I really laughed when I first heard this song. Upon reading the title, I was wondering what could possibly be talked about in this song, what the lyrics could have possibly been. This Cornerboyz produced this song, which is a surprise to me, because I thought Timbaland, Danja and Polow Da Don were producing her album in its entirety. However, it’s too far before her release to even say that this will even appear on the album. But either way, check Keri Hilson on MySpace.

Justin Timberlake’s “Summer Love” is lighting up iTunes these days, I didn’t even realize that he was releasing it as a single. But I guess it would make sense to release right at the beginning of, you guessed it, summer! “Summer Love” was always one of my favorite songs from JT’s “FutureSex/LoveSounds,” and I’ll sure say one thing. He did a good job of making this album stretch.

Cassie really pulled a disappearing act on us. Not that anybody cared, but it was just absolutely laughable that this girl had the #1 single in the country for so long (with no display of any sort of vocal ability), with so much hype surrounding her debut album, and no grind time, then she just disappeared after all the backlash about her horrid live performances. I’m sure everyone remembers those. But Cassie has uploaded a brand new track to her MySpace page (I refuse to link it – she gets far too many hits), which sounds like leftovers from the first album.

Brooke Valetine is stuck, guys. Sorry. Her album, “Physical Education” was supposed to come out sometime last year, with the failed single “D-Girl,” with fellow Texan, Pimp C. The song didn’t get a great response, and all the material that’s leaked from the album so far has been less than stellar. I’m not sure what Brooke is going to do with thie project. It just seems like she’s not in a good place creatively or with her label. All this partying like a rock star and snapping is getting old. Rapidly.

Man I’ve always loved Brooke Valentine….I just don’t understand why she’s slept on as an ARTIST. She can sing, has that great people personality…but for some reason..is just not being PROMOTED like she needs to be. And what i think it is it that damn label she’s on. Which is why Janet left as well….no PROMO. I’ve liked all the songs I’ve heard so far though.
I have to say that R&B has lost it’s valor of it’s true essence that once was music! The problem is that artist are not making music to make music anymore! I see Cassie making an attempt to “sing” on this one. The record will definitely get airplay on radio and clubs, but I just don’t think she’ll get another chance at stardom. Her performance f— ups during the support of her debut have tarnished her career forever. She can’t sing…and I don’t know about the rest of ya’ll, but I thought that was a component of being an “artist” and releasing albums. We all know why Ryan is invested in pushing her and things like this make it hard for truly talented artists to be recognized.

Ok, Cassie doesnt have a strong voice. But its airy and it floats over hooks and you can just vibe to it. She knows she cant stand next to lauryn hill or beyonce, but it works for her. Sade (one of my favorite artists) doesnt have strong vocals, but her voice is airy and it floats too. Whatever works and Im betting this song will blow up and be #1. Not everyone can sing in the game, but its not all about the voice. Its the whole package, and the powers that be packaged her right.
