THE LAST DAYS OF LEFT EYE

splashnews_vgjwla190507a_02.jpg

On Saturday, VH1 premiered the documentary “The Last Days Of Left Eye”, which chronicled the last moments of the rapper as she went on a spiritual journey in Honduras.

Upon watching this documentary, many people seem to confuse Left Eye’s spiritual and self fulling experience with being mentally insane. Lisa was clearly trying to give people more understanding about herself and the things she has went through in her life. She explains everything from her childhood, to being in TLC, and her relationships – mentioning what brought about setting a fire that made her a big name in the media. It was also shocking for many to see the last minutes of the film, where Left Eye is in the car and a few seconds of the accident is revealed.

After watching this, I learned so much more about Left Eye, seeing a genuine, natural beauty and divine spirit in her. Lisa dealt with many battles in her life and now she can finally be at peace. May she continue rest in tranquility…What did you take out of the documentary?

Here is a clip from the film where Left Eye speaks about the fire. If you missed the documentary, check VH1 for reairings or see it now on the Vspot.

To MISSOMYGOODNEZZ: How do you know that Aaliyah was depressed when she died?

  2. plove78

Where was her mother at when she needed help? I just think that she never had any type of closer with her father before he past away, and that maybe the reason why she was on a “self healing” journey in Hounduras.

  3. *DADA*

    # 3 is so fuckin stupid how tha hell she plan the accident if she wanted to kill everybody then she woulda kilt them, dumb ass and by tha way somethin ran on tha road u dumb ass.

I saw the Last Days of Left Eye last night and wanted to add something interesting. I wonder if it was she or Lauren Lazin that cut in the stills marking Days 1 to Day 27?

In numerology there is alot to know but knowing what I noticed kept me up tripping on the strangeness of life.

There are the meanings for 1-9, plus double numbers. Then each person has her/his Destiny Number which is all the numbers in your bday added.

Then there is the Psychic Number which is simply the date you were born added. Lisa’s bday was May 27. 2+7=9. 9 is also the last number in numerological terms because 2-digit numbers are to be added together to make one of the single digits. The 9 vibration is STRONG. 9s are humanitarian, spiritual leaders. They create ultimate changes and affect masses effectively.

Does anyone remember what day of filming it was that the accident occurred? Trip on it! I have been…

  5. numer

oh, one more thing 9 symbolizes is completion. Coming back full circle.

Her spiritual journey had reached a plateu. As I watched it and she showered that morning, it was amazing to me that she exuded peacefulness. She was soo refreshed. Again maybe it was the editing but I’m assuming they put that together in exact chronlogical order.

Maybe she was crazy at times. Maybe she was lost at times. Who isn’t. But she reached what she was meant to reach and her purpose here was fulfilled as far as I see.

  6. numer

scrolling up, i have one more thing to say just for the record of whoever cares.

Numerology and Astrology ARE NOT witchcraft. FACT.

Numerology particularly root back to the Chaldeans, Hindu’s, Ethiopeans, Greeks and the Kabbalah. These are complex systems that strangely reached across almost all the ancient cultures. One is not “worshiping” the numbers or stars in those practices, more using horoscopes and numbers as symbols or maps. Belief of a higher power is a separate element and whether you are Christian, Muslim, Jewish or Hindu or most others there are ancient people you came from that understood theories of Numerology.

I see alot of posts in here raving about how she needed God. She obviously knew that people. She filmed her spritual quest and she was questing right before your very eyes. That’s not satanic or witchcrafty. She put her fate in the hands of higher power. She was NOT killing chickens and casting spells to get Chili and T-Boz to meet her Challenge and make gangloads of cash.

Left Eye made mistakes. Like I say and others say in previous posts, who doesn’t? It’s true folks: don’t cast stones.

I truly believe she met the challenges of her life and achieved whatever it was she was put here to do. To be honest I was down with Chilli and TBoz back in the day and thought LE was being totally arrogant during the rough TLC times.

Seeing the documentary opened my eye to the fact she did care about transcending her mistakes. That does deserve a huge amount of respect.

  7. dell

Damn, left eye is cool. Forgot how cool she was. And it is amazing how asian they made her image when in real life she looked like a cute baby faced black girl. Don’t know if she crashed her car on purpose and if that scene was the actually one that was shown on tv, then that’s a little fricky considering no other music stars got on film almost the moment when they were going to be killed on video camera.

