RIHANNA SAYS “SHUT UP & DRIVE!”
With all the success of Rihanna’s latest single, “Umbrella” featuring none other than Jay-Z, Rihanna is trying to let you know that she has staying power. She’s kicked out 3 albums in the past 3 years. Each of the albums though, Rihanna has tried to keep in touch with her Carribean roots. I think that this time around, Rihanna may have abandoned that. On “Shut Up & Drive,” it took me a little while to get into it, but towards the end, it has the vibe of an old 80′s pop record, and I can appreciate what she was going for on the song. I’ll repost as soon as we get the high quality version of it.

this song is “catchy” and will appeal to people with a 5 year olds ear for music, but its very poppy. it sounds like something they wanted to give to Britney Spears before she went all loopy.
It is sad how white musicians are allowed to cross over to the black genre, but blacks arent allowed to do the same. for insance Nadia Turner (from American Idol) was saying how she loves to sing rock and everytime a record exec meet her there like “you have a great sound and a great voice, but we dont know how to market a black girl who sings rock” WTF!!
