn’t really give me what I need. And what’s up with Jeezy in the background? We’ll see…
Check out these pictures of Ludacris, his mama Roberta Shields, and his beautiful daughter Karma at 4th Annual Ludacris Foundation Dinner & Casino Night. TOO CUTE!!
Check out Tyra Banks and The newest winner of “America’s Next Top Model” Jaslene Gonzalez at The CW Network Upfront at Madison Square Garden. I stopped watching that show last season, so I didn’t even know it was still on.
Mya was spotted rocking the same outfit during the Las Vegas All-Star Weekend back in February. The singer rocked the dress with pants during the day and without them during the night. When did she look better? Shout out to Urban Hoopla for spotting this one.
Every once in awhile I come across a quote from a celeb and I say, “WTF was he/she smoking??” Check out what R.Kelly said in the recent issue Hip-Hop Soul:
My greatest competition is, well, me . . . I’m the Ali of today. I’m the Marvin Gaye of today. I’m the Bob Marley of today. I’m the Martin Luther King, or all the other greats that have come before us. And a lot of people are starting to realize that now.
Ciara has been chosen as the spokesperson for Rocawear Ladies clothing and will be featured in the line’s New Fall 2007 Campaign titled I Will Not Lose. What a honor right…wait, does anyone even wear Rocawear ladies?
Well who cares - the campaign will feature testimonials by individuals who have overcome various hardships - including a speech by Amy Steele, editor of the Virginia Tech’s college newspaper. A celebration for the singer’s new announcement was held yesterday with a toast of Armand de Brignac at Buddakan in New York - Jay Z and Jeezy were attendance.
In other Ciara news, the singer is set to make her video directing debut. She will be directing the video for the winner of the Glamour Reel Music competition. The three finalists happen to include Tiffany Evans, who has Ciara on one of her songs.
