I was dissapointed in the show over all & I loved how ciara sat next to 50 making sure those rumors about them being with eachother are still being talked about LOL!!

I ain’t tryin to hate, but didn’t Bey already have a performance from the SAME album last year? BET stay ridin’ her! It was a nice performance, seems live I’ve seen it somewhere before though.

The 2 Jennifer’s: Great performance b/c I wasn’t expecting it.

Monique’s entrance: I knew Mo was gonna bring it again! She & the dancers were working it!

T.I.: Good Performance. He really knows how to work a crowd.

Neyo: Nice, but kind of boring until Fab came out. Wait….it was STILL boring, but I LOVE both songs.

Diddy, Keyshia Cole, Kim: I like this song even though it’s been remixed to death. Keyshia Cole looked great! Kim acted like she was on medication.

Beyonce, Kelly, Michelle & Solange: GREAT!!! The performance was HOTTTT! It was great to see them all together again. B killed it though. Kelly didn’t sound too great & I could barely hear her. She doesn’t have a strong voice, but she looked wonderful.

Robin Thicke: I LOVE him, but if he sings that song 1 MORE TIME….he has MUCH better songs on the CD!

Gerald Levert Tribute: Very moving. Beautiful performance.

50: I was embarrassed for him. I didn’t even know WHAT was going on at first with all that unnecessary cursing & pacing.

Diana Ross: She is truly a legend. Nice performance by the group. Great to see Badu again too.

Don Cheadle: Great for him. He deserves it.

James Brown Tribute: Well done! Great ending to a Great show!

If you do a search on Jennifer Holliday on YouTube, there are many videos that will show her singing the song just that way in actual performance on Broadway.

Other than that, all the performance reviews were on point.

Ok ok…had a momentary lapse into Beyonce hate. It’s over. I just love me some Kylie Minogue and that’s the LAST person you would expect Beyonce to bite. They ain’t got jack shit in common (well, besides this performance now)! LOL

Anyway, this is also probably a big deal because the Awards themselves were boring as usual. Damn, Monique barely saved that mess. And will BET PLEASE upgrade their cameras??? I’m tired of looking at TV on my crisp, clear HD TV and then turning to BET and feeling like I’m watching TV on my grandma’s 1982 Sanyo tv in the garage.

And I really wasn’t feeling Ciara’s performance. She needs to pick singing or dancing and stick with one in the performance, because she can’t do both. And I have to say, tonight was the first time I’ve seen Ciara and couldn’t deny that she does look a bit like a dude.

I have to agree, I was disappointed in 50. Not only did it seem like he wasn’t even trying to put on a good performance but all the swearing was unnecessary. He knew it was a live show. These entertainers don’t realize they mess things up for the viewers at home cuz they’re gonna have to chop up the performance bleeping out your swears AND who knows what kind of trouble BET gets into for it. One of these days they’re gonna stop doing the show live if ppl continue to do stuff like that. That’s part of the fun knowing it’s live, seeing what’s really happening rather than what they just wanna show us!

Mo nique killed it as always but I wish she did a song by another artist. She did a Beyonce song last year, she shoulda picked something my Ciara or another female singer, that would have been nice, but regardless she was still on point!

i loved kelly’s performance! the girl made me think i was lesbo when she openned that white girl’s legs and stepped in between them. hotttest thing of the night!!!!!! the only thing that could have made it untoppable was the vocals, but hey bee has that on lock!

I thought the overall show was hot!
My favorite part of the night was Monique’s big entrance, her dancers were simply fierce! You see how they did the splits and how they held one leg up to their heads while standing! Hot! Monique looked beautiful.

I loved the BET awards last night. And its a shame that so many of you black people are coming in and being absolultly negative about the whole affair. BET awards gave us some very memorable, heartfelt, and on the edge of your seat performances. Not to mention a very well done show. Clearly many people in America think the award show is good, becuz its the top rated award show on CABLE. Now I dont know the backgrounds of the majority of you black or other race people coming in and saying how wack you thought it was. But I think you need to take a look at your own high standards ass and ask if you could have done a better job producing, performing, or executing on such a large occasion. I SERIOUSLY DOUBT IT…

Monique likes Beyonce. And she likes her alot. So what its her choice to like any female artist she so chooeses. And Beyonce just happens to be the one she enjoys the most. So get over it. If you were hosting the show. Which your clearly not. You could open with whatever rendition of who evers songs or performance. But since your home on your couch being a hater. I missed the Jennifer Hudson/Jennifer Holiday performance. But I know that BET has been the only award show to showcase the original effie white. I dont care what you say. That will forever be her role. And I commend BET for letting her get her shine, instead of looking over her like everyone else did. Its little things like this that make me love BET.