  8. plove78

TO #426 :Numerology and Astrology IS WRONG.Because God created you and knows what’s best for you. His command in this passage of Deuteronomy is clear: if you claim to be a Christian, a child of God, you are to stay away from such activities, even if they seem “harmless” to you. In God’s eyes, they are an “abomination” and you should not listen to their supposed truths. He wants you to listen only to the truth—his Word—and not have your mind cluttered with other influences that can not only harm you, but turn your heart from his will for you. (See also 1 Samuel 28:3-25; Isaiah 41:21-29; Isaiah 47:12-15; Micah 5:12-15.)

i think that when Lisa hit the little boy and his last name was Lopes she really thought something was goin to happen. And it is crazy because she died like 3 or 4 days later after the accident. i think we should appreciate life and everybody around us i didnt know Lisa wen through so much i heard so many rumors bout the accident i didnt know wat was true now i know, cuz someone told me Suge Knight was chasing her i am glad i watched the documentary cleared a lot of things up

It’s been interesting reading all of your comments. I too have been consumed by this whole “Lisa Lopes exposure.”… had about one sleepless night too many… Pretty captivating to say the least. makes you wonder… Even if it wasn’t premeditated it was definetely a manifestion in the working.

I find it compelling that she was wearing black that day. Did anyone take note of that? Remember, this is a woman who takes symbols very personally. She was always very bright and colorful, but on this day, she chose to wear BLACK and she shouted to the camera girl that they would be needing “the RED car” today. Makes you rest a finger on your chin and say hmmmmmm…

This should be a wake-up call to ALL fence straddlers. You can’t have two masters. You will hate the one and love the other. Get off the fence and serve the TRUE master today, Our Lord Jesus Christ!

  11. joblowhishuah

YOU HAVE GOT TO FIND THE ARTICLE below MOVING!!! Found it online written back in 2005…I’ll get the specifics (website) in a sec…

I think the previous commenter (Malchishuah) may be on to something.

    Here it is:

“WHEN WE WERE IN HONDURAS, me and Lisa had a chance to take a ride by ourselves,” says her brother, Ronald Lopes, who traveled there with Lisa, their sister Raina and a number of others, including a four member-singing group called Egypt that Lisa was mentoring. “She was telling me about a dream she had,” recalls her brother. “It was two lions that bit off two heads. And she told me that she thought something was going to happen on this trip. But she felt that it was going to be one of the girls in Egypt. Two of them are Leos and two of them are Geminis. She said she felt as though it’s inevitable that something was going to happen.”

Two weeks into the visit something did.

Lopes and other members of her entourage left the Usha Healing Village in a car driven by her assistant, Stephanie Patterson. That evening, according to those who were there, the stifling Honduran air was filled with foreboding. Ronald sensed it while watching vultures devour a horse’s carcass and a flock of birds making shrill, screaming noises from the trees. Lisa’s cousin, Jasmine Brodie, felt it in the very walls of the huts where they were staying. “The air out there was thick,” says Brodie. “We were staying where people who were sick went to get well. They would take the herbs to get better, and if they didn’t get better they died there. A few people had died in the room, and when I was in that very same room, I felt them. ‘Haunted’ is a pretty strong word. But I would say there were spirits in the room.” Brodie says she could feel their presence, not just in the huts, but in the air. It made her uncomfortable and afraid, and eventually caused her to make an early return to the States on April 13.

But not before the night of the first accident.

IT WAS DARK WHEN THE CAR DRIVEN BY Lopes’ assistant left the village. It’s commonplace for people to walk the roads that wind through Honduras, and it’s often difficult to see pedestrians. When a family crossed the road in front of their car, there was the thud of a little boy’s body slamming against the vehicle. Lopes’ party stopped and found the boy critically wounded. They loaded him into the car, and Lisa, ever the caretaker, cradled the dying boy’s bleeding head in her arms. Someone gave him mouth-to-mouth resuscitation as they rushed him to a nearby hospital. Once there, someone called back to the Usha Healing Village to speak with Ronald. “They said, ‘We hit a little boy,’” he says. “Then they told me he was on life support. And then the next day he died. It was a shock.”

The surname of the boy’s family–Lopez.

Lisa–exhibiting the generosity that her family says was both her blessing and her curse–paid for the boy’s medical care and funeral. And though her assistant was never charged with any wrongdoing, Lopes later compensated the family for their loss. She returned to Usha wearing the evidence of what she’d been through. “Lisa had blood all over her shirt when she came back,” says her cousin Jasmine Brodie. “She kept the boy’s shoes and brought them into the kitchen and sat them on a chair and took pictures of them with the video camera. Then she told us what happened.” The members of her entourage listened in shocked silence, not knowing the boy’s death would be a strange harbinger of things to come.

