Tank – Come Back to Me (full) – download
If this was the direction in which Tank’s album was going to go, I would have suggested that this song be placed on the album. But Tank’s new album, “Sex, Love & Pain,” which, according to SoundScan and billboard.com debuted at #2 it’s first week (and #1 on the R&B/Hip Hop Album charts), is very ballad-heavy, besides the 2-year-old “I Like Them Girls,” produced by Timbaland, which appears at the end of the album as a bonus track. I like this track, but I can definitely see why it was left off the album. I think Tank needs to release another album soon.

Mario has got a voice on him. And I’m glad that this snippet has leaked, because besides “Go!” (produced by The Neptunes) and “Crying Out For Me” (produced by Polow Da Don), I haven’t been impressed with much from the album, especially the new single, “How Do I Breathe.” This snippet, reportedly produced by The Underdogs, who have been sitting pretty since producing the Dreamgirls soundtrack, virtually in its entirety, is a good look for Mario. I’m hoping that this new album can erase the bad taste the last one left in my mouth.

While out of town on vacation, I heard this song on the radio, and absolutely cringed. I don’t wish bad fortune on anyone, but I thought for sure that Cherish wasn’t going to have a second album and would remain just a two-hit wonder (surprisingly their title track song, “Unappreciatied” was very successful on radio). I guess the reason this song bothers me so much is it’s so typical Atlanta and typical Cherish. It’s radio friendly, but it just doesn’t do anything for me. I really think they need to go back to the drawing board if they want to stick around much longer.

The more I listen to Rihanna’s new album, “Good Girl Gone Bad,” (due out next week, on June 5th) strangely, the more I like it. “Rehab,” which has been getting a lot of love online is one of my favorite songs. Admittedly, Rihanna is not a vocalist, but the way her voice rides this song doesn’t bother me at all. I can appreciate what Rihanna is trying to get accomplished with this album. She doesn’t want to be pigeon-holed. And I think she’s doing a pretty good job of not sticking in anybody’s box.
To my surprise, the Cherish song isnt half that bad…I fux wit it. Everything else is good as well. Keep up the good work B!

Personally, I don’t think Rhianna is holding the reins (did I spell that right?) on her career right now. I just find it hard to believe that in between her last tour and album, she had time to really sit down and craft out this album herself. With that said, she does have a machine behind her and it’s working so good on her for that. I just hope she stays on her MUSICAL grind for now and not be poppin up all in my TV commercials, movies, remixes, perfumes, cell phones, and cereal boxes.
As far as Cherish, they excelled at their ballads b/c of their harmonies. I was not checkin for Cherish until I heard “Whenever” (if you haven’t heard that check it). This song does not make the cut.

But I will say. I don’t think Tank needs to release another album just yet. His latest is pretty solid, ride around my town and EVERYONE is blasting “I Hate You” from their speakers. I haven’t found myself skipping anything yet. No denying that this man can sang.

Cherish had some hot songs on the last album but they never bring the whole package together. If the lyrics are hot the beat is shot and vice versa. But I still like that song Miss P. When are they gonna switch they style up? They style is like the love child of Mother Goose and Snap Music. It’s cool once but come harder the second time.

I love everything Tank does, whether it’s ballads or up-tempo tunes. This is not a bad song. I got my hands on another song that, evidently, didn’t make it to the album as well, called I Did It; it’s brilliant.

It is not so much that Rihanna does not want to be “pigeonholed.” It is that she has only had marginal success in the past, so she is trying to find the right recipe. This song is an indication she needs to head back to the kitchen and figure something else out.
I cannot believe Cherish has another album. If anyone similar should get another album it should be 702- not Cherish.

I have to say that Tank’s album is near perfect as can be. All the songs are well designed, deep, great lyrics, vocals immaculate, concepts ridiculous.
The only 1/2 star from perfect is that he does these intros, interludes, outros, etc. to like almost every song but they aren’t a separate track…they are a part of the song (or the one before/after). So, this can be aggravating when wanting to listen to a CD of music only. However, a couple of them are real interludes and they sound great (like Faith and Carl and 112 do!).

People sleep on Cherish. Those girls can sing- all of them. I saw them at a show at my college last year and they killed it. I think there album was good to especially “Whenever” and “Show & Tell”. I would buy there new album. They do need a stylist though.

I am actually ashmed to say that the only joint on the music review that has any hope is Rihanna….I’ve always said that she sings through her nasal phyrhanx, but I guess Jay has been working on her vocal chops. She is starting to sing less through her nose and using her diaphram, thus, she is actually starting to sound like a real singer? Umberella remix with Lil Mama, is hot as well. The rest is some damn trash, even said to say Tank’s ish, basically is “tanked” anyway. Shame, I was waiting on him to come through with some real joints.