The Gerald Levert Tribute was by far my favorite part of the night. And a testament to the good that BET does in our community. I dont think any other show tributed Gereld Levert who is a legend in his own right. The way that BET did. And I doubt any other network could have. From his father, to Gladys, to the BET award top performance champ Yolanda King to the teary eyed Patti Labelle that tribute was amazing. And a great song choice at that. Patti kept going into them high octaves lol drowning out everyone else. But she can do that cuz she a diva and got the voice of a champion!!!! U go girl. RIP Gerald!

I loved the BET awards this year! From start to finish!

I thought the show was good. The Jennifers were good. But I didn’t like JHuds performance dress. Not flattering at all.
Monique was good.
Beyonce killed it. Like her or not she puts on a good performance. When all 4 girls were on stage my eyes just gravitated to her. (No Homo LOL)
Ciara was fire. I got to give it up to her.
Erykah was great,Chaka and Stevie not so much on the Diana tribute.
The Gerald Levert tribute was soo moving. Ms. Patti shut it down as usual.
Lil Kim need to stop. Keisha Cole sounded good. Everybody else was whatever.

I think this was the best BET award show because it was CONSISTANT throughout. Previous award shows had major highlights( ie; Usher in ‘04, michael&james in ‘03, ect) but it always seems like the honorees part makes the show very boring.
This year wasn’t dreadful so I appreciated that. Here was my thought on the night:

I had my bids on cici……………and she DELIVERED!!!!!!!! That’s my gurllllllll!!!!!!! And she looked sooooooooo gorgeous!!!!!! My friends and I were watching and we definately agreed that cici had the best performance of the night by far! Just ask nelly, LL, Chris Brown and even Bow wow and just about everyone in the isle while she was dropping it! GREAT performer!

Bey’s performance was HOT as hell, even though I didn’t feel her energy, I still know she worked it out!

Kelly SURPRISED me! I didn’t know she had it in her! Go kelly! LOL, it definately made me anxious for the album.

I feel like Neyo always have SAFE performances. He never comes out and outdo anything. Always the same, and it’s getting boring.

50 Cent was lamer than lameville. And i see he left afterwards LOL. Was that the reason why cici was backstage the whole time?? Whatever, even diddy had more claps than him.

Speaking of Diddy, he DID the damn thing! I can’t stand Keyshia’s hoodrat self, but she ended their performance nicely.

The crowd sucked though. Less than half of them were hyped. Bey, Kelly and especially ciara recieve alot of claps and standing ovations after their performace.

I was so disappointed this year! It was so much better last year. Even though it seemed like Beyonce didn’t seem like she was at her best last night, she was still the best. Keyshia, Diddy, and Lil Kim were ok. Kim looked a mess, as usual, and I didn’t like the choreography or the lip syncing, but Keyshia did really good. Jennifer Hudson and Jennifer Holiday did good. I didn’t like T.I., Ne-Yo, Robin Thicke, 50 Cent, or Ciara. LOVED Mo’Nique’s performance! I loved the Gerald Levert, Diana Ross (even though Alicia Keys should have sung in it), and especially the James Brown tributes.

I enjoyed the show but at the end when the gave Beyonce the R/B award for BDay over Breakthrough it completely turned me off. There is no way in hell that was better than Breakthrough. No justice No peace

This year’s award show was like a big ass concert. No one paid any attention really to the awards.

My fave performances were of course Fabo w/ Neyo. *I knew he was coming out. I was yelling*, Bee w/ Kelly, Michelle, and Solo and my girl Cici with the gorgeous hair cut. The Gerald Levert tribute had me in tears the minute I heard his daddy sing. That was def one of the best moments I’ve seen on TV.

Okay, and 50 cent was supposed to be like the MAIN EVENT but he sucked major ass. His mic wasn’t even working and then he had the nerve to be cussing like that ish wasn’t live. Dumbass. Then at the end he had to say something about vitamin water….Come on now. The lil girl who the camera was on after that was funny cuz she couldn’t believe it either.