ON APRIL 25, JUST WEEKS AFTER BEING told of the fatal accident on a nearby Honduran road, Ronald Lopes found himself looking into the blood-stained, tear-streaked face of his sister Raina, who’d just been driven back to Usha from another accident scene. “I asked Raina if everybody was all right, and she said, ‘I don’t know,’” Ronald recalls. “I asked about Lisa, and she said, ‘I don’t know.’ When she said, ‘I don’t know,’ something came over me, and something told me that something really bad had happened.” As Ronald jumped into a waiting vehicle and was driven to the accident scene, he recalled Lisa’s strange behavior that day. He’d wondered why she had worn all white in the morning, then changed to all black in the evening, pacing before she’d gotten into the SUV. When he got out of the car and saw his sister’s body, he believed that Lisa–who was driving at the time of the accident–had known she was going to die. Once at the accident scene, he unleashed a profanity-laced tirade, jumping up and down and screaming before a sense of calm took hold. He reached down and cradled his sister in his arms, just as she had cradled the little boy weeks before. As he put his hands into her mouth in an effort to clear her airway, her body stiffened. He held her as they drove to a nearby hospital, knowing there was nothing more he could do. “One thing I’ll never forget is the feeling of having my sister’s arms go cold in my hands,” he says. “The hospital was like a 10-minute ride. And by the time we got to the hospital, her body was cold.”

i have not watched the documentary. but from reading all the comments, i feel as if i have watched it and seen left eyes life. I have been thinking for a day now. My cousin , Tiesha Sargeant(look her up on google) was murdered and shot excution style in flatbush, new york. her death reminded me of left eyes, although they are no similarities with the way they died. they died strong. they died not loving themselves enough.
and we’re all human beings, we never love ourselves enough. i guess these deaths just go to show that this is life.
this is what happens in life.
and honestly, i am even fearful when i write this. but i’ve always felt like i was going to die young. always. but when my time comes i know i will b remembered. it was today that i decided to get closer to god. i just want to live for him. i want to make the most out of this life. and wen my time comes, i know it’ll be the most beautiful thing to be in his arms and to feel the strongest love ever felt.
    RIP LEFT EYE

If you didn’t learn anything from Lisa Lopes, take one thing to heart immediately, what you think about and fear usually — not all the time because God’s grace is sufficient and he provides it to whom he will — but MOST of the time WILL manifest. I personally use to think (quite often) that one of my kids would die tragically. I have 2 year-old and 8-year-old girls. I would often worry that I would find my youngest cold when I reach for her in the morning. I had these same traumatizing thoughts about my oldest daughter when she was a baby. Pretty disturbing, right? Well, that’s Satan at his finest. Trust me! If he gets your mind… you’re GOT!

But it is through my studying of the scriptures coupled with God’s grace that I’ve grown to watch how I think.

Meditate on Phillipians 4:8 which reads:

“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are TRUE, whatsoever things are HONEST, whatsoever things are JUST, whatsoever things are PURE, whatsoever things are LOVELY, whatsoever things are of GOOD REPORT, if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”

The above verse is VITALLY important! Start guarding your mind today. Keep your mind stayed on God through His Son Christ Jesus who renew our minds daily. While there is still breath, PRAISE YE THE LORD!

  14. I saw the documentary while visiting San Diego and I must say she was a deep person that I know God is proud of. She reveal herself uncovered and not everyone can do that…not enough people can do that…she is at peace because she found herself..through all the up’s and down’s she saw who she was and who she became….

To her family I say you had a wonderful person who paved the way for many people to be real with themselves…we all need to be…

I CO-SIGN WITH Malchishuah!! After watching it many many times, MMMMMMMMM

  17. plove78

HEY JUDAH, Tell me more about Aaliyah and this witchcraft stuff she was doing, and I kinda knew that she was doin’ something cuz if you look back into her career she was always wearing black, and she did seem like she had a dark spirit.

  18. Smarti

Lisa was a beautiful person. She had the courage to do what most people would never dare, to seek out her demons and deal with them. Many people dont understand themselves, let alone what a spiritual person might see. She felt that a spirit hounted her, who are we to conclude that only a insane or metally ill person would say/feel that. We “the religious” regardless of what faith we follow all believe that their is something greater than the physical world. So those who say she was “crazy” because of her believe are just being hippocrates. Some people have spiritually evolved further than others. We seek them in church, temple, Mosque, or even a tent. Why do we pass judgement on what she felt and where she seeked out her spiritual peace?

