Without a doubt he is one of the greatest writers, producers and musicians of our time. I love what I have heard so far from this album. He’s back to his stort telling ways on Best Friend with Keysha Cole and Polow Da Don. Havin’ A Baby is also one of the greatest signature R. Kelly songs on Double Up as well.

As for R. Kelly the man, he has his flaws like every person does in the world. It is really not for us to judge, but his Creator on his judgement day. I do agree though that he should have his trial so that he and we know where he stands; this has gone for a long time. I felt the same with Michael Jackson, I wanted it to be over, whether it was in his favour or not (which turned out to be in his favour)

Basically, I may not agree with what R. Kelly as a person has done, I’m not gonna judge him for that; but I certainly am going to listen to his music if it sounds good to me.

Let’s get the facts straight. Whether you do or don’t want to judge anyone, the United States has these really cool things called laws that attempt to maintain order and protect us as citizens. For example, when you are a grown man, you are supposed to be a responsible party and not engage in sexual activities with minors. Why? Because minors, whether they consent to or enjoy sex, are often not responsible enough to make smart decisions. So in this case, R. Kelly should have been more responsible and not had sex with a minor.

Second, as talented a producer and singer R. Kelly is, he is nowhere near what he used to be. Now he just looks like a semi-washed up singer begging for spins on the radio. HE IS 40 YEARS OLD. Its like his music has become less and less mature through the years.

Third, and most importantly, don’t go around making songs about promiscuity and drinking and then make songs like “Heaven I Need a Hug” and “U Saved Me”. THAT is contradictory. he needs to stop making songs that exploit our people and promote unhealthy and irresponsible behaviors that he damn well knows are wrong.

They did and all tapes were gone and the house was cleaned out. That did not know about ALL of his homes here in IL, all of his homes wee not in his name “at the time”. So they went into the home that the note on the tape said it was made at.

By the time this all broke in the media the house was cleaned out. If I’m correct they had the tape for two weeks before the Media got whole of what was going on.

I have a question? What makes R. Kelly “the greastest,” or the “King of R&B”?

I’m just curious. What is it about his music?

I am a former fan of his, mainly because his music has lacked substance as of late. Plus, I’m not sure I know the real R.Kelly. One minute he’s writing songs about bumping and grinding and the next its heaven i need a hug. granted, the conflict in his music makes him appear to be more like you and I (less than perfect), but is it real? Even when I was a fan, I was never like “OMG R.kelly is the King!”

Artists like Prince, MJ, Diana Ross, Chaka Khan, Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, Barbara Streisand, The Temptations, Earth Wind and Fire…those are whom I’d consider the greatest.

Just because an artist has been able to sustain longetivity, does not garner them the King of R&B. Perhaps, people give him that title because, right now there are slim pickings in the industry.

R. Kelly is very talented, yes. But the King of R&B, or the greatest? I have to disagree on that note.

Now, whether he is a pedaphile or not, is not mainly of my concern. My concern is why hasn’t this case gone to trial, TO DETERMINE guilt or innonence?! Five years is unheard of. He must have a really good defense team and must be shelling out big bucks. And the fact that he seems unphased by the legal troubles in his backyard troubles me even more. It’s like he’s laughing at us…all the way to the bank.

People need to judge this man on his music and nothing else. There are plenty of artist that do things in their personal life that most of us don’t agree with. I seen the tape an although I was upset at what I was watching I couldn’t help but notice the young lady was enjoying herself. That was not her first time have sex she was a pro. People acting like he blind folded her, strapped her to a bed while she screamed stop!

I don’t excuse his actions, but I don’t judge him either I leave that up to God. Nobody is perfect.

I really think that the fact that someone has done something wrong should not influence the way you appreciate his music. We all do wrong in our lives, that notwithstanding, we are good at what we are good at. He is a great singer. You can despise what he did, but refuse to buy his album because you think his music sucks. Not because he urinated on a minor… who by the way looks like an adult.