I was so mad because I rushed home from school to see Monique’s “grand” entrance. She really disappointed me with the same Beyonce theme she did in 2004. She should have came out with the Flavor of Love girls and pop locked and dropped it or walked it out or something other than that same old Beyonce shit. I thought that everyone’s performance was so-so but the performances that stood out was Ciara and the DC reunion performance. T.I. is my man but his performance was not that good. I hate when he raps too hard because you can’t understand a damn thang he is saying. And at least everyone else brought some props or some dancers he just came out there with a weak ass hype man. I was expecting so much more from him. When his performance was over I was like “that’s it?” Ciara definetly killed it though and blew everyone else out the water. She is like the new Janet Jackson for real. She is an excellent performer and it doesn’t even matter that she can’t sing with moves like that who’s really listening? I hope next year’s show is a little bit better because it was just an average award show. It hasn’t really been good since Will and Jada hosted it. Now that show was flawless! Maybe they should bring them back next year.

When she said it, they flashed to many of them in the crowd and they had that stiff smile on their face as if to say, “I’m too stupid to understand that she’s talking about me”. Lol. Oh yeah, I forgot Patti’s dress, even though is should be hard to!! lol. I hated it and really because I’m so used to Patti looking fly. The Jennifer Holliday and Jennifer Hudson performance was a MESS to me. I’ve heard and seen Jennifer Holliday sing the song in her earlier days, and it was a lot better than the crap that they tossed together last night. She was hollering, not singing, and her facial movements weren’t a good look. Jennifer Hudson was just there.

I didn’t really watch the TI and Robin Thicke performances. Robin usually does pretty good thought. I know he was amazing on Oprah.

I really liked the Beyonce/Kelly performance. I was kinda hoping her bra thing wouldn’t fall off and luckily it didn’t. But why was Michelle in the back messing up the choreography as usual. Kelly was really cute, but I think her mic was messed up…and honestly her vocals aren’t that strong either.

Ciara did pretty well dance wise. It sounded like she was talking over the track to me though. Oh well, I still love her the most!!

Last but not least but I think this is like my all time fave BET moment. Jennifer Hudson and Jennifer Holiday coming together, live and singing “And I am telling you….I was speechless!!! That was an incredible performance I had goose bumps. It has been an fabolous year for Jennifer and I’m so proud of her….I betcha B was jealous!!!!! lol

The show was better than last year’s….but that’s not saying too much because the show last year sucked.

J Hud and J Hol did their thing. But the head movements that J Hol kept making was becoming a bit scary. Overall they did great, BUT I think BET should’ve picked someone who was a bit more “hype” to open the show. Perhaps Ciara.

Monique’s intro was okay. It was already done previously, so it wasn’t all that great. Just watching history repeat itself. I liked when she told LL to take her shoe off though. That was classic. But overall she did a great job hosting the show….wayyyy better than Damn Wayan’s idiot ass did last year.

T.I. was good, but that was expected since he is always hype everytime I se him perform. I was dying when he skipped over Yayo’s ass when he held his hand up to get a “high-five” He looked passed him as if yayo had shit on his hands lol.

NE-YO was blah….from “Because of You” to “U Make Me Better” the performance wasn’t really worth watching. Nothing memorable about it AT ALL.

Why was Diddy even part of the performance with his lip synching ass? I agree with Tianna…it doesn’t even take much effort to sing his verses and he couldn’t even do it? He lost major points. Keyshia killed it, even though it was evident that she could barely walk in her shoes. And I couldn’t hear a damn thing Kim was saying, but she was madd hype to be back on stage lol.

Beyonce and Kelly ripped it. Their performance was my favorite part of the show hands down. Beyonce always delivers on the vocals and dancing, so none of that was a surprise. But my girl Kelly, even though I could hardly hear her voice (since I love her I’ll blame it on the sound system) she killed it booty poppin all over the place. And I loved the ending, michele and solange did their thing too.

Robin Thicke wasn’t even worth watching…I used his performance time to go and find something to eat.

The Gerald Levert Tribute was great, it brought a tear to my eye. But ummm did Patti think she was going to the Oscar’s??? That dress was a bit tooooo much for the BET Awards.

