This song has really grown on me for some reason, without even a video. Chris Brown to me has such a good spirit and energy. I think that he is really a talented young man and he just seems extremely genuine about doing what it is he does. Honestly, I kind of feel like he needs to be shielded from the industry so he doesn’t get tainted, haha. But anyway, the remix isn’t much different from the original version of the song, besides a rap. I’m eager to see what else Chris Brown is bringing on this album – strangely, moreso than Usher… hmmm…

Man! I was super duper excited when I heard this on the radio. I immediately was on the hunt for it. First of all, I love the song “Last Night,” secondly, with the remix you sampled one of my all time favorite Prince songs with Sheila E., “Erotic City?” Are you serious? And then you has the nerve to put Lil’ Kim on the track? I’m sorry but when I heard this, it was a wrap on society. I love it.

So I know that Jennifer Hudson is America’s sweetheart… the People’s Champ, all of that. But in all honesty, if this is what she’s bringing to the people, if this is what she’s been at the drawing board working on, and if this is even what she’s thinking about releasing on her album, she needs to seriously re-evaluate. Honestly, the song wouldn’t even really be that bad if she just took Papoose off of it. He sounds absolutely ridiculous. I don’t know, this is just not what I was expecting. It’s all over the place.

Now Chili… at this point in your career, you don’t need to be making Ciara leftovers. There has to be something else for you to do. In a recent interview, Akon was saying how he’d signed Chili to his Konvict Music label and that she is about to set the standard for all female R&B singers. And this is supposed to be a threat? Chili needs to seriously mature her sound a little bit and her subject matters. She’s a grown woman and this music is sounding like highschool.
I honestly don’t think the “video killed the radio star” concept really applies anymore. I mean who watches videos anymore? And those who do, aren’t old enough to buy albums or don’t have jobs/money to do so. The ones who can help push our favorite artists to the top are Us. The working age consumers. Just because someone’s voting for their favorite video on 106, doesn’t mean they’re going out to the stores & buying the album.
I think websites like these are VERY helpful in creating a buzz for artists, more so than music videos. I’m so out of the loop when it comes to videos & radio, but websites like this & PJ Butta keep me up on the music of today.
I agree with Selina and Chante on Jennnifer Hudson’s image she does have a more mature image.. older people enjoy listening to Jennfier more than the yourger demograph Alicia Keys and John Legend will be here in the indusrty longer than you think because not only is there music played on pop radio but on Jazz/contemporary stations which is directed to the older audiences..old people are more faithful fans because us young folks are too fickle..lol..but anyways..I couldn’t hear th rest of the Jennifer song because it only gave me a 9 second snippet.:-(

If you really want to know #75, just because someone adds a rap to an old song, doesn’t make the song new. Some of these people are asking, why is she and Clive putting out this kind of music? In actuality, it had nothing to do with her or Clive! Papoose liked the track, so he decided to rap about some of the recent affairs that have been going on in the past weeks (that’s all)! You can call it a remix, but its definitely not new! It won’t be on anyone’s album or mixtape (trust me)!

Just co-signing that the Jennifer Hudson song is OLD. The people she did it with must have dusted it off and added Papoose 3 years later, unbeknownst to Jennifer. It will not be on the album…..just take it as a freebie track with lots of dust on it. Im not sure why they would take an old track and add a rap from a somewhat famous rap artist and leak it to the internet….no one knows who did the song so its not like they are getting notoriaty from it….wierd…anyway, OLD!

I listened to Chili’s track and I’ve got to say, it sounds a little old school TLC type stuff. Where do you think Ciara got some of this inspiration? It wasn’t just Janet (although Janet influenced some TLC stuff).
