Rihanna is featured in the June 2007 issue of Essence magazine with a beautiful fashion spread. the singer explains her new “glam rock” look that she went for with this album:
Amber-eyed and statuesque, the tomboy turned budding fashionista and newly minted Cover Girl spokesmodel is all set to release her third CD, Good Girl Gone Bad, June 5. Rihanna’s got high hopes to continue her reign over the domestic and international pop charts, saying, “I have a lot of faith in this album.”
In the last couple of years, the 19-year-old has grown up, and her style is maturing as well. This year the rising star will infuse her good-girl image with a touch of glam rock. She says of her evolving look, “It’s definitely going to be different from what people are used to.” But for this brief relaxing moment in the sun, the dress code is easy elegance: attire as soft and fresh as a tropical breeze.

Am I the only one who don’t like Rhianna’s new song…Jay’s part was hard but uh that song really sucks. Rhianna is very pretty but her new hair is whack n so are those pics….Essence is a classy African American magazine….those pics belong n Seventeen or sum shit like that