Diana Ross tribute was good, and she looked fab as usual. That woman has earned the “diva” title, and she wears it well. I loved the part of her speech where she spoke about having class.

Ciara did a good job…but her performance wasn’t as good as I anticipated. Something was missing…but I did enjoy when she popped that booty right next to Bow….that shit was priceless. And I think she needs to get over the whole top 25 dancers thing though. She know’s that she is capable of tearing up the dance floor…she doesn’t need BET to validate that.

This year was defintely an upgrade from last year. But I enjoyed Mo’Nique’s and the “big girl” dancers rountine from 2005- much better.

The show was aaaight. For some reason it doesnt seem like they outdid themselves from the previous years shows. I like get be bodied, but I think the chorepography she does for it takes away from the feel of the song. Kelly looked ridicoulously fly. Her body is sic, but her vocals were NOT on the money. Always like to see Eve, but wish she would have worn something more vibrant.

My favorite part was the Destiny’s Child/Solange Reunion. I thought that was pretty hot, even though I wish Kelly would have had her own set. It was slick, well put together and well thought out. The worse performance was prolly 50 Cent or Neyo. First off I just want to say that I’ve been watching the BET awards every year and they have been the best (hands down)!! But this year I must say there were several DISSAPOINTMENTS!!! The way they blew this whole show up had everyone tuned in as expected but I must say I was turned off once I knew the show evolved around Miss Knowles!! I love my girl Mo’Nique but if you really want to challenge yourself try busting a move by the BEST DANCER ALIVE Miss Ciara.!! This show started off on a wonderful note…even the pre-show was popping!! But the show became very dry early on…me and friends found ourselves placing the TV on mute several times…and I’ve NEVER had to nor wanted to do that during the BET awards. This is something I look forward to all year. The award winners were okay but seriously have people stopped listening to the words and remembering what REAL MUSIC is and sounds like…? Since when do artist get nominated twice in one category?!? That’s doing a bit much I think…there’s no hope for our other artist!! The performances just seemed to be laid back and tired some!! This years BET awards were surprisingly good. I didn’t expect it to be as good as last years awards but it was pretty close.
~ J. Hud and Ms. Holiday’s performance was good but I expected so much more out of the both of them. It sounded like something they just threw together.
~Mo’Nique’s entrance was as memorable as always….she never fails to represent for the big girls. But when will she find another artist to imitate? It was cute the first time she did Beyonce but now it’s time to either do her own thing or find another artist to imitate.
~T.I. had a good performance but he’s starting to get boring as an artist. His music is slacking these days.
~Michael Jackson….uh….I mean Ne-yo was whomp whomp. I would’ve preferred MJ instead of a horrible imitation….but Fab did his thing!

Why are people saying Ciara could have done more singing. Did you see how hard that child was dancing?!?! There is no way in the world she could do all that dancing and sing every word. Furthermore, she wasn’t singing a ballad, it’s not much she can do with the song vocally, period. It’s not that type of song. And for the life of me…Why are people questioning why people are not talking about things that have already been said a million times. Ciara and Ne-yo are called out for their similarities to Janet and Michael. Let it go already.

Ciara murdered her performance! I absouletly loved it. Nobody is seeing her in the dance department. That’s what you call stage presence.

Ciara has said from day one has stated that Janet is somebody that she grew up watching, but her main inspiration is Michael Jackson. I guess since she is female, Janet has to be her main idol. Michael and Janet were dressed alike in scream, so why is she just compared to Janet? The did not have n o football leather outfits on, or a bra. the end of Ciara’s performance was hot. Beyonce’s performance was whack as hell and I hate that damn song. Erykah Badu’s booty was damn BIG when she turned around. T.I. tore up the stage (BEST PERFORMANCE OF THE NIGHT). Jennifer Hudson’s gut (stomach) was so big. They could have gave her a waist trimmer or gurdle (however you spell it). Jennifer Holiday had on a fucked up as wig that looked like it had been shifted. EVE WAS SO WASHED OUT. Keisha Cole performed good and looked real nice. Lil’ KIM was looking FAT AND NASTY. HER WAIST WAS SO BIG. SHE LOOKED IN NEED OF A PERSONAL TRAINER REAL BAD. SHE LOOKED HORRIBLE. She washed up too. Poor 50 cent. Rhianna looked like a man as usual with her sunflower seed tits.
