You may remember a while back (and I do mean a while - this may be for the throwback CL’ers!), I posted a song by Le’Che Martin, of Making the Band 3 fame. She was a contestant that didn’t get to the finals, but she’s been working her way through the industry, writing and selling songs. Last summer, she collaborated with Rich Harrison and Rico Love with the song, “Get Away,” which was featured on the CL Summer Mixtape. I absolutely loved the song and fell immediately for Le’Che’s delivery. I was under the impression that the song was to be sold. However, when previewing the Amerie album, I noticed that the same Rich Harrison track had been recycled, and the lyrics changed. Immediately, I was turned off because I was so used to Le’Che’s version, however, that’s not to say that I didn’t think Amerie’s song wasn’t a good song… I was a little surprised, considering I remember reading somewhere that Amerie wouldn’t be working with Rich Harrison this time around - and technically, she didn’t, ’cause this track’s been done. This is just an amusing video of The Game falling off stage at USC’s 2007 Springfest. Apparently, the performance took place on April 21, but I just thought that this was super hilarious. I guess gangsters can take a fall too. I especially think it’s hilarious how the only thing he really addresses is how he “scuffed his Jordans.” Ha.
Forget the Kentucky Derby, celebs partied hard at the Grand Opening of the Tao Beach Club in Las Vegas this weekend. After ‘Pretty Boy’ Floyd Mayweather Jr. beat Oscar De La Hoya everyone went out and got their drank on. I mean look at some of the pics from inside - everyone was tipsy! I don’t blame them though, that shit looked fun.
Instead of getting their party on in Vegas, some black celebs hit up the 133rd Kentucky Derby down in Louisville. For the most part the same people from last year showed up and the ladies were looking fly sporting their big hats. It’s good to see our people looking good and having fun - with NO DRAMA!!
I was hoping I would see Gabrielle Union and Darren Sharper all hugged up again, but I guess that’s over and done with. Telling from the pic above it looks like she is getting at Mike. Speaking of Michael Jordan, someone needs to watch his ass. He has been shamelessly getting his mack on at various events. And why was O.J. Simpson’s ass down there? Random!

Anyway, this weekend at Mr. Chows (in New York), he celebrated his legalization with a close-knit party. I got some inside scoop from the party too. Here is what an attendee sent us:
Everything was flawless. The party was very elegant but still fun. Chris gave a speech and was very emotional about it and of course, gave props to his mom and even began to cry a little. It was cute. He gave props to Ne-Yo and Bow for being his “brothers”.
He performed his new single, Wall to Wall and announced a tour coming soon. Oh and he sung “If I Ain’t Got You” by Alicia Keys for his mom.
Anyway, happy birthday Chris. You better watch out now it’s not safe out there for you anymore. LMAO!
Mya, Serena Williams, Rashida Jones, and other celebs attended the Louis Vuitton “Love” party last week in NYC. The event was hosted by Scarlett Johansson. And I have to say that Serena is not playing around with her new look. I’m loving it.
Halle Berry and her boo Gabriel Aubry attended a party for Laura Meyer and Robyn Roth’s new book “Remodel This!” last week in Cali. Halle is currently remodeling one her houses in Malibu. // Mary J. Blige and husband Kendu attended the ‘Shrek the third’ premiere in Cali yesterday; Eddie Murphy was also there. He needs to hurry up and take that paternity test already - that shit is getting old!!
