Personally, I don’t think Rhianna is holding the reins (did I spell that right?) on her career right now. I just find it hard to believe that in between her last tour and album, she had time to really sit down and craft out this album herself. With that said, she does have a machine behind her and it’s working so good on her for that. I just hope she stays on her MUSICAL grind for now and not be poppin up all in my TV commercials, movies, remixes, perfumes, cell phones, and cereal boxes.

As far as Cherish, they excelled at their ballads b/c of their harmonies. I was not checkin for Cherish until I heard “Whenever” (if you haven’t heard that check it). This song does not make the cut.

I have to say that Tank’s album is near perfect as can be. All the songs are well designed, deep, great lyrics, vocals immaculate, concepts ridiculous.

The only 1/2 star from perfect is that he does these intros, interludes, outros, etc. to like almost every song but they aren’t a separate track…they are a part of the song (or the one before/after). So, this can be aggravating when wanting to listen to a CD of music only. However, a couple of them are real interludes and they sound great (like Faith and Carl and 112 do!).

Cherish needs to get away from that ATL sound if they want to be taken seriously. Their first album is good, but too much crunk and snap on it. Try other avenues of music. Mix it up with some rock, soul, and pop. A lot of artists do that.

Mario is the artist to watch because he’s straight rocking it; up & down, in & out; he’s putting it down the right way. He has some passionate fire burning on it and no one can touch it. Rihanna can’t sing.. she can carry a key. She sounds like kereoke night everytime she performs live. When her cuteness and novelty have simmered, poeple are going to start focusing on the real issue: the lack of a voice and stage performance that can move people. A lot of people here just seem to be going with the flow. Whatever some “smart” person says is talent all of the parrots eat it up. Yes she might be successful now, but you see them one, you see them all “wannabes” who sell a few albums and in time before you know it disappear.