Lisa, you have your peace. I pray for your spirit and your energy. I pray for those on earth left with your memory and for those who still are searching for what you found. I hope that you find in the after life all that you believed would be there for you.RIP

I watch the documentary and I was speechless. I felt like this is one of the most well-documented and intriguing documentary I ever saw. I feel like everyone has a destiny and you learn from the tribulations in your life. Only GOD can judge us. She was human and that’s what I like about her. She kept it real. It is not many people that would talk as openly about their life as she did. I doubt if any other person was in her shoes, they would be able to handle life any better. She finished her destiny here on earth and touched my heart. GOD bless her soul.

  20. Adella

After watching the show, I was haunted by the series of events that occurred prior to her death; the dream that she had, the strange bird that she saw, the boy dying with the same last name as hers and the spirits that she kept talking about that were chasing her. Lisa stated when the boy died, that they got the wrong person and that it was her they were after. Watching that really made me think about how many people are given visions and warnings prior to their demise. I think we all witnessed that. I’m happy that Lisa was at peace in Honduras, but feel sad that her life was filled with so much turmoil.

#423—You’re the stupid one, your ass can’t even spell…kilt=killed and that is just one error. Who the f*ck are you to say that something ran out on the road?! Was your ass there?! You don’t know what was going on in her mind. Everyone is stating their opinions on here. Some people swear that they know what happened, for example YOU! You need to just shut the f*uck up, with your uneducated ass.

  22. twistedbabydoll

To all of those who said 2Pac and Biggie predicted their deaths…uh…I would predict my death too if I was a thug involved in dangerous activities.

    Use common sense.

Some of you humor me. For real.

i like think as myself as one of lisa’s biggest fan. i can remember making sure that i was at home every time “the cut” came on on m tv, back in 98′. i really do miss her but i didn’t see the documentary yet. but i feel really disturbed about the mention of numerology and astrology. you see, you can’t really be a real God fearing, spiritual being by using these types of mediums that the word says that God has always frowned upon. by doing this you open up doorways to a spiritual relm that is not of God. you jade yourself. i hope her soul is at peace now.

OK…I KNOW YOU GUYS ARE NOT GONNA LIKE ME FOR SAY THIS. ALTHOUGHT I AM A HUGE,LEFT EYES AND TLC FAN. I FEEL LIKE THE ACCIDENT WAS SUICIDAL….HONESTLY, I BELIEVE ALL THE SIGN IN THE DOCUMENTARY WAS TRUE…DUE TO THAT IT DROVE HER TO A STATE OF MIND OF LETTING HERSELF GO. IF YOU GUYS PAID VERY CLOSE ATTENTION TOWARDS THE LAST FEW SECONDS OF THE TAPE,RIGHT BEFORE THE ACCIDENT…SHE LOOKS AT THE CAMERA…AND THE LOOK IN HER EYES I’D ALREADY NEW SHE WAS ABOUT TO EITHER SAY SOMETHING CRAZY OR DO SOMETHING CRAZY…THE GIRLS IN THE BACK ARE LOOKING AT SOME OBJECT AND ONE SAYS “WHATS INSIDE THE BOX”..THEN THE CRASH!!!…SHE LOOKED INTO THE CAMERA AS IF SHE WAS SAYING HER GOODBYE’S “GOOD BYE UNIVERSE.” OR “WATCH WHAT THE FUCK IM ABOUT TO DO,THEN YALL CAN CALL ME CRAZY” OR “THIS IS WHAT IT TAKES FOR YA’LL T LISTEN AND FEEL MY PAIN”…R.I.P LEFT EYE…IF ANYONE AGREES OR DISAGREE PLEASE SPEAK TO ME…BUT BEFORE YOU DO SO…IM ASKING TO PLEASE WATCH THAT PART OVER AGAIN FOR ME…THEN HIT ME UP…HAVE A GOOD DAY…JAH BLESS

I feel like I actually know Lisa and ever since I watched Last days of left eye I have been feeling really bad and I am really sad that she is gone. I just wish that someone else died instead of her bacause she was a good person that was just missunderstood. If I could go back in time to stop her death I would, but she might not listen to me because she said that she was not afraid to die and that she believes death is just a preperation of what is yet to come. She did say that she thought that she was going to die young because her and tupac were almost exactly alike. I don’t believe she was crazy or a nut-job. She always did so much for others and wherever her spirit may be I hope she is resting in peace. But still, I miss her so mush until its like I am obssed with TLC and her. Well, I guess they can’t call it TLC anymore they should call each other TC because unfortunately the L is gone and no matter what we do she is never coming back. And that is so sad becausese contributed so much and she had to suffer. No one knows for sure but if she did try to kill herself she had a good reason and she knew what she was doing. I just wish she knew how much people are still sobbing for her. Well atleast the spirit that was chasing her is gone and she is finally resting in peace. So good bye Lisa Marie” Left Eye” Lopes and may you and your soul rest in peace. We all love you and miss you.

