you’re so right… and that’s part of the problem. You can get the entire CD free and before it’s released, and see the videos while they are being shot. So why buy?

And since the videos are online everywhere people stop watching videos music shows, so advertisers stop buying time - less $$$ for the label, less $$$ for the artists. After a while they are better off [financially] working a 9 to 5.

Work (Put It In), The Show featuring Tank, Still In Love With my Ex, Flashback (not there), i am going to get the cd because she’s doing her thing and just needs that wide mass appeal pop sound to sell but like #13 said, she might just be content on doing this and comfortable and i dig it.

Chrissette’s has an old jazzy, blues, folkish sound that works if you into it. I would download for free but would never but her music. Nora Jones already exist.

I enjoyed Kelly’s selections better. She has great vocals. I think her cd is missing a little something but I’ll still support the effot. I love Ghetto, the show and Still in love w/Ex. I think her version of Work ft fat Joe is better than the song with just her on it. Bottom line Kelly lives in Kelly land and she is truly operating out of doing her own thing and I can appreciate that!

There’s a long list of singers I would list way before ever saying that Kelly is detrimental to any genre of music.

First off, to be detrimental to anything, you have to be an established force…someone that poses a major threat…who has made a huge impact on the music scene (ie, someone like 50 Cent)..someone who has managed to sell a ton of records but lacks any worthy talent.

Kelly is more like a quiet storm. She’s not detrimental to anyone/anything music-wise.

“I Am” - love it.. it’s so mellow and it’s like one of those relaxation albums. i think ima buy it. at first i wuz hesitant but i think ima get it now.

“Ms. Kelly” - i love it.. after i heard Comeback and Like This i was expecting something a lil more club banging but yall got to remember, “Ms Kelly” is WAY better then “Simply Deep”… she’s making progress.. this may not be here breakout album of her solo career but it’s a step toward it. i think kelly has great potential and as long as she is happy at the end of the day with what she created then thats all that matters. i supported her thru the shallow “Simply Deep” and i will support her on “Ms Kelly” and any other future album this wonderful person may produce…. Kelly you read this… you go girl.. i love you and everything you do!

Kelly is sooooooo underrated. She is an exceptional talent. With the exception of “Put it in”, those other tracks from Ms. Kelly are great. DAMN…the hating on Ms. Kelly. I never post my opinion on anything, but Kelly’s album doesn’t suck THAT much. I mean her solo debut was definitely NOT it…but with tracks like “better without you” and “like this” I can’t completely write her off.

It’s funny to see how quick people are to diss Kelly. I agree that she is not the strongest singer (especially next to her play sis Beyonce’), but she is talented nontheless. Her CD is actually quite nice. Hell, a lot of people dissed B-day, but how many copies has been sold. That just goes to show you that the industry can tell YOU the consumer who is hot and who is not and you will buy into it.

On the other hand, I copped the Christte Michelle CD. I was very impressed with the vocals. Much better than Jill Scott I think, but material wise, I wasn’t sold. I expected more
