Boris Kodjoe is on the cover of Ebony Magazine’s 2007 Father’s Day Edition. According to various sources, Ludacris was originally scheduled to appear on Ebony’s June cover, but was quickly replaced because hip-hop/IMUS racy lyrics thing. I don’t get why they replaced him, but whatever.

Word is Tameka Foster (Usher’s new wifey) is the one behind the management change going on in Usher’s camp. As we reported earlier this week, Usher has confirmed that his mother,Jonetta Patton, (who has been managing him since forever) will no longer take on this duty. Usher has also fired his longtime publicist Simone Smalls.
Word is, Tameka doesn’t want anyone but her in Usher’s ear. Ut oh this relationship sounds dangerous!
In related news, Jawn Murray told the Tom Jorner Morning show that Jonetta (Usher’s mama) has taken out a restraining order on Tameka. I smell DRAMA!!
JANET GOES TO ISLAND?
Jermaine Dupri’s new role as president of urban music at Island records will feature familiar faces – his girlfriend Janet Jackson is set to join him at the label. Dupri is convinced his pop star girlfriend will be an asset to the company after recording fifteen number one hit singles in the U.S. since 1986.
Asked if Jackson will join the label, he tells MTV, “Definitely Janet will end up at Island. That’s without a doubt.”
BEST OF BOTH WORLDS – TEENY BOPPER EDITION
Rapper Bow Wow and R&B star Omarion have patched up their friendship after agreeing to record a double album together. The two pals split last year after a professional dispute but are now on good terms again, and they’re starting work on a joint album project. Bow Wow tells Billboard.com he and Omarion expect to hit the studio before the end of the month.
He says, “Me and O have been trying to put this together for so many years, and now we’ve got the opportunity to do it… Me and him are coming up with ideas daily, so the process is gonna go real smooth. We’re anxious to get in the studio together and make this whole thing happen.”

I became a Ludacris fan once I saw that he a rapper with a brain and he is much more involved and he has evolved as far as his music goes…. Love that song done in Africa. Boris Cudjoe is fine and more appropriate for the look of the magazine…. I do respect the magazines decision in not profiling artists who are negative towards women as their clientele is made up of mostly women. I just hope it not a bad business decision…

Ebony not only replaced Ludracris on the cover, they didn’t even include him and his daughter in the article… but Russell Simmons is included, so they didn’t exclude hip-hop altogether.

I’m glad they replaced Ludacris by Boris, I feel Boris is a much much better model to our people and young boys, as a man. He’s the definition of the perfect man to me, and I’m so proud of him, Nicole, and their beautiful family. I commend EBONY for doing what they did.

WTF, Ludacris Gets Dissed By Ebony Magazine For Boris Kudjoe??
Every since Don Imus made those ridiculous comments regarding the Rutgers Women’s Basketball team that ultimately got him canned, everyone has been feeling the ripples of censorship.
From Television to Radio it seems that we’ve all been playing it extremely safe, particularly in Hip-Hop, when it comes to what we say and how we’re saying it. The hot topic has gotten so heated that it seems that fortune 500 companies as well as national publications are looking at rappers with a certain uneasiness that’s apparently tricked all the way to down to Atlanta rapper Ludacris.
According to published reports Ludacris has been dropped by Ebony Magazine as their June cover guy picking Boris Kudjoe instead. It seems that the Hip-Hop controversy has become all but too much for the conservative magazine and they have just decided to play it safe and go with a squeaky clean family man.
In a statement obtained by Gyant this is what Ebony has to say regarding the matter:
The Don Imus-fueled controversy over misogynistic rap lyrics surrounds Ebony magazine’s recent decision to pull rapper Ludacris from the cover of its June issue on “the New Black Fathers” and replace him with actor, Boris Kodjoe, reports Journal-isms. “Something has changed in America in the last few weeks,” Bryan Monroe, editorial director of Ebony and Jet magazines, told Journal-isms, without disclosing the identity of the rapper. As president of the National Association of Black Journalists, Monroe led the movement to have Imus fired. “I think the media is being called to account in these areas,” Monroe said.
Boris and his children are beautiful, the little girl favors her mother more. I Love to see positive images of fathers of African lineage.
Usher and Tameka: My mother stated that she thinks that Usher is on Drugs, and he is going to go through some struggles because of how he did his mother. Usher is going to lose most of his young fan base-which is his bread and butter. This woman is aging him so badly.
I wish Janet the best, I am glad that she is with a brother.
Bow Wow and Omarion: They need to lose the corn rolls, they look frizzy. Only Allen Iverson should wear cornrolls. Bow Wow grew up quick, or am I getting old.. well, I am 28 so I would say that he grew up quick. Omarion is ok, not my type, because I like my men older, but his music sounds good.
