I’m not sure what the story is on this, but the internet is swarming about this “scandal.” Apparently, the ShoNuff-signed R&B group Nephu (myspace.com/nephumusic) recorded the new R. Kelly & Usher single “Same Girl” before the two R&B male sensations, and R. Kelly and Usher pulled a Beyonce, recorded the song, changed it up a little bit and released it. I don’t like the song anymore or any less, I just can’t believe that they really recorded this song, rumoredly without permission. That’s real dirty. More on this story later as more news comes out…

she also changed some of the lyrics which violated the agreement as well as shooting and changing the title..it was also stated that she didn’t wait for clearance and put it on her album anyways..so therefore she stole the song..if she had waited then technically it was legal for her to remake the song..and in addition to her not changing the song title and shooting a video which Sony should’ve known that as well as Beyonce she would’ve been straight and no one would be having this debate Beyonce has to be careful as well as many other artist;)

Of course, the Usher and Kelly version sounds better. However, Nephu obviously had the song originally (i.e. production by Jazzy Phe – Sho Nuff). They must have sold it to kelly or kells originally wrote it. Anywayz, it’s a good song…good single for radio.

Let’s get things straight. R. Kelly wrote Imma Flirt and the Same Girl song, so he could do whatever the hell he wants with both of them! Neph-who just demoed the song and R.Kelly remixed the Bow Wow’s version after the label didn’t want Bow Wow to put it out as a single.

I guess we have to see if the song was actually a demo recording or if it was actually written and sold to them to be released on an album. If it was a demo they cannot lay claim to it.

I don’t like the song and while I am surprised at Usher for being on that song after producing such a great album like Confessions, I am not as surprised about R. Kelly. I used to hold him in high regards musically however, lately I feel as though he has either lost his passion or creativity or maybe both. For some reason his new songs seem to have the same melody, themes and simple lyrics. For me it doesn’t matter who actually sings the song because it is weak and forgettable.

The song to me sounds like 16 year old wrote it. After the whole “Hey Ush, what up dawg” line I was too through. Usher is damn near 30 and R.kelly is pushing…what…50? Juvenile lyrics plus mediocre production = bad song.

I believe the part about them stealing this song but it’s kind of silly to me. As great of a songwriter as Kells is, why did he have to steal someone elses track? I’ve heard the song and I like it but I don’t think its so great that these two, of all people needed to take it without handling it properly. I like the R Kelly and the Usher version. I just like their voices on it. No matter what ya’ll say about Kelly he still has been making hits since 1990. So say what you want. i am sure alot of ya’ll have made love to an R. kelly CD. Yes he is a child molester but you still can’t knock the man’s talent.
