i love the majority of the posts who actully saw that Kanye wanted the video stripped bare bones and wanted the focus on him and his lyrics and the content of his meaning. I mean he used a contach an 80′s lamborghini and not a gallardo or murcielago both 2007 models, does anybody understand that? He can afford all the latests shit and stripped himself bare. Wicked! Nice to know what the games been missing. This album is going to be a lot more revealing than we originally thought. Please listen to his lyrics carefully.

I thought it was just me who saw the artsy-fartsy quality in the video. More than anything else, it helped me realize what he was talking about minus all the flash and flare considering I didn’t like the song before the video. I like it now, song’s not so bad.
And for the record, he only sampled Jeezy. Amy Winehouse’s voice was just made to SOUND LIKE a sample. Even that part I liked despite the fact he didn’t give her the opportunity to do more, but it’s not like we don’t already know she’s tough.

I have to co-sign with #40 even though I won’t be as blunt. On one hand, people cry when rappers use the same formula of money, cars, clothes and hoes to produce successful singles and videos. Then when a rapper puts the emphasis on content in term of their lyrics, and symbolism within their video, you call it boring?
The reason why rap is struggling with a identity crisis now is because there is no diversity to the art from and the artists are failing to grow up with their core fans. I can love and appreciate “Buy U A Drank” and “Can’t Tell Me Nothing.” Sometimes I want to simply be entertained, and sometimes I want to be infotained. If hip hop is to survive another 30 years then we, the fans, have to encourage, appreciate and support diversity within it. I hope we’re not some monolithic culture like the Republican party.