Ya know wat cj i tink u r right. Once u tink about it if i was lisa and looking back on the life i had i wouold want 2 kill myself 2.I don’t blame lisa for anything but wat she did se feels she did for the best. All we can do is morn for her because no matter wat we do we couldn’t stop wat happened.

  28. Lisa was beautiful inside and out. Her eyes were dark but so penetrating and expressive, like black glowing marbles. This queen was seeking the Creator and peace, yet she was certainly fighting an imminent dark force hunting her. Despite her premonitions she was brave and hopeful, and I could never know the full dynamics of what she was going through. Only God knows, but I think anyone who has experienced emotional pain and negative psychic energies foretelling a tragic future, be it fantasy or fact, can understand the goliath struggle of the spirit to deny such negativity and have the faith to focus on a positve lifestyle and think of ways to help others. This documentary made me fall in love with the spirit of lisa, and I don’t have the answers, to the obvious questions people ask. I don’t judge her, but I do thank her for leaving this film, honor her memory, and feel that somehow by watching it my own spirt has been soothed and ministered to.

  29. Everyone keeps saying Lisa was confused & is probably in h*ll. Who are you to say that?? I think GOD was truly pleased with her & maybe the only way for her to have faith and get closer to god was through astrology and numerology, maybe that was his way of letting her get closer to him.Maybe she didn’t agree with christianity, not everyone can be christians & people kill me by saying that one religion is the right way.We KNOW NOTHING about what GOD wants. ALL HE WANTS US TO BE IS PEACEFUL BEINGS & TO FULFILL OUR MISSION ON EARTH. I think it would be really cruel for god to have Left Eye in hell because she was on a spiritual journey to find herself wtf?She was tortured enough on earth as it seems, it would seem crazy for her to burn in hell! She was a good person! Lisa was a good person and I personally believe as long as you are a good person and have faith and believe in & love god.. .you will be fine.. regardless of who you are.. whether gay, straight or black..whatever.

I am a spiritual person, HOWEVER I don’t really know about pertaining to a particular religion as of yet.It just seems like RELIGION SEPERATES people because of their views & actually makes alot of us isolated because of it. Left eye’s documentary opened my eyes up to things.. I feel like I need to go on a spiritual journey. EVERYONE here is messed up and poisoned by society! EVERYONE is brainwashed. ALL GOD WANTS US TO BE IS PEACEFUL beings and to believe in him.. Everyone is so quick to judge left eye… like all of our lives are 100% fine which is not!!!!! I think Left eye is in heaven and god is pleased with her. Left Eye had a different approach in getting closer with god.. just because it’s different doesn’t mean she in hell..

She killed herself. You can actually see her checking out the left side of the road and picking her moment. Very disturbing…

  32. I always loved Left Eye and always will. She was my favorite member of TLC. I saw the documentary several times and I think she knew she was gonna die. Just listen to the song she has. It’s called Losing You. It’s just weird how she just instantly died like that. RIP Left Eye.

  35. alright

i was a big fan of TLC…loved their music…i don’t think she did it on purpose..she was speeding you could clearly tell by the way she was zipping by the other cars..i think she lost control cause you could hear her trying to break. it was a great documentary that really showed what she went through in life and how she really was. i don’t think she was insane or crazy..you all can have your opinion. but i think it’s rude to call her insane/crazy considering you didn’t know her, all you know is what you read and what you saw in this documentary(which showed her real side not the out of control or crazy one of TLC). after watching this i personally think she would have been someone that would have been cool to sit down and have a conversation with. she was extremely talented. she is definitely missed and not just in the music world. RIP.

  36. Lily

It was crazy. I think that documentary touched a lot of people because it was so raw. It was her. And it so insightful- makes you think about your own life and the world you live in. I feel like her death was meant to happen, I’m not saying I like that it happened, I’m saying the way her life played out before her death was so bizzare! It was like it all lead up to a fate situation. She did what she was put on this earth to do. But I do agree that the look she gave the camera was weird right before the crash, but poor girl had no idea what was just about to happen to her life. I don’t think she did it on purpose b/c I don’t think she would’ve done it with that many people in the car- she didn’t seem like the girl to put other people lives in danger for her own purposes.

    Amazing Amazing woman.
    *peace*
