Last week, A disk jockey filed a misdemeanor battery complaint against comedian Tracy Morgan, saying the NBC sitcom star inappropriately groped her at a South Florida radio station Friday morning.
Yuleika De Castro told police that Morgan smelled of alcohol as he touched her shoulders and arms, kissed the back of her head, Miramar Police Department spokesman Bill Robertson said.
De Castro said she pushed him away and he was escorted out of the studio by the people he came with, Robertson said.
De Castro, whose on-air name is Sandy Domingo, said she filed the complaint because she felt “violated” and “dirty.”
“He said he wants to impregnate me,” Domingo told The Associated Press.

Since the original title, The Frog Princess, might be regarded as a slur on the French, the title has been changed to The Princess and the Frog. The main character, named Maddy — who was to become Disney’s first black princess — has had her name changed to Tiana, since Maddy reportedly sounded too much like Mammy. She will no longer be seen as a chambermaid working for a rich, white spoiled Southern débutante.
In a statement, Disney, which said that it ordinarily does not comment on its animated films in the early stages of production, observed: “The story takes place in the charming elegance and grandeur of New Orleans’ fabled French Quarter during the Jazz Age. … Princess Tiana will be a heroine in the great tradition of Disney’s rich animated fairy tale legacy, and all other characters and aspects of the story will be treated with the greatest respect and sensitivity.”

Since the story takes place in New Orleans, why didn’t they change her name to something that is more common with the names of that area and time period. Tiana is probably a name that dates back no later than the 60s/70s if that! I agree with #45…Madeline would have been much better and it’s French! Come on now Disney!

I thought maddie was a cute name. It was short for madelein (sp) and it seems more rememberable than tiana which doesnt even sound like a black name used in the 20′s. And what is wrong with her having a cute puff?
I rather have a black princess with NATURAL hair than a white washed one with long straight weavealicious sandy brown hair. We dont need more little blacks girls prayin and wishing their hair could”swing” or “hang” like white girls hair. I’m sure most black women have went through that stage (or still going through it) and I feel it needs to stop!
Plus my daughter would LOVE a nappyheaded doll to play with, if disney does this right it could be really good for black women and girls everywhere. Im not expecting every woman to through out the dark and Lovely, but an appreciation for the natural texture that god blessed us with wouldnt hurt. Atleast it could stop the nappy hate that is directed towards natural women.
@Charmane, I totally agree with you. Maddie is a very cute name to me. I see nothing wrong with it and it’s representitive of the time. In my honest opinion to be upset with the name would be ignoring that part of our history. The Kizzys, Maddies, Nettys and Dessies(my Grandmother’s name) are apart of who we are and I think we should embrace and appreciate it. If movie producers created movies based upon what wouldn’t offend people then there wouldn’t be ANY movies at all. Tiana is a cute name but it didn’t exist at the time, Maddie did. Her skin tone is beautiful, her hair is beautiful and in fact she resembles my niece and I hope they keep her looking the way she does, beautiful.

It is 2007 and after hundreds of years in this country we still have black folks who don’t realize that by putting down nappy, kinky whatever you want to call it hair by viewing it as something to be fixed or disguised, they are uplifting the idea that only straight hair is acceptable. Now I respect everyone’s freedom of hairstyle choice. So let’s stop with disrespect of naturally nappy, kinky, curly hair so that the next generation can do something as simple as get caught out in the rain without an umbrealla and not have to cancel their day!

Now Im not a nappy nazi, and I’m not saying that relaxed hair is the devil….but I love the fact that I can go swimming/excersize/get caught in the rain and my hair will actually look BETTER (if its not in a protective style) because the water will refresh it back to life. Plus there is something about rocking your natural hair that gives you extra confidence.

ok the actual story behind this whole prince thing goes as follows (and i must add i was at the front of the stage when this happened, so was in full view of what went on!)
abt 9-10ppl (guys/girls) were chosen to go up on stage to just dance a bit in the back, whilst an instrumental set was playing. prince was doing his thing on the guitar, and this one girl acted like every1 was there to see her, and started doin some next booty shakin in the middle of the stage. when it came to prince to start singing again he got up to the mic and next thing u know this girl has kissed him on the cheek, so prince pretends to faints, in a jokingly “ive just been kissed by a stranger” manner. he was on the floor 4 a split second! but this girl decides to take it 1 step further and straddles him, she was barely there 4 a second and security took her off stage.
so this pic captures a split sec moment and is very misleading, making it look like she “attacked” him and like he’s was cr@ppin himself. neither of which is true!!! yes she was silly for taking it too far, thinking it would be cool for her to straddle him, but guess she prob just got caught up in the moment. secondly, prince is far tooooo cool to let something like that phase him!!! he got back up and continued to perform his a$$ off. it was not a big deal, prince was not “scared”!!, and finally it was an awesome gig! lol and props to prince 4 even letting fans get up on stage and get that close, how many artists do that nowadays?!!
