Chrisette Michele seemingly popped up out of nowhere – being on two big singles for, who some would call the greatest rappers in the game right now, but I’ve heard this girl’s name for a while. Her album takes me back to the ’90′s, it’s so very relaxing to just sit and listen. And though I can’t say that I’m completely into the material on the album, it is nicely produced and well put together. “I Am” (released today) was the perfect title. Chrisette’s voice is immaculate – it just floats and rides on every single melody. I’m pretty much sold on her. Her sound is different, her material is appropriate for her voice, and anything that I can just vibe and groove to without doing this most always does it for me. I’m simply in love with the fact that she’s not your typical “neo-soul” (whatever that means) artist.

A lot of folks were a little afraid of the what Kelly Rowland’s fate would be on Music World, because she is still under the management of ex-bandmate and bestfriend Beyonce’s tyrranical father. But finally it seems like we’re getting some results. Due out July 3rd, after several (and that’s an understatement) pushbacks, Kelly’s new album, “Miss Kelly” is completely a departure from her solo debut, “Simply Deep.” Kelly returns to her R&B roots, giving fans an album that’s heavy with mid-tempo R&B tracks, which, for the most part, make great background music. Although I think that “Miss Kelly” is a good return to a solo career and is a pretty well put together album, the material doesn’t quite have the power to garner the overall success that I think was expecting.

wow kelly’s album sounds really bad. i just think she has no creative side to her and when other ppl aren’t looking out for u/have no creative ideas for you, you have to be able to look out for yourself but she can’t do that it seems

I’m loving Chrisette’s album. Her voice is so refreshing. I’m going to pick her album up this weekend.
As for Kelly, not feeling the album. Like others said, there is nothing about her that stand out. She is boring.

I love Chrisette’s CD. Listening to it the first time though I was only have feeling it but by the time the CD started over again I was into it. She has a very unique voice.
wow alot of you guys are hating on kelly!………….personally i like her songs but with all the hate everybody is showing im worried about how her album is gonna do. my only issue with her is that i feel she has so much potential yet something is holding her back, she needs to dig a lil deeper on the next album and maybe use some different producers like pharell or darkchild and maybe hit up beyonce for some vocal production. she definitely needs new management simply becuase of the fact that her album got pushed back like five times and beyonce should stand up for her girl once in a while, she didnt get to the top by herself !
I am maaad at her outfit on the album promo. Is it actually her album cover? They should have told her not to wear her bed sheets before the photo shoot…come own Kelly…you cudda made it to the photo shoot on time! Are you wearing bed sheets or curtains…JCpenny’s or Macy’s? Deri..Who???

Kelly is going to prove all the haters wrong on July 3. This album is hot period. Pure quality. It’s funny how people are hating but they are not giving any reason. except the fact that its not beyonce. Beyonce is a good entertainer and her music is for entertaining but kelly is an artist and makes music from the heart thats the difference between both of them and makes them the great artist they are., Told yall kelly was gonna bump like this

DAMN…the hating on Ms. Kelly. I never post my opinion on anything, but Kelly’s album doesn’t suck THAT much. I mean her solo debut was definitely NOT it…but with tracks like “better without you” and “like this” I can’t completely write her off.
It’s funny to see how quick people are to diss Kelly. I agree that she is not the strongest singer (especially next to her play sis Beyonce’), but she is talented nontheless. Her CD is actually quite nice. Hell, a lot of people dissed B-day, but how many copies has been sold. That just goes to show you that the industry can tell YOU the consumer who is hot and who is not and you will buy into it.
On the other hand, I copped the Christte Michelle CD. I was very impressed with the vocals. Much better than Jill Scott I think, but material wise, I wasn’t sold. I expected more
